I don't have enormous expectations when I pick up a book like this, but this one tries to be way too much, covering every aspect of running a theater or staging a musical. But all of the advice is terribly obvious and it all glosses the bare minimum of each respective subject. A much more focused book would still have to be longer to help the aspiring director, technical expert, or producer.
