Not sure I would describe this as 'the funniest novel I've read all year' (maybe if you like your comedy extra-dark?) but it was certainly one of the more compelling. Not quite unputdownable but almost. Predictable but in an entertaining way if that makes sense. Effectively conveys the nightmarish nature of colonialism and its continuing effects. If you liked Babel, this is a good follow-up IMO.
