Great book, and beautifully illustrated. I loved Mee's account of her life, most of it spent in the Amazon. Her husband Grenville fills in the gaps here to good effect. There are some slippages with facts--incorrect names and dates, etc, but it seems a very faithful account. Mee was a trailblazer, an artist, and a very kind soul.

While I appreciated and enjoyed the diary portion of the book, the drawings and paintings were not in a botanical style that I enjoyed.
