Another Great Book on the Sidhe

Like other authors that have covered the Sidhe, Spangler's Faery contact gives us further insight into our commonality. Rather than give it away, I will let you discover for yourself the mutual ways we can benefit each other. I give this book Five Stars!

David Spangler has been talking with beings from soul reality since he was a boy. For most of his life he worked with nature spirits and other beings from what is usually called the Fairy realm.

In 2011, things changed. He was contacted by a Sidhe [pronounced shee]. As he explains in the book, the Sidhe are not part of the fairies. Instead they are cousins of humans. At one time there was only one type of being. But beings who became humans decided to move more deeply into physical reality. The Sidhe are the beings who remained in a more fluid reality that is not as solidly physical. The book has many more details about what happened.

This book is the first of two (so far) books where a Sidhe person, who calls herself Mariel, describes what life is like for the Sidhe and why she and others working with her want to reconnect with humans.

I found the book fascinating. David speaks plainly about what he learned from Mariel and is clear when he has trouble finding words for the images that Mariel sends to him. You can see where Mariel tries to explain and then comes back later to clear up a point that was misunderstood. It is a real conversation between two being from very different worlds with very different ways to communicate. These conversations are not words of TRUTH from on high. They are mostly successful attempts to bridge the divide between the worlds. As both Mariel and David clearly state, information and benefits flow in both directions.

Let me give you two pieces from the book.

Mariel says that the Sidhe have cities. Humans, if they could see them, might not recognize them as cities because they don’t have the same solidity as human cities. They are still cities where people live and work. The difference in the cities is that the Sidhe have places that remain part of the living presence of the world after they are built. Human cities are built and then the buildings become something to themselves, but they do not continue to be part of the world around them. This point is profound, and I know I’m not doing it justice in this short description. By itself, it’s enough of a reason to read the book.

Mariel’s work is to reestablish connections between humans and Sidhe because we are two halves of one world. We were the same kind of being before our physical-world adventure began. To deeply understand the wonderful world that we have co-created we need to see each other’s point of view. Sidhe are not better than humans and humans are not better than Sidhe. We are in this together, and when we come together again, it will be a revelation for both groups.
There are many more aspects to the book including suggestions on how you can work with the Sidhe. They work.

I highly recommend this book and its sequel, Engaging the Sidhe: Continued Conversations. Our world will be better when we connect again. The more humans who work for reconnection, the sooner it will be possible.

The “real thing” - but it’s a pity the company was not able to stay true

These conversations can help not only broaden one’s horizons but also give some practical advice to everybody who is interested in the cooperation with the ‘People of Peace’. Though it is not necessary to have some special knowledge to grow these friendships, it can be, of course, very helpful to find here some great answers to many interesting questions. It is authentic and spontaneous, unlike David Spangler’s second book on the same topic, “Engaging with the Sidhe: Conversations Continued”.

Cooperating with the Sidhe can be a blessing, and it can also be a true test of character. In this case, eight years since this book has been published, it is obvious that David Spangler despite his lifelong experience of working with the subtle beings was not able to follow “Mariel’s” recommendation not to project his own needs and expectations into this endeavor. The Sidhe don’t take a risk connected with such a type of communication just to help fulfill someone’s desire to write more journals and books, get more publicity, or attract more students to promote one’s own teaching. Working with the Sidhe requires to start making deep inner changes in ourselves, and not everybody is willing to do so.

I like that famous quote of Lady Galadriel about hope very much, but in this case, fortunately, I would say hope remains not only “while the company is true” - Hope springs eternally.

This is a book I will be reading over and over as I take in the teachings in its pages and attempt to apply them to my life. The book is a partnership between the human author and the non-human Sidhe researcher, Mariel. Spangler, well-versed in connection with subtle energies, is contacted by Mariel for potential collaboration raising human consciousness to be more participative in the rising consciousness of Gaia, the spiritual entity which embodies itself as our planet Earth. As Spangler agrees to an exploration of what this partnership might look like, he learns how the Sidhe are different from the subtle energies he has previously contacted and the faerie realm. They are incarnate beings living in a physical world, as humans are, whose world is not as dense a creation as the humans' realm. We learn about the Sidhe Realm through the conversations Spangler has with Mariel. My copy of the book is full of colorful sticky notes on the pages of messages I want to reread. Spangler includes meditation exercises for connecting with your higher self and with the Sidhe. Humans are spirit bridges between Earth and the Stars, and it is this recollection and experience that the Sidhe want to aid in humanity. I want to see what difference these meditation exercises will bring to my life!

The descriptions of sidhe cities and landscapes created through intention were beautiful, as was the description of magic as a form of communion with the world and the flow of life. It also had so many great reminders about the magic inherent in being an embodied human, with the ability to directly affect the physical world.

I read this book half as fantasy, and for me, that worked better than worrying about whether I "believe" in these sorts of things as people do with religion. I think the sidhe might approve of this attitude.

First I love the book but really let me dig deeper, I can relate to a lot of what Mr. Spangler said I also like how clear and detailed he was with all that happened .

I also like how some of the type was in blue that helped make the book come alive.

In the end I love this book and reading as many books I can from Mr. Spangler.

"Conversations with the Sidhe" is full of deep wisdom about how wild and alive life is on this planet. It's also about wholeness and healing; about collaboration and cooperation with other realms of existence; about not being caught up in our tendency to name, label and classify; about our connections with everything around us, seen and unseen; about magic, not as we typically define the term, but magic in a deeper sense, as a blending and engagement with our larger Self and the world. David Spangler's discussions with his Sidhe collaborator, Mariel, are nourishing and inspiring dialogues, neither verbatim conversations on the one hand, nor "channeled" communications on the other. Spangler is clear about the fact that these conversations are, in a sense, filtered through his perceptions, background and translation skills. What comes through to us in Mariel's speaking is a wise, authentic "other" voice, one which is alien, yet at the same time deeply related to us. Hers is a voice that is particularly potent and valuable to us in this time of rapidly increasing personal and planetary change.
