She needs to find a way home. Gaharet needs her to stay. And now he’s found her, he plans on never letting her go.
K.E Turner can't remember a time when she wasn't writing stories or reading books—as a teenager in class instead of doing math, in her lunch break at work, or at home when there's housework to be done. With a love of history, mystery, suspense, paranormal, and romance, she likes combining more than one element in her stories.
An award winning author, she writes spicy paranormal romances and romantic suspense, with strong but good hearted heroes, smart, sassy heroines and an often unexpected villain or two, to shake things up.
Based in a small village by the beach on the east coast of Australia, she lives with her husband and two dogs. A hopeless romantic, she enjoys sunsets over the water, walks on the beach, candlelit dinners and a nice shiraz.

mini blurb — ✍🏻 Eris is an archeologist and she's working with her squad on a dig in France when she finds remains supposedly belonging to the infamous Gaharet d’Louncrais. But when discovering a strange amulet suddenly brings her back to the 10th century, she come face to face to the object of her studies she finds herself living the very history she studied, only now she must face dangerous events threatening both hers and Gaheret's life.

this one got me HOOKED 👀
Imagine if Outlander and Indiana Jones had a baby with werewolves 🥹 goddamn that's good.
The plot is super interesting, one moment Eric is in what she supposes is Gareth's tomb, studying his remains and the next one she finds herself thrown back in time in 999 outside his keep LMAO, the understanding of the century I would have freaked out more if I was in her shoes. She brings knowledge of 1000+ more years and she basically know everything that happened to him that made it in history books, at the same time he is battling with the threat of people discovering his true nature, battling between containing the spreading of people knowing about the existence of werewolves and his growing interest in this outsider from another time.
The two of them have an intense chemistry that omg I had to fan myself a few times 🔥🔥🔥 I was totally captivated by them.
But what kept my attention was also the general plot going on, the power play, the political intrigues, THE BETRAYAL omg I'm diving head first into the next one bc I NEED TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN
ALSO I would like a moment to appreciate the villain of the story, Mon Seigneur Lothair, Comte de Anjou 👀 i know he done did and also plans to do some ~questionable~ things but damn, he's rich af and cunning, gotta love a man with a plan
my only complaint would be one about a supposed language barrier, he's well educated and knows different languages, ancient french, greek, latin, anglo-saxon, even arabic? But still a 10th century version of those languages. She's an archeologist and yes, she know some of those ancient tongues, but one thing is trying to decipher those texts in our time with modern resources and one thing is having a full live conversation in ancient french 🤷♀️ a bit stretched if you ask me, but we roll with it~
What a fun read! Wolf’s Keep kept me entertained and reading the whole way through. Erin from the present goes back to the 10th century and meets Gaharet-a warrior who happens to shift into a wolf. But there’s more. The evil Comte, the unknown betrayer, the fact that the shifter wolves are being hunted and their numbers dwindling….but Erin and Gaharet together are sizzling! And their love can’t be denied. Can’t wait for book 2 from this talented author.
This was an ARC read in exchange for an honest review.
10th century France combined with time travel and werewolves…what a fun combo!
Erin is working at an archeologist dig site in modern day France. She is trying to solve the mysterious disappearance of legendary knight, Gaharet d’Louncrais, when she discovers a unique amulet that whisks her away to the year 999. There she stumbles (literally) upon Gaharet, the knight she was studying. With the discovery of their pack’s existence putting him and his pack’s lives in jeopardy, the alpha hopes Erin’s knowledge of the future will allow him to save those under his protection. Erin needs to decide if the charming knight is worth trusting and if their connection is worth staying for…not that he plans to give her a choice.
