Tally DeWilde ‘s first day as a vet at the Upland County Animal Hospital did not start out as planned. Even though she was at the hospital hours before it opened for the day, Tally did not expect to open the pounding door to an enemy of her family, Rome Ashcroft and with her a squirming bag of puppies.
Rome Ashcroft is looking for a sense of community and home when she signed on to be an emergency PA (medical assistant) at Rivers Hospital. After completing two tours in Afghanistan as a medic, Rome came back with a sense of self she never had growing up in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Rushing to arrive on time for her first day of work, Rome stops to discover a closed bag of puppies left on the road. Heading to the first veterinary hospital she can find, Rome comes face to face with her past.
This is Radclyffe’s newest addition to the Rivers Community Romance series and it put a definite smile on my face. Introducing two new characters and a whole lot of puppies brings a new energy to the series. Finders Keepers is an entertaining and engaging novel written by the master of romance. I could not put it down and neither will you.

With lots of BSB releases it’s been hit or miss these last months. This one is no different, it’s a tiny bit hit (puppies, duhuh) and lots of miss.
Radclyffe isn’t a bad writer but I feel like maybe the fountain of inspiration and original stories is drying up. It results in this book that isn’t badly written, it’s just very boring and highly unbelievable.
Let me sum it up real quick: Roman (Rome, horrible name by the way) finds a duffel of puppies and takes them to the nearest vet. Who happens to be Tally (Talia another horrible name), they have a shared history. Bit of mystery about the history, sparks flying, and a meddling town (sorta). They kiss, immediately “breakup”, get together for a talk later and boom I-love-yous are being said.
THE END.
I feel like this book has the length of a (longer) novella and the character development and storyline to go with it. I liked the puppies and the kids showing up for them. As I appreciate Rome taking in this responsibility, no matter how hard Tally tries to change her mind. The shrouded in mystery shared past is a very big eye roll for me. Once you read it you will understand.
I think many readers will fall on either side of the love-hate border. I’m staying firmly put on the border with one leg dragging in the hate. 2.5 stars

With Radclyffe's Rivers Community series, you always know what you get - great characters and a sweet love story. This is #8 in the series, where everything revolves around the Rivers Hospital and the small-town community. It's like going on vacation there again and seeing all your friends again.
This time we meet Rome Ashcroft, the new PA at Rivers Hospital, and a military buddy of Brody, and Tally Dewilde, the new addition to Val's (Brody's wife) veterinary clinic. Rome and Tally share a painful past, and both thought they would never see each other again. But as chance, or fate, would have it, after ten years they meet again, in this small town in upstate rural New York, where they both want to make a fresh start.
As always, the MCs are likable and interesting characters. I liked them both from the beginning, and they also fit seamlessly into the Rivers community. A small town that is obviously a magnet for LGBTIQ+ members. They both have interesting pasts that I would have liked to know more about. While it becomes clear where Tally's rejection and anger towards Rome come from, I did wonder why Rome didn't fight back against the accusations at the time.
The romance was sweet but from Tally's rejection of Rome, to "I love you", it went a tad too fast for my taste. Of course, the adorable puppies, abandoned and rescued by Rome, helped melt hearts faster, but a little more story development and background wouldn't have been bad. Especially because their upbringing and their families, contrast with the small-town life they both now seek. Also, the event that led to Rome's accusations is never properly explained.
I liked how the Rivers family accepted both new members without any prejudices and how the younger generation helped out with the puppy's duties. And of course, the puppies were the (not so) secret stars of the story.
Something I love very much about series is, that I keep seeing old acquaintances from previous episodes. All comes well in the end and it was a fun couple of hours with an entertaining and light summer story.

