ACE My club is my life. End of. I have my son beside me, my estranged daughter just reappeared, and I’m surrounded by good friends. Especially Mae, who’s always there with a helpful ear. I’m content, and everything is exactly as I’d pictured it. The last thing I need is an ol’ lady causing me grief and trying to tame me.
My life is good. I’m complete. I’m happy.
MAE The MC is my life. It’s all I’ve known and where I was raised, so I should be content. But life is . . . well, it’s not quite how I’d pictured it. There’s something missing. Ace.
The club’s President is fifteen years older, but that doesn’t put me off. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted. The problem is, he doesn’t see me as anything other than his confidante, his friend, the one he talks to when things are going wrong. So, how do I tell him I’m in love with him?

She finally tells him she’s in love with him so he bangs the Clubwhore some more. The age gap freaks him out. A lot of push away by Ace. Boo hoo he’s so old..:yadayadayada. Very abruptly Ace and Mae get their Hea and this story is over and we’re on to the next book which the author iwas obviously chomping at the bit to get to.

Anyone else really annoyed with Ash for the liberties he gave Mystique? It really pissed me off...heck he even pissed off his club brothers with that decision 🙄
I really like Nicola Janes MC series. The MCs are typically complete Aholes but theres tons of drama and thrills. The safety gang may want to turn back now as there is Sexual Assault and sort of cheating ( they had a argument and technically were not together but it was right after they just got together ).
Mae has been in love with MC President Ace for years but Ace puts Mae in the friends zone because she's 15 years younger then him and he doesn't do relationships. Hes 40, she's 25. Ace is with a club girl on and off. He also is sfraid any old lady of his puts a target on her back.
One night Mae tells Ace how she feels about him and although they kiss eventually he puts a solid barrier between them. So Mae decides if he doesn't want her she will act single. She dresses up and flirts with other men which finally forces Ace to pull his head out of his ass and pursue her romantically which doesn't last long as they argue and break up. Ace then takes out his frustrations with his club girl which breaks Maes heart.
Ace isnt wrong..even when they arent in an official relationship Mae has a target on her back and her life is put in danger and Ace is powerless to keep her safe.
The writing is engaging and the characters have depth.Ace is a complete Ahole at times but he grew on me.

It sure takes Ace awhile to get his head out of his A$$. Mae is devoted and loves Ace but he thinks he's to old.
He comes to his senses after Mae goes through something unspeakable. But I'm still angry he didn't let Mae be involved. I still don't trust the girl who ca me back with them. Go figure about Angel I knew it.
I actually don't know how this fool manages to be the president of a MC when he is TSTL most of the time.
The whole club 'ho betrayal was an epic let down because it was side - swiped in a short paragraph and, given the hideous consequences of her actions, deserved WAY more page time. It's almost as if the author lost interest with that pivotal plot point.
I’m 3.5 starring this one I love NJ and her books and I love how they deliver the drama and the POS H’s that bring the rage, add in OW drama and your in for a pretty eventful read. In saying that things were missing towards the end of this book I felt needed to be addressed. Mystique just disappears, and I have to admit I struggled a bit with believing Ace’s love for Mae and their HEA… but overall and enjoyable read
This was a good age gap MC book that kept me turning pages. Ace was the Prez of the Rebellion MC and has his son and daughter by his side. Mae was brought up in the club and even though younger in years she has been the one that Ace will turn to to talk. Will Mae ever get him to see her as a suitable match or will their age play to much in to this story. This book pulled at my heartstrings every time Ace turned to Mae for one thing but to other women for other things. I love this author’s work by the way she puts it out there and takes me on crazy rides time after time.
Dark, emotional MC, age gap romance, Ace and Mae have been friends for a long time, shes harboured feelings for him for just as long, she's never been on his radar until she is, will they overcome their issues or will it be too late for Ace. Absolutely love this authors work and this is definitely one of her best, can't wait until the next in the series.

