Philia is the daughter of an Earl and wishes to spend her life enjoying her hobbies and doing the things she likes. She has no interest in socializing with other socialites of her age and in dating the opposite sex. She enjoys reading books and listening to the stories of the coming and going merchants. She relied on her parents when it came to marriage. That is when Philia receives a marriage proposal from Duke Claude Morris, who is admired by everyone. Being unable to decline, Philia marries Claude. – On the first night of being married, they return to the Duke's estate where he suddenly pushes her away saying "don't come near me." With a stern face, Claude says "I don't plan on having a man and woman relationship with you," and Philia begins to ask the reason but...
Super cute romantic story. I’d be happy to watch this if it were an anime. No doubt I’ll be reading the rest of the series to see how the story unfolds.
I love the fact that she was happy to have a marriage for sure cause then she could do as she pleased. She felt like such a regular every day girl it made it easy to relate to her. I like how the Duke's actions are slowly explained but also how the servants in no way are ok with him being that way, though it's hilarious cause they worry about her when she's just living her best life.
A sweet and pleasant little romance with a straight forward story line that's easy to follow. The artwork is romantic with a touch of silliness. This story is about a young independent girl who is wed to a duke she has never met. After the ceremony she discovers that he is quite the grump! I look forward to vol. 2!
There’s something a bit off about this translation that leaves out some words essential to the natural flow of the English language. It’s tolerable but almost feels mechanical.
Cute. Marriage of convenience. They are both uninterested in a relationship and this both thrive separately until words get-together the duke that his wife is wonderful and loved by all. Which, of course means that he falls for her. But she is not ready yet…
It's a standard miscommunication trope historical romance manga but it's also CUTE. I've read this sort of story a dozen times... And I'll read it a dozen more!
The story is easy to follow, the characters are engaging, and I love the art style. This seems like a great story so far. Looking forward to reading volume 2!
I liked the premise but parts were just a little awkward for me. It is possible it is a translation issue. Either way, I didn't really feel like reading further in the series.
