I spent an unforgettable night with a silver fox stranger. Turns out he’s my dad’s best friend. I haven’t seen him in over a decade. Definitely not the damaged Navy SEAL my dad used to hang with. He’s confident and sexy and doesn’t hold back from letting me know exactly what he wants. His sharp jaw draws me in and his chiseled arms give me shivers. Before I know it, he takes me to his room and shows me what an experienced man feels like. Turns out I like it. A LOT. We both can’t get enough of each other. Things get even more complicated when I find out his daughter is my roommate for the week. She makes it her mission to find out who my mystery man is. Our crazy off-limits fling has to end the minute we get home. But it might be hard now that I’m pregnant.
A destination wedding—especially if the destination is some place exotic and very different from the grey, towering environment of New York City—such as the lush green and blues of the exotic Hawaiian Islands— is a solid “yes”. And when brother, Carl, is the groom at the destination event? Then, wedding becomes an event not to miss. And if, as the groom’s sister, Kim, has a role in the wedding party as a bridesmaid, then the wedding becomes an event to not only experience with joy, but also to feel encouraged to seek her own happily-ever-after—for now.
So, anticipating the travel event where she would be one of the bridesmaids, Kim Bryant, a curvy beauty with green eyes, wavy brunette locks and a light caramel tan, was excited as she anticipated the flight headed west. And, she was certainly excited about the possibility of meeting a fellow attendee for her own wedding adventure. But one thing was certain, she was not looking for a moment with the hotel’s cute bellhop—too young. And, the groom’s friend who was her age and who was definitely attractive was just right, but all wrong in age.
What Kim wanted was a fling with an older, more mature man, a silver fox—just like her dad’s currently single best friend. But, she didn’t anticipate that the silver fox-friend of dad was also the father of a fellow bridesmaid who was her assigned roommate for the wedding. But, one detail she hadn’t given much thought to was collecting mementoes to take home from the happy family and friends gathering. And she had never considered that the memento would be one that would not be fully revealed for 9-months—a memento that might rock her life and destroy her dad’s years of friendship.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I enjoyed the older man-younger woman romance, but was constantly distracted by the numerous grammar issues, especially with pronouns. Such grammatical errors are distracting to the reader and undercut the writer’s claim that the heroine is a college graduate. The writer needs to consider adding an editor to the writing team.
This book has plenty of forbidden steam going on. Lisa Ryan came up with an interesting plot for Surprise Baby for Daddy's Best Friend that got my attention from the beginning and never let go. I couldn't put this book down until I read the last page. Something I really loved about the story was how Lisa included many characters that were a huge part of Jared and Kim's love story. There was not one character that I didn't like because it was impossible not love them all. The story was interesting and chalked full of excitement that made this book worth reading.
Jared is best friends with Kim's dad and these two share an evening of blissful passion before they find out. It gets a little awkward and intense between them. Everyone is in Hawaii for Kim's brothers wedding. Now they need to keep their distance to ensure no one finds out what happened. Kim is sharing a room with Jared's daughter which makes it really difficult for them to share private moments. Trying to stay away from each other is proving to be difficult as they are pulled together like magnets. All of the fun on the island will stay on the island and they have agreed once they get home it will never happen again. It was all going as planned until they find out Kim is carrying his baby. Now we wait and see how everyone reacts once they hear the news.

Both Kim & Jared meet in Maui. Instant attraction leads to a one-night stand. Their lives become complicated when they learn Kim’s dad is also Jared’s best friend plus Jared’s daughter is sharing a room in Maui with Kim while they are all attending the same wedding. Oh my!
How can Kim & Jared keep their hands off each other, keep their attraction a secret from everyone for the week then leave the island & go their separate ways? Even though there is an age gap between them, she is very attracted to older men & she’s the perfect woman who brings the teenage boy out of him. He feels young & alive again, feeling the love when all these years, he felt he didn’t deserve anyone in his life. Having an obsession with each other cannot keep them apart & an unexpected surprise pregnancy brings out the best of them, time to learn about each other more during the pregnancy. Will everyone else judge these two while they are publicly dating? Will the gossip be the deciding factor on a blissful marriage or will it be too much for them, considering they love each other?