3.5 stars. I’ve been absent for quite some time, 2023 has been a turbulent year for me and less books could be read than planned. I’m very behind on a few ARCs that I received, including this one, and I apologize for the delay in posting these reviews. Nonetheless, when I finally got to read this book I enjoyed it. It is a nice and easy read and it was good to get back in the flow of reading.
This book is part of a series and had I known this I might not have picked this to read because I dislike reading books out of order. That said, the story on itself is perfectly readable as a standalone story. I do think you’ll get more out of it of you read the series though, because there are a lot of couples returning from previous books.
Tally and Rome both decide to start a new life in a small town. One as a vet and the other as a doctor. But they have met before and the circumstances were not good. I always like it when there is some history that is not immediately mentioned but is left to discover along the way, like in this book. Tally hates Rome and you slowly learn why. But as often is the case, there were also some things that kept niggling me while reading. For instance, why is this intense hatred not mutual? Also, they eventually move past their grievances, but it felt like they had hardly really talked, so this is where it all went slightly too fast for me. I was not too surprised by this as I have come to expect this from Radclyffe’s books. Both characters are likable though and if you don’t mind that it is a bit fast, this will give a light and enjoyable read.

WE HAVE PUPPIES, that’s all you need to know! Seriously, who doesn’t want to read a book which has lots of puppies in it?
Now, about the book… I enjoyed it, but I feel this story has been written before. The characters are likeable, I feel like there is lacking chemistry between the pair tho, with a lot of ‘toing and froing’, which leaves me feeling that it’s all been rushed.

Radclyffe writes such a good story, I know I am in safe hands right from the start. Good to catch up with old friends. Love this series.

Finders Keepers, ‘A Rivers Community Romance’ Book 8 by Radclyffe is a delightful slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance; one that I’m glad I had the chance to read. It also has puppies…six adorable, bright eyed, floppy eared, soft and cuddly puppies. I admit it. I’m an absolute sucker for sweet, furry baby animals. Add them to a romantic couple in a story, and I’m hooked.
I’ve enjoyed reading all of the Rivers Community novels and grab any new ones I see when they come out. I know that with each story I’ll get to see all of the folks I’ve come to know and love from the past books. Each novel is set in the same village, as well as the Rivers Community Hospital, and of course connected in some way to the Rivers family. This tale begins when Roman Ashcroft finds six abandoned puppies on her way to her first day as a PA at the Rivers hospital. When she takes them to a vet hospital on the way to work, she is suddenly faced with a past she thought she had left behind in the form of Dr. Tally Dewilde, the new veterinarian in town.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all my favorite characters and places from the past stories. Tally and Rome make a great addition to the population of Rivers. They have an obvious connection even with their painful past. Theirs is an extremely slow-burn romance, almost too slow for me, but the chemistry between them is definitely hot. Then of course there are the puppies. No one can resist these babies.
This is a great summertime (or any time) read for those of you who enjoy their love stories slow and sweet.

I liked Roman Ashcroft and her courage and humility. I always enjoy reading about female characters with a military background I wish that she would have fought back against the false accusations made against her. Tally Dewilde was so strongly influenced by her past and really struggled to overcome her suffocating parents and upbringing.
I thought the feelings and relationship needed more development. Seemed they each fell in love too quickly as they tried yo avoid each other for most of the story.
And the puppies were super cute and liked all their military names.

Radclyffe knows how to write a strong, character-driven novel, and everyone knows that throwing in some cute puppies will draw in the readers. Who can resist? Finders Keepers, the latest in the Rivers Community Romance series, introduces us to two new arrivals in the small rural town, Roman and Tally.
Roman had me from the start. She comes across as confidant and sexy with a background full of baggage but still has the confidence to know that she is a catch. And then there is Tally. The hot vet. Oh, did I mention the bag full of abandoned puppies? Of course, Roman, the tough ex-military PA, is determined to take them under her wing, adding to her sex appeal. Roman and Tally have a past that involves Tally’s older sister and is only alluded to, keeping the reader in the dark.
Long story short, Tally hates Roman, and Roman doesn’t hold it against her. Roman is, however, falling hard for Tally, and vice versa, which means they need to discuss what really happened between Roman and Tally’s sister all those years ago.
I haven’t read all of the Rivers Community Romance books, but I have read a few, and each story is about finding the one person who will ground you and bring you home. That, and found family, and this is what gives them their feel-good vibes. The HEA is guaranteed, and the angsty MC (one or both) will realize they are exactly where they need to be.