I love Nicola Janes stories she’s not afraid to cross boundaries and the OW drama is always sure to get your blood pumping! Lol I loved the characters and I loved that it was a age gap romance it’s angsty it’s steamy and I devoured this story! Loved it!.

• Dark Romance • MC • Age Gap (~15 yrs) • Dual POV
I found Ace and Mae’s story to be a rollercoaster of a story. Ace had been close with Mae for years as she grew up around the club, especially after she befriended his estranged daughter. After Mae drunkenly confesses her feelings for Ace, Ace struggles to come to terms with their age difference. I found Ace’s hot/cold feelings along, the OW drama and the graphic kidnapping scenes to take away from the romance. Overall, I enjoyed seeing Ace and Mae finally get their happy ending, however it felt more HFN than HEA.

What a wild emotional ride Nicola Jane has given her readers with Ace & Mae's story, you will scream, laugh and become one with this couple as their journey will be full of heartache, stubbornness, violence and danger. Ace is President of the Rebellion MC, he is hot, sexy and 40 years old. He has a son Hulk and now has formed a relationship with his estranged daughter Lucy who is marrying into the Mafia. Ace is this larger than life biker whose club consumes him, his brothers are loyal and trustworthy but he is too trusting where women are concerned as he won't tolerate women being abused. Ace has a big heart but he has sworn off relationships due to past mistakes, he has no desire to take an ol'lady. The one constant in his life is Mae, his friend and confidant but the close bond these two have will soon shatter.
Mae has grown up as a biker princess in the Rebellions MC as her parents are both members of the club, she loves club life as this is all she knows. Mae has a secret she is in love with Ace, at Lucy's wedding when she sees Ace with one of the club sluts Angel she gets upset and starts to drink. Ace who is protective of her goes to her aid but when Mae who can no longer hide her feelings for Ace begins to kiss him she confesses that she loves him which ends up putting a strain on their friendship. He gets upset as he backs off telling her he is too old for her and that she has ruined everything between them and storms off. Ace wants Mae but worries what his brothers would think if he is with her. Will the age difference between them become a factor? Their time together will be a rocky one as they are both avoiding each other leaving both of them miserable. To get over Mae he uses Angel which breaks Mae's heart, now she decides she needs to get over him. While the club is on lockdown due to Tag's father Lorenzo resurfacing, Ace and Mae's problems will only escalate. Mae is avoiding him due to Ace brushing her off and Ace is torn, first he is upset that Mae ruined what they had but he is also knows he wants her but knows he isn't the right man for her. Things only get worse for these two when Piper tells Mae they need to sneak out of the clubhouse and go out. When the club members see Mae for the first time they see a sexy, beautiful young woman which leaves Ace jealous and overprotective of her. Now he is giving her mixed signals and Mae wants no part of it. When Ace discovers that Mae and Piper are at a bar, he calls Anton for backup until he arrives. Once Mae sees Ace she knows she is in trouble as Ace is trying to control his anger he tells her he will talk to her at the clubhouse. Now these two begin to argue, as he tells her if she can't understand that all he is trying to do is keep her safe as well as he club she needs to pack her stuff and get out. Hurt and in tears she tells him that she won't make it easy on him, if he wants her gone he needs to throw her out as this is her home.
Ace is miserable for the way he treated her starts to drink more as he is still having problems communicating his feelings for her. Hulk seeing his father upset he tells him to go for it as well as Mae's mother who gives him her blessing as everyone in the club can tell they are meant to be together. Will he ever learn that he keeps trusting the wrong person? Ace seeks Mae out and they have an intense moment together, but once again Angel will lie to Mae which has her avoiding Ace once again. Not knowing what he did to her, finally he seeks her out and he learns what Angel said to her. He starts to yell about trust, her age as he tells her that is why he doesn't do relationships. Mae with her sassy attitude starts to taunt Ace he decides that he can't take it anymore and decides to take what he wants as he and Mae end up in bed. As they express all the pent up desire Ace was trying to supress, their lovemaking is bold, raw, intense and oh so hot!!
Trouble is coming to the club when their enemy resurfaces, the alliance they have with Anton who is with the Mafia will have Ace and the club's back and someone will betray Ace which puts a target on Ace and Mae. When Ace and Mae are taken, she is raped and Ace is beaten and tortured. Ace learns that they took the wrong person as Lucy was the target all along. Now he is left wondering who the boss is, could it be Lorenzo? Your heart will break as Mae is raped in front of Ace who is unable to help her. When she has the opportunity, she kills one of her captors and helps Ace out of his chains which allows him to take care of the second man in the room. Now with the help from Mystique she helps them escape but she asks Ace to take her with him. As Ace is trying to help Mae he learns she was given heroin and is going through withdrawals, Not wanting to leave her side, Mae is giving him a hard time, now he is not only worried about her but Mystique who is coming on to him. Ace is gullible and is insensitive to Mae's feelings as he gives Mystique liberties that doesn't sit well with Mae as she tells him she doesn't trust her or that Angel may have been working with Lorenzo. When he was told that a woman may have been working with the boss he still is in denial that Angel may have betrayed him. Even his brothers question his choices, but when his son sets him straight about Angel, he finally learns the truth and tells his son to take care of her. Anton soon reaches out to Ace with news that he captured Lorenzo. When he tells Mae that they have Lorenzo he won't allow Mae to be present and get her revenge, but he does allow Mystique to be present. Mae is outraged but Ace explains to her that he didn't want Mae to have blood on her hands. Mae makes Ace see that she is a strong woman who won't be pushed aside by his overprotective ways as he needs to get over the age difference and see her for who she truly is if this relationship will work.
