Ewan Strachan was a journalist working for a very small paper called Nova News. He was fed up, going nowhere, until one day he realised that a niche film which was being shown locally was produced by an old friend of his, Michael Roslyn, his old friend from university, and he was sitting just a few rows away from him. When the film was over he tried to get an interview with him, Michael was now called Mick, he didn't get the interview but he did get an invitation to meet him in Malmo where he was taking part in a film festival. Ewan's editor was keen for him to go as Mick was married to a stunning blonde who starred in all his film, Malin Lovgren, and he wanted photos!
Ewan lands in Malmo and has just two nights to get an interview, and the photos, he contacts Mick's agent and she sets up the interview for the following morning. He arrives at the apartment block Mick and Malin live in and eventually gets in by running through the door as a resident left! He climbs up several flights of stairs and gets to the door, knocks and nobody is answering, gets cross as this is just the type of thing Mick would do, not turn up, not be available. However when he pushes the door it opens and when he enters he find Malin dead on the floor, strangled. After managing to phone the police they arrive quickly and later that day he finds himself arrested for murder.
Can't see his editor being very impressed now. The lead detective is Anita Sundstrom and they find themselves attracted to each other, and she begins to unravel the clues she is picking up in hunting down the murderer of Ewan's old friend's wife. It was a very good read but the ending took me completely by surprise coming from nowhere, the last words when Anita finally finds the murderer... Wow, this book certainly turned on a sixpence there, what a fantastic book! If the others in the series have this kind of ending then I want to read some more!!
I can't possibly tell you the ending...
