"You should think carefully about crossing a Quinten... We aren't so forgiving when we're made a fool out of." How would you feel if you found out your entire life was a lie? But suddenly, you don’t know who you are anymore? For Juliette Sanders; finding out the family mystery has really turned her life upside down. Not only that, but never did she think that her own identity would be the biggest bomb to explode. As a distraction from the mess that is her life, she begins volunteering at the local police station wanting to help in the Homicide division. But when she notices a pile of unsolved murders on a Detective's desk, she begins to wonder why are they being left to catch dust? Jules gets introduced to Scottish Navy Officer, Freddie Fitzgerald, who seems to have a sarcastic answer to everything, but also a incredibly sketchy life story. But when her life is on the line, will she be able to trust him? And will she be able to trust her family?
Juliette, Amy, The Quintens, The Williams Brothers, Detective Gomez, Officer Bradley. The story that all this characters help bring to life is so amazingly meaningful. Torrie, I have followed you on TikTok since the Troubled Series and this book is so heartbreakingly beautiful. I am so happy you are choosing to share this with the world. You have a gift. You take such care with the characters, the plot, the triggers that may occur. I adore your writing and how genuine it is. I am so excited to read The Betrayal That Follows. Juliette is such a relatable character who goes through so much trauma at a young age while surrounded with so many grown adults who forget her age. Amy is such a wonderful and supportive mum. The Quintens, even the bad ones, are such a unique and well represented family who fight and make mistakes but are loyal. The Williams Brothers, Rodger, god he makes you hate him but also be intrigued by him. Damien and Spencer, I think they have to be my two favourite characters just because the strength of their bond as siblings is so strong. Detective Gomez and Officer Bradley, it is so nice to see references to The Lies We Tell. I absolutely loved reading this.
This book is so amazing. I love the thrill and excitement that happened with this story. I especially loved the ending and the way it ended. I can’t wait to read the next one when comes out.