Finally the threat is stopped, Ace asks Mae to be his ol'lady and marry him, love the connection these two have as Ace with all of his misgivings ends up learning what love truly is with Mae by his side. Now we are left with a cliffhanger as Hulk is jealous of Piper and Anton, when she refuses to talk to him he tells her he will tell Anton everything leaving Piper shocked and Anton wanting answers. Nicola Jane has given her readers an age-gap romance story about Ace & Mae that was heartfelt and all consuming leaving you wanting more. I highly recommend this story, you will not be disappointed!
WOW.. This is a new author to me so I didn't really know what to expect but when I saw what the book was about I wanted to read this MC/Mafia book. I was freaking HOOKED with this book until the very end and when I got to the last page I wanted more. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Awesome book Nicola Jane
I loved Ace and Mae's story. It had all the angst and drama that I love from Ms. Jane!!! Keep writing drama filled books because there is an audience for it (me being one of them) Can't wait for Piper, Hulk and Anton's story
Nicola Jane is the queen of pulling out your emotions, mixing them all up, and put them back in. Ace and Mae’s story was no different. You laugh, cry, scream, cuss, and cheer your way through every book.
Ace and Mae are the perfect match but it didn't come easy for them though, full of angst and o/w drama there are some triggers but overall a brilliant read , I can't wait for piper hulk and antons story 😍😍
Another 5 star read from Ms. Jane !! I loved seeing how their relationship developed and the ultimate drama that we knew was coming. As per usual the drama and angst were off the charts. Anxiously awaiting the next in the series!!!😀
Loved both books in this series..characters are great. Lots of suspense in this one..heartbreaking for a while with what Mae has to suffer. But she is strong...can't wait for book 3 with what happened at the end...big twist...didn't see that coming. And OMG moment..
This is the first book I read by this author . maybe I should have read them in order and I would have liked this book more . I wanted to give it a 2.5 but you can give that rating and it did keep my attention so I gave it a 3 . First off Ace and Mae really did and do belong together. So when he got so mad that she told him her feelings he was kind of childish. And then the fact that he still slept with club women knowing how she felt was kind of rude and ignorant. Then when Ace throws Angel a club women in her face and she brings someone home from the bar , he gets mad and kicks him out . he's finally with her and the next day he lets her take the blame for the guy leaving on her own and not being walked out by her . what kind of president of a MC does that ????
Then when they have a misunderstanding instead of talking neither of them did he just goes with Angel again and again throws it in her face . So more happens in between all this and I don't want to spoil anything so I am going to skip alot because it was a good book. Ace and Mae are kidnapped .. They get free but Make gets hurt horrible they are help getting free by a women named Mystique who becomes infuriated with ace . They get back to the club house and after everything thing that happens Ace still tries to be with Angel and he kisses Mystique He goes to !are room after kissing Mystique and says he loves her and he wants to try with her but she still can't go with him He takes Mystique to help u alive the men who hurt Mae ( Mystique is not club) but won't let Mae go . when they get back Mae goes to see Ace in his room and he is sitting g on the bed fully clothed but Mystique comes out of his bedroom show completely naked and wet .. WTF and all he says is it isn't what it looks like.
I cannot stand the way he sticks up for Angel when Mae accused her of being the snitch in the club , I hate how he sticks up for Mystique and says he owes her and just expects Mae to sit by . And then when Mae was right about about Angel setting them up and getting her hurt and he says is she will be kicked from the club.. Bull she was a traitor and he unsolved the man that caused Maes pain but not to the women responsible for it And then the book just ends . we don't get to see them move past everything and have s** its just over .. Maybe some of this will be answered in the 3rd book .. But .. Kept my interest but very disappointed
The author stated at the front of the book that trigger warnings were not necessary if the reader had read MC/Mafia romance before. I respectfully disagree. Yes, violence, explicit erotic content, and language are to be expected. However, S. Assault is not an expected event in Mafia/MC romance, though it occurs frequently. Authors who include S. Assault usually include a general trigger warning if not a specific one. That being said, this book is fairly good. Here’s the breakdown: MMC/FMC- Ace and Mae POV- 1st person dual Language- UK English Genre- MC Romance Series? Y and this book makes much more sense if you read book one Cliffhanger? Not really. More teaser for the next book. HEA/HFN- Y Bonus- playlist Triggers- Violence, language, explicit erotic content, kidnapping, S. Assault including multiple perpetrators, drug abuse Tropes- Age Gap, Alpha Male, Best Friend’s Dad What I liked- Mae. She was a character with layers, basically likable but with flaws (and she admits to them). She’s a really good heroine. What I didn’t like- I felt that the romance had no real resolution. There are too many issues remaining to believe that the HFN could become a HEA. When they finally announced they were together, it was very unsatisfying. Verdict- YMMV. Not for me, though I like this author’s work generally.