Another continuation of the "Rivers" series.
This one has 6 abandoned puppies which is a cute part of the story. Oh and a hot Porsche.

Finder's Keepers, the latest instalment in Radclyffe's Rivers Community Romance series, features the romance between Roman, an ex-military PA, and Tally, the town's new veterinarian. Meeting again after a decade, their reunion is far from smooth. Both harbour mistrust and unspoken grudges due to a murky past involving Tally's older sister. When they cross paths again, quite unexpectedly, the novel delves into a slow burn of earning back trust and coming to terms with who they've become, as opposed to who they once were.
While the story preserves the series' familiar themes of finding home and the concept of a found family, it fell a bit short for me compared to other Radclyffe books I've read. The pacing felt too rapid, hastening the characters from mistrust to love in what seemed like a blink. For me, the rushed pace just didn't allow the chemistry between Roman and Tally to fully develop.
That said, Finder's Keepers is by no means a bad book. It still offers strong characters, an air of mystery, and the ever-irresistible inclusion of adorable puppies. If you're a fan of Radclyffe or the Rivers Community Romance series, you'll find familiar comfort here. However, if you're looking for a relationship that takes its time to develop, this instalment may feel a tad hurried.

Tally and Roman meet after a decade and not all is well. Tally doesn't trust Rome and vice versa because of something that happened long ago.
They meet by chance, again and pasts collide. Slowburn to earn trust back and see each for who they are now instead of who they were.
This wasn't my fav of Radclyffe's books. It seemed too fast paced and too quick before the MCs were in love and then it ended.
Overall not a bad book, but the chemistry seemed off and was really rushed.

Radclyffe returns to her Rivers Community Romance series with an 8th novel. This one can easily be read on its own but other MCs from previous books show up at the local bar or high school basketball games. Two newcomers are arriving to the small upstate rural NY town. Dr. Tally Dewilde is a veterinarian and joining the practice of Sydney Valentine (Love to the Rescue Apr 2019). Roman Ashcroft is fresh out of the Army after completing two overseas tours as a medic. She will be a new PA in the ER at Rivers Hospital.
Roman while driving on her first day to work finds a bag in the road and discovers it full of puppies. She takes it to the closet veterinary clinic and runs into Tally. But this isn’t their first meeting. Roman was friends with Tally’s older sister and there was a big scandal that cost Roman her college scholarship causing her to enlist. They are both from wealthy upper east side NYC families and they bond over how they are escaping that life.
For a Radclyffe novel this is light on her normal ER medical drama. Instead we have puppies and sweet high school friends that help Roman care for the abandoned animals. The developing romance is running into each other getting coffee or concerns about the pups. But you get glimpses of sparks which switches quickly to declarations of feeling if only thing they can move past the stumbling block from the past.
When I get several books from this publisher at the same time I choose what I think will be my favorite to read last as a reward. I chose correctly with this book. The cover is adorable and I’m happy to be in the Rivers Community again. During a recent publisher sale I purchased several of the early books in this series that I haven’t read. I now need to make time on my TBR pile to get to them.

Talia and Roman are surprised to see each other in the same town when Roman who driving down the road finds six abandoned puppies in a trash bag and rushes to nearest vet clinic. Talia doesn’t want’s reminder of the past and that’s what Rome represents because she blames her for what her family went through. Rome who just wants to start a new life after having to give up dreams but it’s doesn’t means she didn’t have good life despite what happened in the past. Tally and Rome have to overcome the past if they want to have a future or even have relationship or friendship but as they spend more time together Tally starts to see that maybe she misjudged Rome and learns something that put everything in perspective. I enjoy this read I like visiting the Rivers clan and how they just open their home to anyone who need it. I really hope this author would do a crossover with PMC Hospital series.

