[Grey Story]

I wanted to love this so bad. I started skimming this and immediately wanted to DNF. Skimmed through the rest. The premise is great and the cover is gorgeous but the writing was like 300 pages of plot in 100 pages - it was rushed and skipping past so many things. The minotaur Coop didn't live up to the cover, either.

Tough to Tender

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The female lead, with her hard exterior, is a plush toy on the inside. Denying herself the warmth of letting her guard down and always thinking of others first, has left her trusting a handful of people.

Her shield cracks and begins to crumble when she meets the love of her life. Sparks fly as she ventures into a world she’s avoided at all cost.

Never fret, there are obstacles to overcome, bad guys to ferret out, mystery, magic and steamy encounters galore. You won’t have time to become bored.

It was a very good read. I highly recommend - you won’t be disappointed.

Super Cute, super quick

I am a stan for new, black authors. Especially when the writing is great, and this was no exception! Coop and Dev were adorable and though their love seemed hard and fast, sometimes, it be like that! I wish we would have gotten a little more back story on his life and maybe a little bit more time with them together with him in his Minotaur form, and maybe a little more smexy time 😈 but either way this was really good and I loved the chemistry between the we two and the drama that was fit into a book less than 200 pages. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

I wanted to like it but unfortunately the pacing was really off. I am aware it’s a novella but this was really slow then really fast then slow. And unfortunately the paranoia of the FMC was far too much. The plot jumped in way too fast and I really didn’t enjoy it due to the confusing nature of the characters.

There was definitely also a lack of content warning, and the gory murder within the first few pages was a little intense.

There’s definitely some sizzling chemistry between Devyn and Cooper. As a short story there’s a lot going on and I often felt confused with some of Devyn’s sentiments. The dual POV in the same chapter and often in the same paragraph can get really confusing sometimes, but doesn’t necessarily take away from the storyline. Hopefully there will be more about Devyn and Coopers.