First and foremost, I’d like to thank the movie, Ever After, for the knowledge of how to pronounce Gaharet’s last name. This was enjoyable and I was quickly immersed in this story. I felt like Erin and Gaharet both quickly accepted the time travel aspect but it managed to be believable. I enjoyed the knights and the 10th century setting. I was really intrigued by the evil count and archbishop and their roles. This was instalove but I didn’t mind as much because a) the fated mates aspect and b) there was still some decent tension since Erin was refusing to give into the connection. I was honestly surprised this book ended on a cliffhanger. Thankfully it wasn’t a relational cliffhanger but there were still so many pieces to the plot that I still wanted answers to and I’ll have to read the next book to get them. I would have enjoyed a little more depth to their relationship - we had some interesting glimpses into our MCs’ pasts but nothing was expanded upon. All in all, a decent, quick read with some fun tropes!
Quick Summary: An altered time, supernatural, his-fic romance
My Review: Wolf's Keep by K.E. Turner is book 1 in The Wolves of Langeais series.
About the Book: Erin Richardson is an archaeologist, and she is utterly intrigued with the life and history of Gaharet d' Louncrais. When a special amulet triggers a temporal shift, she is suddenly teleported across time and into his keeping. Of course, she is dumbfounded. The only thing she knows is that they share an intense connection and a desire to know the truth behind what is to be for them.
My Final Say: This story was so very interesting. The more I read, the more I was pulled in. What got me from jump was the air of mystery surrounding the amulet and its powers, as well as the journey through time. What kept me glued to the pages was the immediate and ongoing chemistry between the two leads. What compelled me to continue reading was the character play and forces at work. This was a fantastic start to a new series, and I am here for it.
Rating: 4.5/5 Recommend: Yes Audience: A Re-read: Yes Series: Yes
Appreciation is extended to the author, to the publisher (Totally Bound Publishing), and to NetGalley, who provided access to this title in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own.
A fabulous time-travel romance that makes you gasp, swoon and wish you could read faster!! I felt as though I was right there with archaeologist Erin Richardson back in the tenth century and damn did I want to be! Gaharet is the ultimate sword-swinging hero haunted by his own shadows who meets his perfect match in Erin as they decipher the intentions and uncover the plans of the evil camte and archeveque to save his people and himself. A true masterpiece by debut author KE Turner!! I can't wait for the next one!
I really like the overall time travel meets shifters concept. I think the mechanics of the time travel and the FMCs ability to make living in the year 999 work all made sense. I really like that Erin is an archaeologist and has advanced knowledge of the time frame, and info that can help the MMC, Gaharet with his pack issues.
As for Gaharet, he is a pretty typical alpha male type shifter, but honestly softer than most, with less of a barbaric disposition, but still maintains the possessive personality that is standard for shifters / alphas.
If I had to categorize this, I’d say it falls in the “cozy” category of books, meaning it was relatively low stakes, low stress, with lots of good feels. I think the romance was well written, but had a slightly insta-love feel for Gaharet, and an insta-lust for Erin that turned into a slow burn love. The smut was very minimal, and not overly graphic, but open door.
I really wish there had been some more developed emotions and character development. While I enjoyed the story immensely, I really think the MCs needed deeper, more developed feelings and characters arcs. That would have really given this story the extra spark.
This is set up for more books in this series, perhaps interconnected books exploring other members of the pack. The writing is 3rd person POV and there were more POVs in the book than just the MCs, so there is definitely room for more stories in this world.
This is an entertaining time travel romance that I did not want to put down, it kept me interested from the very beginning. Gaharet is a powerful and handsome Alpha werewolf who needs a wife. Archeologist Erin is transformed back to the tenth century, now she must discover how to return home. What happens when she falls for Gaharet and he too finds his perfect match in Erin. Read this gripping story to know more!
I blew through this book so fast and that is always a great sign of a good read. This is a slow-burn romance novel with all the refreshing twists a reader needs. The book delivers a memorable reading experience filled with passion, surprising plot twist, and a range of emotions. I went through an array of emotions as read this book, it was dreamy and it made me anxious and curious at times. It was everything a romance novel should be, I really felt like this story was realistic. I really loved both Gaharet and Erin, and I loved how their characters developed throughout the story. Overall though, this was an enjoyable read.
