Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a must read for any gothic horror enthusiast. The story is seen through the main characters diary entries, whilst this was an interesting concept I found it a bit distracting at times. For a novel published in 1897 it reads progressively with male characters who are not afraid to be emotional and have genuine care for one another and female characters who aren’t helpless but their intelligence and longing to defeat Dracula are key to the story.I very much enjoyed Dracula and can understand the lasting effect that this novel has had on horror and pop culture.
Rlly disappointed eventho the writing is rlly good. Bram rlly shot himself in the foot by having the events escalate so fast in the beginning and then try to compensate with the girls’ boring life events. I couldn’t finish the book bc it’s giving me a reading slump.
This book also doesn’t make sense in the modern era bc we all know what a vampire is and their powers. Bram could’ve made this book timeless if he didn’t reveal who the count was so fast and if he introduced more characters in the beginning. 😢