This is the second installment of this series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. With every motorcycle club/mafia book, there are trigger warnings to look out for if you are easily triggered.
This story pulled at my heartstrings. I loved the history and relationship between Ace and Mae from the beginning. Mae was the one person that Ace could go to a talk about anything with, but when Mae’s secret is revealed, Ace can’t help but to look at her differently.
I hate that it took what they went through for Ace to not only finally open his eyes and the truth of the events surrounding him and his club, but also to accept his feelings for Mae. I had a love/hate feeling towards him for most of the book, but once he realized how badly Mae needed him, he won me over by not backing away.
My heart went out to Mae for having to hide her feelings for so long and then having to go through what she did. Through it all, she staid strong and finally got the HEA she deserved with help from her friends and family.
The ending has me needing more and wanting to know what is going on with Piper. I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what secrets are revealed and what the next heartbreak and repair Nicola Jane has for us.
I received an advanced readers copy via Booksprout. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.
Trigger warning! If you have not read Nicola Jane's work before, please note that she doesn't hold back. Please proceed with caution.
With that being said, this book had me so emotionally messed up. One minute I am happy, the next minute I am upset. Nicola Jane's writing is so good that I had to take a moment at times in order to proceed.
Ace and Mae's story is reflected as an age-gap romance. Ace, the pres of the Rebellion MC, has a special place in his heart for Mae. But he fights the idea that there can be more between him and Mae.
Mae is in love with Ace, but he is clueless in the beginning. She is the person he goes to when he needs someone to talk to, but she is not the person he takes to bed.
Mae's feelings are revealed, and the relationship between Ace & Mae is rocky from the get go. A lot of the story is about the interference in their relationship and how they handle it. The biggest test of who they are and who they will be was probably the hardest part to read. It was not because it was bad, but because how emotional it was to read. You know the writing is great when it tears at a persons heartstrings.
I never read this story the first time it came out. Happy to get the opportunity to do so now. Can't wait for Anton's story.

