Rate this book
The age of sin is here…

Chased by evil her whole life, Leila was accused of lighting the fire that killed her beloved foster brother Zeke. Now she’s one of the badass assassins fated to wield holy relics that will stop the apocalypse. But when Zeke turns up alive, handsome as the devil and working for her rivals, she’s forced to confront her worst fear… is she evil? Why else would he fake his death and abandon her?

Burdened by guilt, Zeke joined Team Saint as a gunslinging demon hunter to pursue a path of redemption. He failed everyone in his life… including the only girl he ever loved, his foster sister Leila. When an ancient prophecy drops him back into her life, he realizes he has a second chance at making things right. Easier said than done when she would rather he stayed dead.

As Lilith’s dark plan unfolds, Zeke and Leila are forced together on a desperate quest for a weapon that will stop the Horseman of War. And when lies are circling like sharks, their newly forged love could be the salvation the world needs… or the downfall of them all.

For fans of Buffy and Supernatural, this spicy paranormal romance weaves a tale of second chances, foster sibling bonds, and the struggle to reconcile secrets and lies. **Please Note: This series touches on taboo and dark topics, has explicit sexual content, demon-hunting-violence, and is unsuitable for the very young or those sensitive about religion, horror, and demons. HEA guaranteed.

I liked it, there are some interesting advancements in the plot and the whole story with the demons, the prophecies and the apocalypse is exciting and I can’t wait to know more. Leila and Zeke were a good couple with good chemistry, the second chance element was a plus for me, still I wasn't super invested in their relationship and not all of their scenes hit the mark for me, so despite their meaningful history I still prefer Thea and Wesley’s moments.
It’s a small thing but I'm also not a big fan of the fact that there was one scene were Asmodeus could have killed Leila and Zeke on the spot and it makes no sense that he didn't, of course they are the main characters and can't die but the reason they survive can’t be the bad guy who kills a lot of people just lets them alive while they are trying to stop him from getting what he wants.
Despite this though Asmodeus is the highlight of the book for me, my favorite character, and in light of the finale and a line of the prophecy I’m still convinced that he is going to be Tawny’s love interest.

I’m excited about Mercy and Cisco story in the next book, then I imagine we will have something along the line of The Sinner and the Saint with Raven and Dominic, and finally I think Tawny and Asmodeus, and that’s what I'm dying to read most of all.
I’ve red all the deadlyverse books one after the other, now that I’m caught up and have to wait it’s going to be a struggle.

Matter can't be destroyed but can only change forms. Meaning at some point, we all existed in the same form, regardless of who we are today.

We're all made of stardust.

Now I look at Zeke and think... maybe [Mary Magdalene] had a point. I feel closer to him. More connected. Like we truly have some kind of commonality. He revealed parts of himself he's not proud of. He probably would have taken those parts to his grave if it wasn't for this mission.

And I would have let him because I'm not brave enough to reveal the same darkness in my soul. I can't continue being a Sinner if I crack open those feelings. But if he can do it, surely I can find my way there too. As long as he doesn't give up on me.

(4.5⭐️)

Let it be known that I am a sucker for a good second-chance childhood friends-to-lovers romance. I had no idea I had that particular itch that needed scratching, but The Sinner and the Gunslinger hit the spot.

We return to the world of the Sinner Sisterhood, Team Saint, and the Hildegard Abbey. As was teased in the previous book, Leila and Zeke have a shared history, and much of the old solid foundation and present-day angst serves as one of our main points of conflict as these two have to find their way back to each other... because the cracks separating Hell from Earth are threatening to grow, and only the Sinners and Saints coming together prevents that from happening. But also these two just deserve some happiness after everything they've been through.

Running in conjunction with Leila and Zeke healing the rift between them and falling in love, we have the ever-present threat of Hell looming in the background. Lilith has taken over Hell, but that isn't enough for her - she wants to be unleashed upon the world. Our favorite sexy and chaotic demon, Asmodeus, meanwhile, is out wrecking havoc, but I feel like there's so much more to this character than what meets the eye - especially after that ending 👀 Needless to say, I am DYING for more of Azzy. These recent developments just make the possibilities endless!

ESPECIALLY when you take into account the prophecies within the Gospel of Mary.

