I’m rarely comfortable with the evil AI trope, and that is the key to this last book of the series. There’s a lot of discussion and speechifying, but we finally move to a conclusion of this second series, and it’s conceit of how the characters interact with the Dancer aliens elevates the story, along with the ultimate destination. The powerful conclusion links back in with the first series, and the climax is 5 star.
