Takeover—One Last Chance for Humanity Since the announcement of Unbounded existence, the mortal world has quickly polarized. One faction wants all Unbounded—Renegade and Emporium—dead. Others worship them as gods who have come to save the world and bring it immortality. The tension between these groups is ready to explode. Meanwhile, the Emporium has a new player, one who has upped the stakes in the battle for humanity. Many innocent mortals are sacrificed as the Emporium Triad grabs for control. As Erin Radkey, Ritter Langton, and their Renegade allies struggle to stay one step ahead of the enemy, their increasing abilities are tested to the limit—as is their trust in each other. They have only one chance to change the game, to save humanity. A desperate plan that requires an ultimate price no one can bear to pay. But everything is not always what it seems, especially in the world of the Unbounded. “The Takeover amazingly pulls in threads from all the previous novels for a richly satisfying series conclusion. From Jace’s parentage and Stella’s baby, to Keene’s ability and Cort’s past, it all comes together. The Unbounded series is one that will always stand out in my mind.” Jody Babcock Note from the Thank you so much for going on this journey with me. The Takeover is the final installment in the Unbounded series—at least for this generation. (There eventually may be a few more spin-off novellas.) But I have other series in the works, and I hope to see you again in their pages. Enjoy! Teyla Branton
Teyla Rachel Branton grew up avidly reading science fiction and fantasy and watching Star Trek reruns with her large family. They lived on a little farm where she loved to visit the solitary cow and collect (and juggle) the eggs, usually making it back to the house with most of them intact. On that same farm she once owned thirty-three gerbils and eighteen cats, not a good mix, as it turns out. Teyla always had her nose in a book and daydreamed about someday creating her own worlds. She is now married, mostly grown up, and has seven kids, so life at her house can be very interesting (and loud), but writing keeps her sane. She thrives on the energy and daily amusement offered by her children, the semi-ordered chaos giving her a constant source of writing material. Grabbing any snatch of free time from her hectic life, Teyla writes novels full of mystery, romance, and imagination. She warns her children that if they don’t behave, they just might find themselves in her next book! She’s been known to wear pajamas all day when working on a deadline, and is often distracted enough to burn dinner. (Okay, pretty much 90% of the time.) A sign on her office door reads: DANGER. WRITER AT WORK. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. She loves writing fiction and traveling, and she hopes to write and travel a lot more. She also loves shooting guns, martial arts, and belly dancing. She has worked in the publishing business for over twenty years.
I can't believe it's over this is truly the last book of Erin and Ritter and all the other unbounded. I loved this series it was really something els. This final installment was so freaking awesome I just loved it. I really liked the ending and feel that it was a real well written one. Nothing in this book was rushed or left unanswered. I truly feel that I got to read great ending to a great Series. Thank you Teyla Branton for an amazing ending to your awesome Unbounded series. I will be keeping an eye out for your future books. You really got to see how much Erin had grown through out the series in this final book. I loved how we got to see all the awesome renegades battle it out one last time. Also a few surprises that I really liked and thought made this book even more interesting.
Intense almost from start to finish. Although there has to be at some point in time a next generation with the little peak at the end. Other than that she did not disappoint. Well worth the wait.
Good ideas; the characters had fun abilities and how they all worked together. Overall I enjoyed the series, but I didn’t fly through it if I were truly captivated.
The writing was flat with a lot of discussion and planning of their operations. I didn’t need to be involved in all of their meetings! The characters were portrayed using the same describing words and didn’t grow too much beyond their initial personalities. (Ritter- growl, Mari- fun loving, Jeane- sexy, Eden- freckles, Jace- impulsive) etc
Still worth a read, but just be aware to not expect too much!
A superb conclusion to this part of the series...apparently there are spin-off stories, too.
It was a meaningful story with themes such as power, greed, arrogance, elitism, love and family There was certainly sorrow but happiness, too; like real life. Despite being a fantasy - special powers and such - this series had a realistic feel with believable characters.
Plenty of action alongside thoughts, emotions and great writing, made this a compelling read.
Wow! I loved all this series, and I am sad it ended, even though it was a beautiful conclusion. Now I am considering beginning another set of books by the wonderful author Teyla Branton.
Wow come what a beautiful way to bring together the world!
I love the way it slowly wound up to what was going to be happening at the very end and once they were all at the Emporium together, it was so fast paced with surprises that I couldn't stop until the book was over!
I finished this book several days ago and forgot to review it. In many ways I am sorry to see this series end but am very happy that an author knows when something is done without regurgitating it to the point of idiocy when the story was well and truly over several books ago. Very well written, kept the fast pace and tension throughout each book and through the series. Well worth the time invested in the characters lives and explored a concept akin to all the bigotry we experience in our world today. Well Done!
I was excited to finish this series. Teyla does a beautiful job ending the Emporium's reign and rule. You won't be disappointed with all the twists and turns that fill book 5. Now I'm excited to read the other side stories in the Unbounded Series! Thanks Teyla for creating such a fun and adventurous series!
Great finale to a great series! Loved how she kept up the intensity like she did in the other books. No rushing ending here and that's good when so many are just thrown together. I loved all the surprises and the way the ending came about. Lots of things had to come together and just go with it. Needed more love scenes but other then that great book and fun quick read!
Loved it! The action gets intense! I wasn't happy about Cort's death. But the writing was very well done and I hope that she writes more novellas, especially one about Cort. If not, she still ended it well. This series has by far been one of my favorites.

Fantastic conclusion to a series that held my rapt attention from start to finish. I loved how everything wrapped up. The way we got a look into the future, no matter how brief. I'll miss the world of the Unbounded but loved the journey!
Pretty decent ending to this series. Leaves some story threads hanging loose which was a bit annoying, as well as some foreshadowing without follow through. All in all was a good series.
I enjoyed the series, but this last book felt like it dragged on for a bit too long. We lost the fun parts of the characters, and it was just one fight scene after another. Enjoyed the happy ending

I really struggled to get into this book, it felt like nothing was happening just talking about doing stuff, then all of a sudden there's a battle and it's finished.
I love this series. I could have read a few more. The concept of natural changes in the human genome is handled so well and how it could and would probably play out. The characters are engaging and you can easily invest in them.
