really fun and quick, but the relationship between jules and nate was alllllll types of problematic and very unrealistic imo. definitely not a book that’s changing my life, but a great read!
Jules lives in Maldon in Essex with her son Austin ( who is eleven and just about to start senior school) and her lodger Vicky. Vicky has been trying to get Jules to go out, but according to Jules she has been out, even if its just to her book club, which is called the Lonely Hearts Book Club. But for now she has an even bigger problem ( in her opinion) she has kissed the parent of one of her pupils ( is this even allowed?) Also is he divorced? Jules doesn't know what to do so calls a meeting with the members of her local book club for help and advice. But when the assistant head at the school asks her out, she truly doesn't know which way to turn. Especially when Nate seems to appear at every moment when she just doesn't expect him to but maybe hoping he would. When things come to a head during a school visit to the zoo, how will she cope with the ethics of it all. A charming and delightful read, a story that you can loose yourself in. I have read several books by this author and this is as good as her previous books. Living in Essex for many years I know the town of Maldon well and it was lovely to read a book set here.
Hannah Lynn does an excellent job with the second book in her series. It stands easily alone which gives credit to her writing skill.
I thoroughly enjoyed the read and I liked both of the main characters (Jules and Nate) and their respective kids. Budding herpetologist Dylan was cool too...mostly.
You should get what you hope for from this book...a cosy, funny love story for a couple of evenings on the sofa or sunbed. And since Nate isn't nearly as loaded as some heroes in this genre there is just a hint more credibility.
I have every intention of reading more of Hannah's work which should serve as its own recommendation.
Jules is a teacher, struggling to make ends meet when she meets Nate. Still entangled with his soon to be ex, Jules tries her best to not get involved but she just can't help herself! This story was sensitively told and built up the reader's knowledge of the relationships well. Some of the interactions felt a bit repetitive and there were a few supporting characters whose names I couldn't stay on top of (may have just been me!) but it was an easy, uplifting read. I give it 3.5 ⭐
I haven't read many of Hannah Lynn's books but what I have read have been excellent and this one is no exception. I enjoyed it right from the start and it didn't let me down all the way through. It was a gentle love story with enough body to keep my interest, can thoroughly recommend to anyone that needs to chillout and hope there will be more to come.
Loved this book read in one sitting a true love story. Jules is a single mum and a highly respected teacher at a prep school. While on a night out with friends she meets Nate who has recently moved into the area. There is an instant attraction between them but it's not that simple. A must read if you like a bit of romance.
This was an enjoyable read. I’m not sure I’ve read book one, in the series, but will certainly seek it out. This can get read as a stand alone. It was lighthearted and had likeable and some misunderstood characters. I felt there was a rush to end the book because of the swift change of heart of one of the characters, but otherwise the pace was good. It’s worth a look.
I’ve read books by this author before so was optimistic, unfortunately I couldn’t really take to Jules and the story seemed to drag on with little momentum. It had promise in the early chapters but tapered off. I was half hoping the author would bring a competing love interest in to the story to add some fire but alas this didn’t happen. All in all it was a disappointment.
This was a little complicated for the characters dealing with a not yet divorced man. I think the characters were brilliant, realistic and loyal The ups and downs ,will it work or not, that's the question. I loved it. As always happy reading
When primary school teacher Jules meets a man on a last night before the start of the new school year, their connection is immediate. There is a saying that the course of true love doesn't run smoothly and this certainly proves to be true for Jules. Heart warming, funny and entertaining .
This is the second book in the series but is good as a standalone. I loved the main characters and it is a good read . The way the characters are described in the book makes you believe they are real. Loved the story it didn’t disappoint all the way through.
A lovely story that feels real, about 2 people connecting despite their various complex lives. She's a teacher and doesn't realize that he's a parent... but the attraction is there and they have to navigate through to each other.
A sweet, short, slow burn (only kissing) romance. Would have liked more of Nate and jules together and a better epilogue, maybe showcasing their blended family.
A fantastic chick flick novel. Read this book in one sitting. Instantly loved the characters Nate and Jules and how their stories unfold. Couldn’t put the book down.
I absolutely adored this book as it is beautifully written with a captivating story. As soon as Jules and Nate meet you are invested in the outcome and rooting for them. Really a feel good read!
Part of a series ..but certainly can be read as stand alone...Jules whio is a single mum meets Nate before of the new term at school where she is a teacher..it isn't long before she realises she is teaching Nates daughter and along comes Nates estranged wife ! Plenty of laughs from Jules friends and complications along the way !
I really loved reading this book about single mum Jules and Nate a parent to a child in her class. I felt really sorry for Jules she tries to fight her feelings for Nate. I enjoyed this book from the first to the last page. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