The pacing for this one was pretty good - everything moves at a pretty fast clip - but I felt like there was something missing from this one, a certain flair or passion that really shown through in the first book. Lana did mention that this book proved a struggle, and there were moments where I could kind of see that coming through. That's not to say it's bad or anything, because this book is anything but. It's still very entertaining, I am totally eating up the Supernatural meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes, and the Tombstone and Dracula references in this book were giving me life!

I don't know. Maybe I was just having trouble losing myself in this couple. I love them together and I enjoyed the angst and the tension, but it just... I don't know. I guess it just wasn't for me, and that's okay. The book is still solid, though (hence the rating).

But you know what prospective couple I was absolutely vibing with? Mercy and Cisco. I need that book and I needed it yesterday. THE POTENTIAL WITH THOSE TWO! Ahhhhhh! I can't wait! And that's all I'll say about that... for now.

TL;DR: this is still a solid book, just not my favorite. Very much enjoying this series/universe, though, and can't wait for more!

When Leila is thrown in to a mission with Zeke, she has to decide if she can forgive the best friend she thought she killed as a teenager. This story gave us love, spice, demons and a splash of the apocalypse.

Leila is strong but weak. She wears her fear of fire for all to see and doesn’t apologize for the things she does to keep herself safe. Zeke has always been drawn to Leila and always been the one to try and protect her. Sometimes in misguided ways. The author gave us a backstory for these two that not only incorporates their shared history but leaves clues in their individual stories that lead us to startling revelations.

The author has once again created a fast paced story that has information so cleverly woven into the chapters that you can’t help but gasp when you make the connections. The interconnections of the prophecies and religious texts and beliefs make this story feel as if it could truly happen. This is a series I will continue to read so I can find all of the hidden clues.

Listen, I personally am not a fan of friends to strangers to lovers, but I do tolerate it if it's interesting enough. So mate, tell me, why the fuck were these two so fucking boring???

The storytelling is even more confusing than the first one. Also, this book somehow managed to make its couple so uninteresting, like, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ZEKE IS TURKISH, AND WE LEARN ABOUT THAT IN A PASSING AND JUST FORGET ABOUT IT??

I feel like neither of them was fleshed out, and the same goes for the first book, too. At least Thea and Wes made that one enjoyable with their dynamic...

One of the only things I liked about this book was Mercy's chapter, simply because she and Cisco had more chemistry in one chapter than Zeke and Leila did in the WHOLE BOOK?! AND THEIR BOOK ISN'T EVEN OUT YET-

2.5 to 2.75 because of TheaWes moments and Mercy's chapter.

All I want is for them to be more fleshed out please? Thank you.

In one more wonderful story in this sequel, we have Thea and Zeke’s story.
*Second chance
*’Supernatural’ vibes (more than the first book)
*Demon hunters
I liked this book more than the first… here we have more about how the Sinners work and more PoV too. Plus Thea and Zeke are really cute together (in the past and the present too- the companionship between them is something that even time can’t erase). Sometimes I was angry with the ‘alpha’ vibes from Zeke? ABSOLUTELY, but Thea is a strong female and managed to handle it very well. Besides the amazing story between the characters, we have more Asmodeus glimpses and I need to say: if I loved him in the first book, now I truly hope to see more of him.

P.S.: Mercy is such a badass… I can’t wait to see her.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Plot - 4/5
Characters - 4/5
Spice - 🌶️🌶️

I love the second chance romance element of the Sinner and the Gunslinger. Lelia and Zeke grew up in the same orphanage together and both believed the other was dead until they showed up at the covenant.

I loved seeing their interactions and absolutely hated the freaky Snuggles doll (I don’t care that it’s no technically evil, it’s freaky as fuck). This sequel follows Leila getting her hands on another secret weapon (ironically, a gun) and creating (?) a soul for Asmodeus.

I am so fucking excited for Mercy and Cisco’s dom story next.

Very much loved Leila and Zeke. By far my favorite couple of the series. I loved their backstory as childhood friends and the separation to reunion that they had.