I was the lucky recipient of another ARC from Lisa and, as usual, I loved it!
This story follows Kim, a young 20 something attending her brother’s destination wedding in Maui. She’s sharing a room with Mandi, one of the other bridesmaids but, rather than stay in on her first night in paradise, she goes out with her brother and future sister in law and meets a gorgeous silver fox while out.
Jared is a somewhat lonely guy minding his own business at a bar, and then, he sees her. He and Kim spend a raunchy night together but it’s the next day that they realise who they are - Jared is Mandi’s dad and Kim’s Dad’s best friend.
As usual, Lisa brings the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ She seamlessly moves through chapters and the reader is easily able to follow along. I love a good HAE and, coupled with one of my favourite tropes of an age gap romance, this was the perfect Sunday afternoon read.
Meet and greet - a night of fun. After the pleasure comes the understanding. Again, - Dads : old best friends and always includes a daughter.
Jared : a volatile person who has experienced much but is also a warm person who is also getting out of the darkness. Not aligning him as a bad character, but a troublesome man who is getting better.
Kim : younger person, hence age difference but always fancies a silver fox in a partner. Both were attending the wedding of her brother and …… the story goes along.
No further spoiling. A note to self and readers, there appears to be many “best friend & babies” storylines at the moment. No disrespect to Lisa Ryan as this was an enjoyable read but feels a little like others i have read & reviewed. Please don’t allow my additional notes to guide you away from this read.
So... overall I liked the premise but there were so many errors. Last chapters switched character names and one was even a mislabeled pov. I thought the story had promise but several important things were glossed over and overlooked. Clearly Jared is dealing with some issues that aren't really talked about and the fact that there's some implied abuse on a previous partner. His behavior at times was very unhinged like serious therapy should have been involved but we end the book with him just being like yeah I feel better now. 🙄 Sex is their main the connection and aside of that they don't really connect. He clashes with her brother during a dinner and the age aspect would seem to be a bigger issue than it's made to be. I wish this had been explored and that they both acknowledged and worked together with some help to overcome obstacles that would more than likely arise.

Kim goes away for her brother and sister in law’s wedding. She is attracted to older men and on her first night she has a hot fling with Jared.
She doesn’t realise that he is her dad’s best friend and roommate’s dad!
They have a hot affair over the week and agree not to see each other again. Cue the surprise pregnancy. I liked how the author wrote about Kim being RH negative as this isn’t really spoke about all that much. After the baby drama, will the couple end back together and try and be a family.
This book was an easy read and flowed well. I would like to read more Lisa Ryan books in the future.

So, they don't contact each other once they return home yet when things get complicated for Kim its Jared that turns up. Will they finally make their relationship public?

I enjoyed this story. The ending leaves a bit to be desired only because I felt the author could have taken us a bit further into the future with a second epilogue or an addition to the epilogue included but, other than that, it was a good read. I enjoyed and that's all that really matters. I like that the couple wasn't instalove or something truly unbelievable. The couple met on vacation and had a fling, which turned into more after they went home and had some time apart. They found their way back together and the rest is history. I would have liked it if this was a series so I could read more about Mandi, Jessica, Amanda and Carl, or maybe even Maurice.
Kim is attending her brother’s destination wedding in Maui, when she meets a sexy silver fox in the bar, and they end up spending a spicy night together. Next morning, she finds out that Jared is the father of Mandi, who is one of the other bridesmaids, and Kim’s roommate, but he is also her dad’s best friend. This is a well written story which has emotions, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining easy to read romance story. Traveling to a destination wedding, Kim is on the prowl for an older man with experience to spend the night with. Jared is perfect for her plans and the two of them enjoy their time together. Two strangers - Kim and Jared - share a connection and one night. Then learn they're not quite strangers, as Jared is an old friend of Kim's father. And his daughter is Kim's roommate for a week.
Their connection goes beyond the one night, and they can't resist the pull towards each other. But will it go further? And what will people think when they find out?
Fun read, with great characters and lots of feels!.

A great age gap novel that contains a sexy silver fox. Kim & Jared's connection is undeniable but when they realise who each other is will this just be a wedding fling? Little do they realise their lives are about to be forever changed. Will there be fireworks when family & friends find out?.

This was better than expected, bearing in mind I was bracing for super cringe when both Kim and Jarod realise that Maurice is Kim's dad. That sick feeling never came and I actually liked them as a couple. Overall the story was good, and kept me hooked enough to want to know what happened next.

Jared and Kim’s story has them meeting in a bar after a wedding. He is her dads bf and her roommate’s dad. A good age gap, drama induced, emotional packed story that has you reading to see what these entertaining characters endure. I volunteered to read for my honesty.

The story in and of itself was fine, but the author would mix up names or change the spelling of a name throughout the book. As someone who is a big reader, it drives me crazy when peace only use spellchecker, but don't bother to read through their own damn books. I guess this is why it my first time reading this author's book.
The storyline was decent. There were a few errors with correct name placement. MMC talked a little too much intensely about his wealth yet nothing was out of the ordinary in expense that he did outside of ordering rental cars. The main characters didn’t waste unnecessary time trying to talk themselves out of being together once the reconnected.
Really enjoyed Jared and Kim’s story, just a little spice (that was very good) added to a story that had a beginning, middle and end. Wouldn’t mind hearing more about their story.

The story started pretty good and had a lot of promise but the end felt totally rushed and jumped ahead 6 months with no lead up to it. The last chapter said it was Jared’s POV but was actually Kim’s.
