3.5 stars. Solid issue. A big scrap and an escape. The things that really have my attention is where DID that Wolverine hand come from and what’s going on with Maverick and Ramirez.

- The X-Desk agent is… evil?? What.

- Maverick's unwillingness to join the “hand-holding Krakoan cult” (as he calls it) raises a question: what happens when a mutant who has refused to be a Krakoan citizen dies? Do they get resurrected? Does Cerebro regularly copy and back up their consciousness anyway, without their express permission?

- I really like the artwork in this issue and the previous one. Particularly the way the panels are arranged in the action scenes.

So, my complaint from last issue still holds true. Even though Wolverine's memory loss was supposed to have been cured after House of M? We're just going to gloss over that and return to the status quo of amnesia, but with no in-story explanation for why. Maverick was last seen in his Agent Zero persona in the 2020 Doctor Doom miniseries, but he is now inexplicably back to wearing the Maverick costume and using the Maverick codename.

Previously, we had no idea whether the writers had any inkling what the state of Maverick's powers is. But I think based on something Wolverine said, Maverick is still powerless? Ever since he was depowered after House of M? (How weird that Maverick keeps his effect from House of M, but Wolverine doesn't, and no one's going to question this.)

Anyway. They had a fight. Because some factions want to buy or steal Maverick's services. (Despite the fact he is apparently still powerless.) At one point during the fight Logan threw a squid at somebody's face. Because that's a really effective battle strategy.

This is just bad.

This issue was just gorgeous, and while Adam Kubert should get a lot of the credit for that, colourist Frank Martin should also get a lot of credit too, particularly for the double page spread of Logan and Maverick running across the waterfront in Madripoor at sunset. Simply stunning.

The action is fairly standard Wolverine stuff, with the main intrigue coming from the fact that Maverick has no interest in moving to Krakoa. He's happy doing the mercenary thing. But I can't help wondering if we're going to return to this at some point.

Anyway, this is cracking stuff.

Action is always good in a comic with Logan in. The contrary animosity then comeraderie between the two was a good interplay and Mavericks disdain of Krakoa was interesting, we don't have all happy and aligned mutants.

Good issue.

Really good! The best Wolverine since the reboot. Murk past, untrustworthy allies. Maverick must have lost his powers at some point, probably M-Day. From the look of things he's about to be a double agent. I'm digging the art here too.

Benjamin Percy just really knows how to write a good Wolverine story. The ghosts of his past, his demeanor, everything. I love all the tiny boxes grids in these pages, running through, it's got a lot of kinetic energy when called for, and dizzying dialogue when needed.

It's great to see the return of a classic Weapon X character, and the way Percy writes them, it's as if they haven't missed a day.

Love the growth we're seeing here. The action is fun, too. Fast paced panel movement.
