SCREAMING CRYING SOBBING OH MY GOD

This set of volumes had much needed down time after the events of the previous omnibus. You can feel the series coming closer to the end with a lot of what unfolds.

It was good to see characters we haven't seen in a little while like Hiyori's friends and her family. It was also good to see Takemichazuchi and Kiun become a part of the main crew a lot more as well, coming to visit out of pure boredom and taking an interest in joining the gods around Yato and what they're doing.

We celebrate Yukine's first "birthday" which was also a breathe of fresh air when it came to a moment of happiness, especially with how things are escalating. I haven't laughed like that in a long while and I only laughed even more at every turn of the page.

The Stray also has more screen time that's much deeper than being a pawn and we actually see her being a little girl. We also see Kazuma and Yato learning a lot from each other as well and come reflect more deeply about themselves from their different perspectives.

It's hard to talk about what made this book what it was without getting into spoilers but it was a much needed break from all the fighting. There's a lot of people talking and planning rather than anyone really doing much and it really sets up what is to come.

I liked this volume and I liked that every character feels integral to the story as well as playing their part as well as they can. I also liked the exploration of what romantic love would mean to a god and how people have tried to go about it as human or shinki.

This series I feel shines just the right amount of attention of new rules and ideas making everything well-paced. I doubt that when this series comes to an end I'll have many questions regarding how things work and I doubt that I will find myself wishing I saw more of something. But we'll have to see!

This story is getting really good. The constant build up to minor climaxes in the story keep the plot moving and the reading experience interesting, all the while they're a little collection of events building up to the biggest part of the story and at this point in this series I have no idea how things will end. I still have 6 volumes to go but in comparison to everything else that's not a lot. I really love how Adachitoka has built Yukine's own storyline throughout this, you're constantly feeling for him because he's being handed the roughest time but I feel like it's progressed really well in comparison to everything else going on. It kind of gives a focus that connections everyone's stories, the gods, Yato, Hiyori, the crafter. I just hope he gets a break soon.

Also much love for Yato's outfit in these volumes, it looks so good.

After 21 volumes, I think this is my last attempt to love Noragami again. I really loved the beginning of this manga series, but I feel like the heart of what made it engaging and fun was lost a while ago and it's just continued to decline. I don't particularly care about the political landscape of the gods, but it doesn't look like that's slowing down anytime soon, and the plot choices for certain characters feels really out of left field. That's just a personal opinion, of course. DNF'ing the series.

This one stressed me out so much. The stray getting Yukine on her side was horrible and based on the end of the omnibus I can’t tell if she was being honest about starting to enjoy Yukine or not. I assume she’s still with yato’s dad. I HATE that Yukine has started to try to figure out his name and life omg I hate it. The beginning of the end fr. I did enjoy Kazuma becoming a shinki for Yato as well just to see a new dynamic and weapon. At least Yukine got a nice little birthday flash mob before all this craziness. And now these other gods might be after him too omg.