Talia doesn’t want’s reminder of the past and that’s what Rome represents because she blames her for what her family went through. Rome who just wants to start a new life after having to give up dreams but it’s doesn’t means she didn’t have good life despite what happened in the past. Tally and Rome have to overcome the past if they want to have a future or even have relationship or friendship but as they spend more time together Tally starts to see that maybe she misjudged Rome and learns something that put everything in perspective. I enjoy this read I like visiting the Rivers clan and how they just open their home to anyone who need it. I really hope this author would do a crossover with PMC Hospital series.

This book was a pleasant read, but not really anything new plot wise. The conflict that kept Tally and Rome apart was kept hush for most of the book and I did not really feel the romance part of it. It just felt rushed and the chemistry really seemed off. I would have enjoyed some more deep diving into the characters thoughts at times. However, I loved all the puppies in the book. I have not read the other seven books in this series, whichis probably stories of other Rivers family members, so perhaps that is why I was less invested in these side characters. I found out it was a series way after I started and did not want to DNF another book, but I think it would of benefited me more, if I read the whole series. But this book can definitely be read as a standalone. It was a cute sapphic romance but I probably would not reach it for a reread. I probably may read the other seven books in the series.

Tally Dewilde, a veterinarian, chose to work in an animal hospital in the country instead of a city pet boutique. Roman Ashcroft is one of River’s community Hospital’s newest PA. Both originally from the Upper east side, meets again by chance in the country when Rome found a bag of abandoned puppies and brought them to the animal hospital where Tally works. Both shares a mysterious past that has caused a riff between them. And now both have to come to terms with their path now crossing once again, with possible feelings between them.

There is just something about a book that takes place in a small/rural setting that just draws me in. This one did not disappoint.The way Radclyffe described the tight knit community and how they supported each other was wonderful. From the town showing up to cheer on the high school sports teams to the teenagers rallying around Rome and helping her foster 6 puppies.
I enjoyed the masterful way Radclyffe weaved Tally's perceived impression of Rome to the women she sees taking on fostering puppies and the way she treats others in the community. Tally and Rome have a rocky past that is not ideal for writing a love story around which I do applaud the author for tackling. I did feel like the conclusion to the supposed crime and the two main characters falling in love seemed a bit rushed. I have not read the other books in this series (yet) but it was easy to follow and understand who the other characters are.

This was another wonderful, sweet story from Radclyffe that was perfect for a light summer read. I have a special affinity for Radclyffe’s stories because she was one of the very first queer authors I found. I’ve always been an avid romance reader and finding Radclyffe’s stories was a special time in my life. I just LOVE her Rivers series and this is a wonderful addition to the series.
I enjoy seeing the other Rivers characters and getting glimpses of how their lives and love has continued to grow. Roman Ashcroft is a wonderful addition to the Rivers world. I really adored her character's integrity, courage, and humility. A woman from Rome’s past, Tally Dewilde, is gripped by her past and her wealthy family. Running into Rome has Tally’s world flipped upside down and questioning the past she thought she knew.
I would have liked to have seen more development in their relationship. I felt like some of their interactions could have been a little bit deeper. I had a little challenge with how quickly they fell for each other when the bulk of the book, there was tension and intentional avoidance. I would have liked to see a little more of what drew them to each other but overall I really enjoyed the story.
I really hope Blake will get a story in the future. Again, I just love the whole Rivers community and really enjoy each installment of this series. Radclyffe will always be an author I know will deliver great stories with wonderful, strong female characters.

The premise for this book got my attention instantly. Puppies!!! I found both MC’s likeable, but especially Rome. It has a cute love story, but I do think it at times lacked some necessary building when it came to the progression of things. It also has wholesome side characters. I enjoyed this book. It was my first book in this series, so those who have read the other books will, I’m sure, enjoy the background characters even more than I did.