Tropes to watch out for:

- childhood friends to rivals to lovers
- one bed
- miscommunication

Overall this was a solid book. I had a few dialogue issues and I did not enjoy the pet names (which is a shame because I love a good pet name). Zeke calling her sweetheart was my favorite, I wish we could have stuck with that and not the other ones. They just didn’t seem to fit.

Leila is a badass, and that is one thing this series excels at I think. The FMC’s are all badass in different, intriguing ways.

Admittedly I didn’t enjoy this nearly as much as book one, but childhood friends to lovers also isn’t my favorite trope. The spice was good, which helped. I do still like the concept of this world, so I’ll probably continue with the series.

"I never believed in God...until he put you in my world. And now that he brought me back to you, I believe in miracles."

5 stars!

Trigger warning: religious undertones, horror themes/demon possession, violence/gore

After reading Wesley and Thea's story in book one, I was extremely excited to continue on with Zeke and Leila's secondchance arc, and I was not disappointed! Both Zeke and Leila were forgotten and abandoned souls who found each other in a group foster home after being plagued by unexplained fires and shadowy demon-figures. Zeke became Leila's protector, determined to protect her from danger in all forms and ultimately faking his death in an attempt to lure her demon stalker away from her.

However when they meet years later after believing each other to be dead from separate house fires, theirs isn't a happy reunion between two battered souls. Zeke doesn't recognize this confident and seductive assassin as his innocent Wildcat, while Leila cannot believe that her Huckleberry could have abandoned and forgotten her so callously.

Although the Sinners and Saints need to come together in order to fulfill the prophecy of saving the world, Zeke and Leila's journey to redemption and forgiveness was fraught with obstacles and resistance, but so beautifully written. I loved how both Leila and Zeke wanted each other so desperately but were terrified of being vulnerable towards more heartbreak. Their undeniable attraction and simmering chemistry was so palpable, and I loved watching them accept each other once again. I am so freaking stoked for the next book as Mercy and Cisco promise to be the most taboo and sexy yet!

Tropes: childhood friends-to-lovers, secondchance romance, hate-to-love-you, assassin heroine, tortured hero, 'touch her and die' vibes, slow burn, found family, STEAMY🔥

This book is a thrilling and steamy ride that will keep you hooked from start to finish. The author has created a captivating world where sinners and saints battle for the fate of humanity, and where forbidden love can either save or destroy everything.

The story follows Leila and Zeke, two orphans who were separated by a tragic fire that Leila blamed herself for. Leila became a sinner, a seductive assassin who wields a holy relic to fight demons. Zeke became a saint, a gunslinging hunter who works for a rival organization that wants to stop the sinners. When they reunite after years of believing each other dead, they have to face their past, their feelings, and their destiny.

The characters are complex and flawed, but also strong and loyal. Leila is a fiery heroine who struggles with her guilt and her identity as a sinner. Zeke is a charming hero who carries his own regrets and secrets. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their relationship is full of angst, tension, and passion. They have to overcome many obstacles, both internal and external, to trust each other and work together.

The plot is fast-paced and action-packed, with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author has done a great job of weaving mythology, prophecy, and history into the story, creating rich and original lore. The book also explores themes of redemption, forgiveness, family, and faith.

The writing is engaging and descriptive, with witty dialogue and vivid scenes. The author has a knack for creating memorable secondary characters, such as the other sinners and saints, who add humor, depth, and diversity to the story. The book also has some steamy scenes that are well-written and tasteful.

Overall, this book is a must-read, especially if you like stories of second chances, foster sibling bonds, demon-hunting road trips, and the power of trust. It’s the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Lana does it again! I was able to read this early as part of Lana’s ARC Angels Team.

TSaTG is Book 2 in The Sinner Sisterhood Series and follows Leila and Zeke. This is a slight enemies to lovers, childhood friends, second-chance romance, that has them dealing with the past from the moment Team Saint steps out of the car! Both thought they had lost the other and although Leila recognized Zeke right off the bat, Zeke takes a bit longer to realize Leila is in fact his Wildcat. I loved watching their journey back to each other with forced proximity and one-bed tropes while on a mission. Zeke is ready to let his guard down immediately and show her he’s always loved her, while Leila wants to keep her walls up because he broke his promise to never leave and she’s not ready to have her heart broken again. It was a special moment when they finally let go! Zeke wants to give her all she needs and pushes Leila to get out of her head and to take from him to get hers. She lets go of her doubts and only then is allowed to let herself love.