Wow, what a story! Wolf's Keep had me drawn in from the start. Couldn't put it down. Had to find out what happened next. K.E.Turner is a brilliant storyteller. Hope there's a next book or two! A must read for all.
I loved this story. From the very beginning it took me in with the imaginative way it started. The fiery scenes of connection, the powerful characters and romance which followed held my intrigue. Then I was left wondering how it would end. A well written debut novel by KE Turner.
"Wolf's Keep," the first entry in "The Wolves of Langeais" trilogy, spins a yarn of historical romance tinged with supernatural intrigue. Erin, the intrepid archaeologist on a quest to unravel the mystery of the vanished knight Gaharet d’Louncrais, finds herself catapulted through the powers of a mysterious amulet back to the tumultuous year of 999, where she encounters her object of study in the flesh. As Gaharet's pack of werewolves teeters on the brink of extinction, he pins his hopes on Erin's futuristic know-how while simultaneously wooing her with all the subtlety of a charging bull.
Gaharet cuts a dashing figure, a veritable knight-in-shining-armor adorned with layers of intellect, charm, and bravery. Erin, understandably smitten, finds herself ensnared in his orbit, despite the occasional bombardment of gag-inducing endearments like "Ma petite pouliche." Because nothing says "romance" like comparing your beloved to a diminutive horse, right? Also, it was used in the most inappropriate moments. For instance, towards the ending of the book, Erin finds out something that brings her dismay and she ponders all her options, benefits and possible losses, with a high degree of responsibility and cleverness. The picture of a level-headed and strong woman that is contoured through her thought process is turned into a moot point when he comes and promises "his little pony" that he is going to offer his mighty protection.
But let's not forget the plot twists! While some may argue they're about as surprising as a sunrise, they do keep things mildly interesting. And who doesn't love a predictable ending wrapped up in a neat little bow?
In all seriousness, "Wolf's Keep" delivers what it promises: an easy escape into a world of historical fantasy. Just be prepared for an abundance of eye-rolling moments (I personally felt smothered by the constantly uhmm... "hardness" of the male character and the permanent arousal scent in the air) and let yourself be dragged into a smooth and engaging read, perfect for a leisurely evening adventure. Sometimes, simplicity and familiarity are just what readers need to unwind.

🐺Get ready to travel back to August in the year of 999, to the wild countryside of France (Frankia). Whatever you do, if you find a very old amulet with writing on it from a forgotten language - Don’t pull out your cellphone and translate the inscription and definitely don’t accidentally bleed on the amulet while speaking the inscription. You may not have a sexy chevalier - werewolf waiting to save you. 🐺🏰⚜️⚔️
This is book one in The Wolves of Langeais series written by author K.E. Turner and I have to admit that I enjoyed reading this story and was upset that it ended! I am sure there will be more of this series as there is a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of story left to be told. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next book.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy time traveling romance and those who like paranormal romance.

✨️ Wolves Keep. The Wolves of Langeais, K.E Turner ✨️ - ❤️❤️❤️❤️
📌 Disclaimer: This book was given to me as an ARC. This was in an ebook format.
Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It had just the right amount of angst, drama, romance, and spice that made me absolutely devour it in one sitting. It's written in the third person and is firmly in the historical romance/time-travel genre. It also has a great blend of language and environment exploration too!
📖 Intro & Plot ✍️
The book follows our main character, Erin, an archaeologist who is working on uncovering the past of chevalier Gaharet d’Louncrais. What she doesn't expect is to be thrown back in time to the year 999, right in front of the man whose bones she was trying to excavate!
Also, you know, there's also the small problem (or bonus?) of him being an alpha of a werewolf pack.
This book delights and excites in equal measure, with Erin being a witty and sassy strong female lead, and Gaharet being the classic 'touch her and you die' love interest we all love.