This is the 8th (?) book in the Rivers Community Romances series by Radclyffe, but it can be read as a standalone. You have characters from the other books in this one, with already established relationships so it makes you want to go back to read those ones, if you haven't read them.
Finders Keepers is a cute romance story about enemies-to-lovers/second-chance (not love)/ and realising what it means to assume the worst in people but not actually knowing the whole story.
Ex-Military, Rome finds a bag of dumped puppies on the road on the way to her first day at work as a PA (Physician Assistant), where she takes them immediately to the vet clinic where she meets the Vet, and someone from her past, Tally. The book alludes to something that Tally thinks Rome did to her sister when they were younger, so we get one-sided hate, but totally confusing other feelings from Tally, and admiration and guilt from Rome.
Because Rome really didn't want to leave the puppies and wanted everything to do with them, the women had more interactions together and of course feelings grow, and they have a lot more sexual tension than they can handle. These moments were cute, funny and sometimes a little frustrating because you really just want to find out what Tally thinks Rome did all those years ago. It isn't until nearer the end of the book you find out, and you just want to scream and ask why it took so long for them to talk about it.
The community was queer and great. Found family all around. The teenagers and their willingness to help out with the puppies were fantastic, and I LOVED the way that Rome bonded with Bravo and treated her like she was part of the army.
This was my first Radclyffe book, but certainly not my last.

Finders Keepers, A 'Rivers Community Romance’ Book 8 by Radclyffe is a delightful slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance; one that I’m glad I had the chance to read. It also has puppies…six adorable, bright eyed, floppy eared, soft and cuddly puppies. I admit it. I’m an absolute sucker for sweet, furry baby animals. Add them to a romantic couple in a story, and I’m hooked.
I’ve enjoyed reading all of the Rivers Community novels and grab any new ones I see when they come out. I know that with each story I’ll get to see all of the folks I’ve come to know and love from the past books. Each novel is set in the same village, as well as the Rivers Community Hospital, and of course connected in some way to the Rivers family. This tale begins when Roman Ashcroft finds six abandoned puppies on her way to her first day as a PA at the Rivers hospital. When she takes them to a vet hospital on the way to work, she is suddenly faced with a past she thought she had left behind in the form of Dr. Tally Dewilde, the new veterinarian in town.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all my favorite characters and places from the past stories. Tally and Rome make a great addition to the population of Rivers. They have an obvious connection even with their painful past. Theirs is an extremely slow-burn romance, almost too slow for me, but the chemistry between them is definitely hot. Then of course there are the puppies. No one can resist these babies.
This is a great summertime (or any time) read for those of you who enjoy their love stories slow and sweet.

Another story from the Rivers Community where apparently all the women or should I say most find themselves to be members of the LGBTQIA+ community, or so the story goes.
Rome Ashcroft, recently retired from the Armed Forces, finds a job at the local hospital where she meets up with her good friend Brody. As you probably remember Brody was good friends with the whole Rivers family. So when she hears from Rome she quickly finds a job for her, as a PA.
Tally Dewilde went against her family by becoming a Veterinarian and now she’s moved to the Rivers Community to become an associate of Val, you know she married Brody. Same characters, a slightly different storyline dealing with pet and farm animals.
While I do enjoy reading these stories, following the timeline is a little hard. The characters have just met but when reading all that has happened it takes at least a week or two only to find out it was indeed just the other day all these things happened. From getting the jobs and quickly becoming an important character where everyone in the whole community looks out for them. Because they are all River’s.
It seems I’m tired of reading these books. They all work hard, love hard and other than slightly different story lines, nothing is new. Radclyffe usually does a better job of bringing these storylines along. Honor, Justice, First Responders, etc had a lot more thought going into another book in all of these series. A pretty good story.

This was actually my first Radclyffe book, i heard so much about said author and when this book poped up on NetGalley for a review i had to grab it. The cover is AWESOME and totally the kind of book i would buy for myself. Sadly i had a realy hard time to come into the book usually i read a book in one or two sittings if i have time (and i had time) but somehow it didnt pull me right into it. We learn right at the start that our two main protagonists Tally and Rome know each other because they are from the same wealthy neigbourhood back in NYC. They meet again in rural area outside New York and i feel thats about it we get to hear about their backstory, altrough its clear the past is a huge point between them in the beginning so i really dont get it.
