Have you been looking for a good romance book? Have you been looking for a book that will build your faith? Then I have the book for you; I Will Follow by Clare Cook & Bethany Patchin.
This is a story of two sisters as they strive to honor God with their love lives while on a mission trip in Mexico. One has never been kissed or on a date, one has been kissed once by the only man she has ever loved but isn’t sure how to handle that relationship. Over the few weeks that they spend in Monterrey, Mexico, each of them will have to make choices about their love lives.
I really liked this book, because both sisters, even though they have chosen slightly different paths, are trying to honor God in all they do. There is really nothing wrong in this book, and it has a good message for girls of all ages. One of the things I loved about this book is that the girls were human. They have dreams, desires, and make some mistakes. It is a very thought provoking book and I would recommend it to everyone.
First thing off I will say this book had amazing morals and I agreed with all of them which was supper refreshing compared to a lot of books I read about standered. What I found anoying about this book was two things: 1. How they stated their opionions. Its seemed the authors went out of there way to make poor Meg have debates with people just so we could know her standereds on things, which of course one purson always thinks is stupid. 2. The ending. I understand the point of the book was we need to stick to our standereds no matter what but I still found the ending unsadusfing because even though you have an idea of what might happen you don't actually know so that opens the door to all kinds of possibility's.
Overall, I think it would have impacted me more if I haddn't already agreed with everything in the book.
I read this so many years ago, probably like 2004? And then for years I would read it again when I was struggling with having crushes throughout high school. I loved this book so much! I will say that now in my twenties I see a lot of damage from the purity movement and how it was presented to us in youth groups and in church. Like our physical abstinence was our only worth and the only evidence of a life in Christ. I thought this book had a little bit of that but was better than some about reminding us that there is so much more to Jesus and the Christian life than just not having sex. Excellent book for teens and preteens