This is the second book in the Rebellion MC series by Nicola Jane. I Here we have Ace and Mae's story. Ace is the President of the MC and Mae is a deceased members daughter. Mae grew up in the MC and still lives in the clubhouse almond with her mother. Ace has always sought Mae out as a sympathetic ear and sort of confidant. Ace 40, has never really seen Mae 25 as more than a friend because he's convinced he's to old for her. One night Mae confesses her feeling for Ace and he shuts it down saying he's to old for her and she needs a better man than him, This starts the push and pull between them. They are both mistakenly kidnapped by the bad guy from book one. Ace's guilt over not protecting Mae forces him to push her away. When he finally gets his head on straight he tries to get Mae to give him another chance. Mae dos not give in easily and he has to work hard to prove he is all in.
I have not yet read the first book but I felt there were enough explanations to the first book that I could follow the backstory easily but not too much that it bogged down this story. As a matter of fact I am going to go read the first book I need to read about Tag and Lucy. All in all this was a great book and am looking forward to reading more in this series.
This is the 2nd book in the Rebellion MC featuring the emotional age-gap romance between Ace and Mae. This story quickly grabs your attention from the very first page until you reach the end. Believe me you won't be able to turn the pages fast enough with the heartache, drama and emotions in this book. Ace is the President of the Rebellion MC so he's super alpha he has his club with his son and daughter by his side. He's sworn off marriage so he sticks to friends with benefits arrangements and although Mae is his friend she's not getting any of the benefits. Mae was raised in the club and she's been there for Ace whenever he needs to talk even though she has had a crush on him for quite some time. When Mae decides to tell Ace that she has feelings for him he's flabbergasted and all hell breaks loose. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this emotional age-gap romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

This was a heartbreaking and tearful story. You could feel the pain Mae felt at every turn. She is not a weak character, she do not back down or break. Mae came across as a realistic person, a friend that you want to cheer for and your heart hurts right along with her. Now, Ace was someone I wanted to shake some since in. We expect a man, a MC club president to be strong, to stand up to everyone. BUT he seemed to let women run over him and make some of the worst decisions a 40 y/o man can ever make. They say with age comes wisdom boy did he prove them wrong.
I really love this book because it had a loving heroine, you could love and empathize with and a hero you could love to hate. It has all your emotions rattling around and keeps you on you toes being realistic and not over the top.
I am just going to say this, read the triggers first.
I started to read ace two days ago finished it last night. I am a very big Nicola Jane fan. I just love her books. I will drop anything to get a book and read it.
Ace is a extraordinary read, I fell in love with Ace, tattooed biker dude do I say anymore. Mae is a biker princess was raised in the MC. She was the one person the ace could go to, to talk to about the stuff that’s going on in his life, unbeknownst to him she was falling in love with him.
I am going to say that if you have triggers that maybe this book isn’t for you. But I am going to rate it five out of five I don’t want to give away anymore than what I have.
I can’t wait for the next book. Nicola Jane is a excellent author, if you haven’t read any please go out and get a book of hers, you won’t regret it.
Ace is Pres of the Rebellion MC Club. He's very close to Mae, and she is his confidant. But Mae feels more for him than he does for her. Ace feels she is too young for him to be interested in. He's constantly upsetting Mae with his actions with other women in the club. She tries to make him jealous one night and it works. Will this turn their relationship around, or will Ace keep up with his old ways? One night something happens and it throws them closer will they escape their captives and get their HEA or will they be lost forever? I received an arc for my voluntary honest review for NNBB. Nicola always holds your interest and turning the pages until the very end with all the twists and turns to see what happens. If you love a dark MC romance you will enjoy this book. If you have triggers there may be some in this book so may not be the book for you.
