The Office Clutter Cure If you're surrounded by piles and stacks of paper, haven't seen the top of your desk in years, or you're afraid to even look into your file cabinets, this is the book for you! It takes a hard (but hilarious) look at the state of our offices and cubicles, and serves up at least two dozen convincing reasons to clear all that clutter out (vividly details all the obvious and hidden ways office clutter is hurting us.) Then it outlines the cure, including how to deal with those big bad backlogs of paper, how to reclaim your desk, how to make better use of briefcases, how to halt the flow of clutter into your office. 192 pages; 186 illustrations.
Really great information that I have used and will be using!! However, it is a little dated to where a lot of it doesn't apply. He had some really amazing points in this book to consider from an outsiders perspective and it shifted my way of viewing how my office presents itself to others. I made a good effort a while ago when I started this book but going to make the final push to get my office back to an efficient machine for me. With so much work being done, I really need the office clutter to not be an extra stressor in my life.
I need to simplify 60 years of tools, files, books, electronics etc etc down to two banker boxes, a briefcase, an iPad and keyboard, passport and $. I went stupid on amazon and bought used copies of The Office Clutter Cure, File...Don’t Pile!, Weekend Makeover, Clutter’s Last Stand, and For Packrats Only. I now have five more books to read. A whole new big project. I am scanning (reading) all very briefly. Some good ideas that I may use. I am getting them out of here soon.
I enjoy all of Don Aslett's books. They are easy to read, and he has a way of making messes fun. This one was also educational. A lot of it was repeat for me, but I did pick up on some new ideas I can use for my office. Good, practical tips.
My sister Heather let me borrow 4 of her Don Aslett books. I am loving them! This one is the one area I feel like I do pretty well at. I'm good at organizing and keeping on top of paperwork. A lot of the ideas he has are great.
