love Eartha Kitt. glad I read this. it's written a lot like how she speaks and is almost like a sit down interview which is a beautiful thing.
she was fiercely intelligent and saw to the heart of things. enough so to have a CIA dossier compiled on her after she was basically exiled from working in America for speaking at Lady Bird Johnson's women's luncheon which she writes on in one of the final chapters. her brining reality about crime and poverty and war to the luncheon wound up pissing everybody off and it was all over the airwaves and tv news within hours. I N S P I R A T I O N. ((also the chapter about her aunt killed me))