Due to the spice scenes, I would definitely put this as an adult and up! He is swoon worthy, and we love a big angry man wanting to throw you over his shoulder and off to bed!
🌶 Spice 🌶 - She's a spicy lady, there's numerous sex scenes and a healthy dose of sexual tension/interaction throughout.
☀️ Conclusion ☀️
I'd recommend this to anyone who's looking who is a fan of historical romance but wants a bit of a twist. Fantastic read!
Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the author via Book Sirens but I opted to read it on Kindle Unlimited because reading on a kindle is more comfortable than a phone/iPad.
I really enjoyed this story, and the plot was so intriguing to me that I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I loved the paranormal, medieval elements and the time travel element was interesting. The progression of the romance between 10th century French Chevalier Gaharet and our 21st century girlie Erin was interesting. But Anne was the true MVP for me, so charming and fun in a “take no bullshit” ways. This is the first book in a series and I don’t think these books can be read separately or even as interconnected standalones, because there are still so many questions to be answered.
My only criticism is that avid historical fiction readers would always want the language to be as historically accurate as possible and while I appreciate the author incorporating French in the 10th century characters’ dialogue; it felt more like Regency or Victorian than Medieval.
Either way I LOVED this book and had a grand old time reading it. I can’t wait for the next book to come.
WOLF'S KEEP is the first book in The Wolves of Langeais series and is a time-travel shifter romance. Erin is an archaeologist at a dig in France. She finds an amulet and, with the help of Google!, translates the inscription, ending up in the 10th century, with the warrior Chevalier she's been unable to stop thinking about.
This was a great read with realistic reactions to being transported back in time to a place without modern conveniences. Although, I have to say, that bath sounded rather good!!! The connection between Erin and Gaharet is instantaneous but Erin fights it. Gaharet is willing to wait for her, allowing their connection to grow.
You are left with questions as you try to figure things out, and it DOES end on a cliffhanger (fair warning!!!) which will leave you wanting the next book in the series right now. Definitely a series to follow and a book to keep (so you can re-read it before the next one.)
A great read and absolutely recommended by me.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Jun 8, 2024
I was immediately drawn into the world created by K.E. Turner in her novel Wolf's Keep. The romance within the medieval setting with the historical accuracy combined to create an exceptional story. The paranormal twist just made it that much more intriguing of a read! Erin Richardson and Gaharet d' Louncrais are opposites in so many ways. He is the good looking, powerful 10th century chevalier and she is a sassy, intelligent archaeologist who finds herself suddenly a part of his world while working at a dig in France. He is the type of man that she swore that she'd never become involved with, and she is the woman he never thought he would find. The ensuing story between them is sweet, gentle and eye opening for both. Sizzling chemistry tamed with Gaharet's gentleness makes the encounters swoon worthy. I don't usually choose time travel as a genre, but I am totally hooked and want to read more. I have so many questions and things are not tied up in a neat bow at the end of Wolf’s Keep. There is an underlying mystery that I think will intertwine and weave through out each new book in the series! Ready to read Book 2! I received an Advance review copy, and I am leaving a voluntary review based solely on my reading experience!
Great story! Erin is an archeologist who suddenly finds herself in the tenth century at the very area in France where she was working. Boy, things sure do look different when there are actual buildings instead of ruins. The naked man who shows up in front of her is also very different. But it was a skeleton of this very man that Erin was uncovering just before she time-traveled. Or was it? Because there was something very peculiar about those bones that she is not going to even think about. On the other hand, Gaharet d'Louncrais is very different from the picture she had formed of him, not in looks but in attitude. Though she wants to return to her own time, she finds herself reluctant to leave this man who has not only taken her in, but believes her when she says she is from the future. But he dies have a secret that could get her killed... or worse.

First of all, let me say that I have a real soft spot for time travel romances. Add in werewolves, witches and a good plot, l am a goner. And in this case, I was far from disappointed.
