A great, well thought out path for setting and achieving goals. The book begins with a couple chapters about mindset, transitions to a goal-setting framework, then discusses execution, and finishes with encouragement. I especially appreciate that this book is not just about “positive thinking,” nor is it simply a prescription for “life hacks.” This book is a holistic approach to goal setting and achievement, and Hyatt’s approach encourages a “make-it-your-own” flexibility that adapts to any person or circumstance.

I’ve had the privilege of listening through Michael Hyatt’s podcast, and he released the chapters of this book as episodes at the end of last year. So I sorta listened to the audiobook?

Really thought it would be exactly what he talks about in the podcast, but I there was a surprising amount of fresh content here! I am still a tad skeptical about the fact that in most cases, our problems can be overcome with a mindset shift, but I’m not quite ready to dismiss that claim either. Overall, I think there are incredible and practical tips in here for radically improving perceived quality of life by tackling the stories that we tell ourselves.
