Maybe not the best written book, but it probably wasn't meant to be. It's a WWII B-17 waist gunner's recollections of his experiences a half century earlier. I really got into it since my Dad did the very same thing, same gun position and everything. Just a different unit flying out of a different base. Like a lot of WWII vets, my dad rarely talked about his experiences, so this book was great for me and filled a lot of voids about what he did and even what he had become after coming home. Even if you don't have a connection like I did, I think you will have a hard time putting it down once you start reading it. What those guys went through was incredible
