as a kid I truly didn’t realize how much of a menace Max is and how rude Ruby is… still love them though

Read this to Natalie at the library today since she really liked Counting Peas recently. She wasn't as interested in this one, even though it has a tea set, which she finds fun at home. Still, its a cute short Max and Ruby book. Max wants in on Ruby's game, and eventually he finds a way to get what he wants. In this case, some gummy spiders do the trick.

I could have sworn the cover to the one we read was red, but there are no other editions listed.

A pretty cute story, but not our favorite by Rosemary Wells. Max's ABC was better illustrated and more fun to read. Cute and simple for the less than 2 crowd, probably.

At 17 months, we got this from the library. He really liked the cover and the concept, but there are a lot of unfamiliar things like gummy spiders and cupcakes. Cute, though. 3 1/2 stars