Throughout their mission for the holy relic, they are fighting through the flames (past and present). Leila discovers her purpose and the reason for all of the things that had happened to her and it’s up to her to fight the demon of her childhood and take on War!

Our resident Demon we can’t get enough of is back and now in a predicament (no spoilers here!). I know we have a lot more story from him to come (and for a certain feature of his I’m itching to read about 😏 IYKYK). I’m also on the edge for our Priest and Promiscuous Sinner because that tension is hot!

Lana is a genius when it comes to weaving this storyline with aspects of demonology, occult studies, religious taboo, and supernatural elements, and I can’t get enough!

🗡️ Women assassins

🗡️ Apocalypse-style overarching storyline
😈 Demons
🗡️ Supernatural/Constantine/Buffy feel
😈 Taboo religion

I adore all of Lana’s books, for I always fall into the story & am lost to the world within, and this one does not disappoint! The heady mix of Supernatural/Constantine/Buffy was given a USA western infusion, and I was here for it!! From Tombstone to a few songs and comments that made my historical western-loving heart go pitter-pat, I was in love! Then there’s Leila & Zeke and their chemistry that’s off the charts hawt will ALL the sparks flying! No characters in any of Lana’s books can escape unscathed of trauma, and these two have their share from their shared background in the foster care system, to misunderstandings, half truths & lies, they have a rough second-chance love, with him being absolutely still in love to her walled-off jaded heart slowly opening back up. Through some enemies-to-lovers fun and excitement, more was revealed of the other sinners and saints. I seriously can’t wait to see what happens with our super sexy Sinners leader and one mysterious Saints priest.
The Horseman of War, AKA Asmodeus, is back in all his debonair dark glory and more of the Hildegarde Sisterhood's roots are revealed with some fabulous twists & turns.
This one was a page turner I couldn’t put down, and I highly recommend this one and book one The Sinner and the Scholar if you haven’t read it yet. This is one urban paranormal series that will blow your socks off!

This series just keeps getting better and better! It’s fantastic. I love that it’s not the same story for each couple. Each one is very individual and engrossing. Lana’s writing is superb and I devour every book she makes! I also love how the world just expands so much with each instalment - in this one we see so much more of the history and the origins of the Hildegard Sisterhood! This series has save the world, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, found family vibes…

Leila and Zeke have a past - once each other’s refuge in Forster homes, they had a fractured ending to their childhood friendship and now need to reconnect and work together to find the next relic to fight against the Four Horsemen… specifically Asmodeus or War. They have hidden secrets, specifically Zeke who is all about the protection. They’ve also done a LOT since they last saw each other. Leila is a hardcore assassin with a dominatrix cover (and you bet that leads to some 🔥🔥 scenes!) and Zeke is a cowboy with a past in gangs but is now fighting for good… their chemistry, banter, reconciliation AND spice(!) is fantastic! Leila is also battling an intense fear of fire, and I love how this was portrayed, showing that no matter how hardcore you are, there’s always something that makes you vulnerable and the battle to overcome it. There’s discoveries, reveals, betrayals, and plot twists galore! I loved every minute of it…

Asmodeus is still a terrifying demon of hell, trying to win. He is a brilliant foe in the battle between good and evil!

I don’t know what it is about these books that keep me coming back, if I’m being honest. There’s something so addictive about reading them and they’re also just really easy, fun reads. I thought the writing in this one was better than in the first and the character’s back stories were more interesting, more fleshed out and well developed in comparison to Thea and Wes who felt a little more two dimensional.

This was a four star book but there were a couple of things I couldn’t look past and that’s why I couldn’t rate it higher than 3.75 stars. Firstly, I don’t think the author writes a very strong romance, the romance tends to take a back seat and doesn’t pack enough punch for me. The other issue I have is that the dialogue can be a bit strange and there were a few inconsistencies that frustrated me. It was fun and kept me hooked but something just wasn’t hitting quite right.

P.s I understand this is a paranormal romance but the whole not even considering or discussing birth control thing confuses me. It’s still set in a contemporary world and therefore shouldn’t birth control be a thing?

