I first read most of this book in 2015, and I got the newest edition in 2025 when I had a breast cancer recurrence. I can't say I've read every word cover to cover, but I have read about 85% of it. It still has a lot of valuable information about breast cancer, but sadly we lost Dr. Love from leukemia in 2023, and certain parts of this book are already outdated. Particularly the information about hormones and breast cancer, and the results of the 2002 WHI study and the HABITS study, both of which have been found to be flawed in practice and in interpretation since then.

I highly recommend reading Drs. Bluming and Travis' book, "Estrogen Matters: Why Taking Hormones in Menopause Can Improve Women's Well-Being and Lengthen Their Lives -- Without Raising the Risk of Breast Cancer" with updated information.
