The information about the ways of working in government and parliament are fascinating. The childish tones of constantly commenting on people’s looks as if that makes people stupid, I found really frustrating and undermined the quality of the rest. The final afterword written in 2014 demonstrated the potential quality of the writing, but the name calling nature of the majority of the over 500 pages of diary made it more of a slog than it should be