I would recommend it if you loved the Supernatural TV series, a second chance romance and heroines who can kick anyone's ass.

Needless to say that this series is definitely not the same as the other ones, it’s way darker and I love it for that !! First, because the subject is around demons and kind of the end of the world or demonic invasion so not a happy moment, and secondly because of the MCs, let it be Sinners or Saints they all have a past that haunts them.

We’re finally back with our favourites Sinners and Leila is sooo interesting, she’s the weapon master and she has her own quirks, safety first !! You can feel the strong influence of her training and her life as a sinner on her attitude, her actions !! It’s like she got shaped a certain way and that was dimmed while bonding with her Sinner’s group. We all influence each other, care and support each other.
I really loved the fact that Leila and Zeke have a common past - however, now they’re like strangers who don’t know how to interact with each other. It’s difficult to leave the past, the pain behind. However, they have to work together to find the next relic - soooo be ready for some action !!
Zeke was also soooo interesting, he has a really dark persona that he built himself while fighting and going forward, he would do anything to protect Leila and finally have her !

I love that series so much, I cannot wait to read the next book !!! I’m really curious about how all the other couples will form, it’s so intense and exciting !!! (I’m internally screaming while thinking about it)

I received an ARC Copy of this book, this review is from my own thought 😍

* I received and e-ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

The Sinner and the Gunslinger, book 2 in The Sinner Sisterhood Series, picks up right where book 1 left off. There is some time hops in the beginning but the reader is thrust right back into the present time period to follow Leila and Zeke on their mission to find the next holy relic.

I really enjoyed Leila and Zeke’s relationship. Second chance romance always works for me, and throw in some childhood friends to lovers? Sold. I think this background also made it easier for me to fell and buy their connection. Yes this whole series is fated mates, but sometimes that troupe can be too insta-lovey, but with this twist on it it felt just right. Their relationship was sweet and spicy, which also worked for me.

The plot of this book also hooked me more than the first book. The first book had more to carry with introducing the world to the readers, which allowed the plot of this book to be free from that. I think the prophecy was dived into more and we had more interaction with the other sinners. I am interested in seeing what happened to the baddy of this book, but only time will tell!

Overall this was a good second installment in this series. We laid some foundation for the next book (The Sinner and the Priest), which is always a good things, and we left off on a cliffy that isn’t terrible. I can’t wait for Mercy and Cisco story and I am only sad because I have to wait until next year for it!

Lana has a way of combining DaVinci code mysteries with apocalyptic suspense and added in some kick-butt heroines and conflicted religious heroes to create the Sinner and Saint series. She's taken some of the infamous names from religious texts, Mary Magdalene, Lilith, and more, and created a scenario that is face-paced, suspenseful, romantic, and spicy.

The Sinners and Saints are working overtime to stop War/Asmodeus and keep the cracks closed so no more demons can get into this realm. There is still a lot of conflict between sides and plenty of suspicion. Zeke and Leila have a past and that portion of the story is bittersweet. This is truly a second chance for these two. It takes them a while to get there but it is worth it. And the action of these two working together is *chef's kiss* perfection. The Hildegarde Sisterhood's roots are brought to the forefront and some extra legend is added to make this such a fun and exciting read I hated to see it end knowing we have a wait before the next installment in the series.

Lana continues to prove she writes urban fantasy as well as her hybrid fantasies (which I love too). I would highly suggest grabbing this book as well as The Sinner and the Scholar and dive into this complex but highly entertaining world of demon slayers with a plot you can get your teeth into.

At the end of book 1 we realize that Leila and Zeke have a past, and the little breadcrumbs that Lana gave us had me hooked! I needed to know what their history was, and I needed it asap! Lana did not let us down one bit! Leila and Zeke's story is filled with heartache, young love, the pains of growing up alone and so much emotion that it literally rips your heart out of your chest! The pain that each of them have to live with because of their painful separation just makes you desperate for them to reconcile. These two are definitely destined to be together, but there's so much pain and heartache for them both to overcome to make it back to each other. The journey and the story of this book is filled with danger and intrigue. Leila proves that she's a bada**, but what I loved was seeing her softer side show as the story progressed. And it was amazing to see Zeke fall back into that protector role he had when they were growing up. This story does a nice job of progressing the overarching storyline while giving us a perfect standalone feel with these two characters. Lana sets up book 3 perfectly, as well, and now I can't wait until I can Mercy and Cisco's story! Highly recommend this series if you love fantasy, magic, high intensity storyline and spice!

