Talwyn is a seer, a wielder and a master archer to make William Tell look like a tyro, yet despite her boss skills, she’s wounded by past loss.

Dreyken is a dragon-shifter and the king of his reclusive tribe. Though surrounded by ambitious females vying to be his queen, he’s deeply lonely, knowing that none of them is “the one.”

But with the Dark Sorcerer and his army of demonkin threatening the land, Talwyn must persuade Dreyken and his hermetic clan to come out of hiding and join with the humans in fighting the threat, all while fighting off her growing attraction to the hunky dragon lord.

“A Tribe of Dragons and Dreamers” is Book 2 in the Trial of Kingdoms series. Author Sherry Leclerc follows up her innovative Book 1.5 concept with yet another daring experiment: a sequel that shifts (no pun intended) to a brand new protagonist, a seer like Maelona from Book 1, but with a very different personality and skill set.

Although the choice to change protagonists may be controversial to some, ultimately I believe it’s a success, as Book 2 delivers more of the thrilling, realistic combat and steamy, inter-species romance that was found in Book 1, all within a fantasy world rich in magical lore, mythical creatures and complex world-building.

I have a hunch that Maelona, Talwyn and perhaps other seers we haven’t seen yet will come together to face the threat posed by the Dark Sorcerer, and I look forward to seeing these relationships further developed in future installments.