Rating: 3.5⭐️/5⭐️ (Rounded Up)

Leila, a Sinner, was an orphan that was haunted by fires. She met a someone who helped those days become easier in a home of parent less children. Now, with an apocalypse on the rise she must work with the Saint who she’s been avoiding, Zeke, to find another relic.

A second chance romance isn’t usually my cup of tea but the fact that there has been years that passed and the animosity there made it a lot better. My rating would have been a four star but I was very out off by the age difference in the last. Zeke is five years older than Leila and the fact that he was having inappropriate thoughts about her when he was 17 and her 12 is weird. It just gave me the ick. Also there is a scene where they’re talking about if he would have been the one to take her virginity and the ages are discussed. Yes, they play it off saying he would have been too honorable but it still put me off.

HOWEVER

Everything else I enjoyed! Badass chicks kicking demon asses! The bantering. The spice. The plot. I have to say I was thinking Asmodeus would joking team Saint since he has a soul and maybe something happens between him and Tawny. But maybe not? Just a thought. Interested in Mercy’s story. Her and Cisco will be *chefs kiss*

'Some cultures believe there is an invisible red thread that joins two souls together no matter where they are.'

"I'll never regret fighting for you. I just regret I did it wrong."

Lei Ling & Zeke were in foster care as kids & always had each others back, until a fire split them up & sent them on different paths, that would eventually lead them back together as adults. Lei Ling is now Leila, a kickass Sinner assassin for the Hildegard Sisterhood & is forced to team up with the man she thought died in the fire as a boy. Together they must face their past so they can work together, so they can hunt down another relic to stop the demons wanting to end the world.

I did find the beginning half a little slow, but thats because it kept jumping between the past and the present. The flashbacks did show how important Zeke & Lelia were / are to each other & how it shaped them into who they became, but I just kept wanting to get back to the present & what was happening now. Did love the carnage Asmodeus left in his wake as he always was on the hunt for the relic.

The series is described as Constantine meets Supernatural, this also had a bit of Wynonna Earp vibes towards the end. Im so excited for Mercy's book next.

Leila and Zeke are fated to be together! They grew up together and Zeke was always her protector. This book is a mixed POV with past and present scenes.

These characters each thought that the other was dead, but when Leila sees Zeke pull up to the abby and he doesn’t recognize her, she is understandably upset. He is her Huckleberry, her protector and he looks past her. When he finally realizes who she is, he is shocked. How can this beautiful women be the sweet innocent wildcat that he believed died long ago.

Their story is a second chance love story between two people who came from a similar background and only had each other to rely on.

I loved to see all of the moments past and present between these characters. I also enjoyed seeing how the overarching plot moved along with more of the prophecy being revealed.

I cannot wait to read the next book The Sinner and the Priest!! Mercy and Cisco are going to be 🔥! Kinda sad we have to wait for next year, but understandable since we are getting more Fae Guardian books!

Overall this series is fantastic so far and I can’t wait to see how it all ends and I can’t wait to experience each Sinner’s love story!!

This series is getting better with each book. I love me a second chance romance and I really felt that the history between Leila and Zeke helped significant with their relationship development into full blown lurve.

Without spoilers, many cool and intriguing things happen, including some history on how the Sinners came to be and more information on the overarching story which is super amazing and I really want to talk to someone about it but this was an ARC and I don't want to spoil things!

Anyway, if you love second chance romance, the 'he falls first', miscommunication (though TBH it wasn't throw the book at the wall miscommunication but a realistic miscommunication, you'll under understand when you read it) and technically a one bed trope with a mix of action, adventure, prophecy, demons...then this is the book for you.

I received an ARC and because I am currently freezing my butt off, despite being under an electric blanket, I have left an honest review

I can not recommend this series enough. This is book 2 and I am fully committed to seeing where this story goes. Dark world, badass characters, and all the evil conspiring demon bad guys to battle.
Leila and Zeke were best friends as children. Both without parents and living in the same group home. Both with experiences of monsters.
After events had them both believing the other was dead, they didn’t expect to meet again on opposite sides. Team Sinners and team Saint. Leila is beyond pissed that not only did Zeke leave her thinking he was dead, but he didn’t recognise her now either.
But now the two have to work together to help stop all these demons from breaking free. There is more than one evil conspiracy going on, and maybe even more going on with team saint’s bosses.
I loved seeing these two come together and reconcile their past. Their backstory was gorgeous, and I loved seeing their knew relationship grow. They were both total badasses and each complemented the other in their approaches to their mission.
Despite their wins, bad things are still going down, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This book for me went back and forth between a four star, a three star and a few times a five star. There were parts that really pulled me in, like Zeke championing a young Leila and trying his best to protect her even at physical abuse to himself.

I loved Leila’s strength in the face of her perceived weakness in herself. The man-child that Zeke was as he tried to do right by Leila as a type of atonement for not being able to help his baby sister.

Second chance romances are usually not my thing so the push and pull got a bit wearing at times, I’m not one for lots of angsty conflict and it pulled me out of the story at times.

The book has some serious religious weight to it and mixing it with the strong, will rip your face off ladies in the mix kept things interesting.

I wasn’t able to immerse myself fully with this offering as I did with the first book in the series, but that’s the way it is with some books.

I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.

Absolutely loved this newest installment to our Sinner Series!
To see what has created the characters to turn out and be where they are in life was heartbreaking and inspiring.
The character development, romance, drama with such scary and terrifying situations to come out of made me anxious throughout the journey.
I will have to re-read this over and over and “snuggle” this with my collection of Lana Pecherczyk’s books on my shrine to her.
She makes such wonderful works of art that just suck you into these alternate realities and forget the real world for a time.
I suppose I will now have to catch up on the housework and stop ignoring the spouse! 😅🤣
I’m excited to read the next book in the series. Based off what I read in this one it sounds like it’s going to be intense!
I do want to say you should read her books in order since there is a lot that carry’s over. It’s worth it, trust me!

I loved this so much more than the first book! I devoured it so fast and I hate that I have to wait until 2024 to get the next book.

As the world-building was mostly established in the previous book, we were able to just dive right into the story. The pacing was great and I never felt bored whenever I was reading. Zeke and Leila were also interesting and compelling leads. The chemistry and banter between the two of them was just excellent! Second chance romances are quickly becoming one of my favorite tropes and this book was a perfect example of why that is the case.

All in all, an amazing follow up to the first book! I can’t wait to read Mercy’s book next. She has always been a character that intrigued me and I’m excited to see how her love story plays out!

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
Actual Rating: 4.5/5
I greatly enjoyed the story of Leila and Zeke. This is so far my favourite of the Sinner Sisterhood books but I might be a little biased because I love second chance romances. Their relationship was heart-wrenching and beautiful but also hilarious at times. The story established in The Sinner and the Scholar flowed seamlessly into this and Lana continued her amazing technique of providing the introduction of the next couple by including a chapter in the POV of one of the main characters for the next book.

The only problem I had with this was that on the flashbacks it kept jumping around so it would take a minute for me to realize where specifically in their past we were. I wish there was something at the beginning of the flashbacks saying when it was.

I was pretty bored through book 1. There was only one full spicy scene, and it lacked (🌶 1 out of 5). Book 2 was better. It got me invested more into the characters. It still feels like it's missing excitement. (🌶 1.5 out of 5) Little too much fluff. I feel like each book will improve (the reason why I gave this book 4 ⭐️ instead of 3), so I will continue reading as they release. The plot/arc is a fantastic idea. Feirce, spicy female assassins working for the nuns. 🤩 I couldn't say no! Here's to hoping🤞🏻the next one grants us some excitement and better adventures. I agreed with another reviewer, I feel like Asmo might hook up with a sinner. Please, 🙏🏻 I beg you, 🙏🏻 PLEASE don't let that one lack 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Asmo is known for his 🌶🍆🥵 Let that story blow our minds! We need heavily written details! 😂🤩