I really enjoyed reading ‘Wolf’s Keep’. The author has quite the knack of portraying a character’s character and emotions through the story which in turn causes me to become more invested in their outcomes. The plot itself is intricate and fast paced so I hated to set the book aside to do mundane things like sleeping. The romance itself was heated but there was a nice buildup before the actual deed.
I do recommend ‘Wolf’s Keep’ to fellow lovers of time travel and paranormal romances. There are no graphic love scenes so it could be good for all ages though there is violence as one would find between fighting men in the tenth century.

four solid stars! I would have given more if it didn't end so abruptly, I just would have liked a little more info on Erin and Gaharet. Which by the way I adored them. Even when Erin was driving me a little crazy about getting back to her time. Something I really really loved was how accepting she turned out to be instead of the fear the man I'm in love with stuff. Really enjoyed how well versed she was with history. Also liked how she deferred to him on certain matters even when she likely had a sassy retort stuck in her throat. I would have enjoyed a smidgeon more spice, BUT what we got was amazing. the build up was great! I'd love to read more and seriously enjoyed it. Plot was nice too, really enjoyed the power dynamics.
I’m always intrigued by books with time, travel, knights, and lycanthropy . I loved how Erin was so intrigued by Gaharet that she travelled back in time to him. There was instant attraction between them, but I enjoyed how she refused to give in at first. I found it fascinating that he was actually the Alpha in a pack of lycans - humans who can shift into wolves. The book also made use of how, throughout history, the leaders of the church, sought to punish those who were different. The Archbishop and the evil comte were determined to destroy Gaharet and his kind. The romance between Erin and Gaharet it was inevitable given how obsessed she was with him in the present day. The author is expertly skilled in world building which really brought the book to life. I read this book very quickly, as I was so invested in the story; can’t wait for Book Two!
It's been a long time since I read a book about werewolves. I attempted a rather famous one some years ago and hated it so much I didn't pick up another one. Until now. I was drawn in by the timeslip element, although the cover caught my eye too!
I liked Erin right from the beginning. She's a woman who knows what she wants, and clearly has a deep love of history.
I loved Garahet too. Even though my head tells me the werewolves are the bad guys, he clearly isn't.
The storyline was interesting, I love the idea of an ancient magical amulet somehow pulling someone into the past. I have my own theory as to why Erin activated that exact magic.
Overall I enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to book 2.
All that amulet stuff I buy. But since he travels very early on, I missed things happening between his arrival and the day he's called. For a story whose days are numbered, I felt that interlude was pretty empty. Although all those "chase" parts were my favorite. And the ending left me wanting, it's an obvious start to a series. We still have a traitor on the loose (I have my theories).
°°°°

I really loved this book. Gaharet is absolutely a dream! I am a sucker for wolf shifters - and a French chevalier wolf shifter - yes please!! Throw in time travel, a love story and a dangerous mystery and you have a surefire crowd pleaser.
I especially enjoyed seeing Erin experience what she had studied for so long - life in early medieval France. The descriptions of daily life made me feel like I was living in a castle myself. The supporting characters are well written and drew me in. I could definitely see myself living in the keep, surrounded by the extended family.
Well done, Ms. Turner! Can't wait for the next one!

There’s no coffee in the tenth century, but there is Gharat d’Louncrais, handsome chevalier and alpha werewolf. And when archaeologist Erin Richardson finds his amulet and is transported back in time to his keep, she must discover how to return home before she falls for a man from the past.
Think Outlander but with werewolves. Beautifully written, Wolf’s Keep is a paranormal, timeslip romance with spice, humour and heart.
Favourite quote: “Never run from me,” he said, his breath warm across her lips and they parted in expectation, traitors to her mind’s will. “I will always catch you.”
This book has it all; time travel, mystery, paranormal aspects, slow burn to die for romance.. What more could you want? This book has a strong heroine; Erin who travels back in time and meets Gaharet a devilishly handsome alpha. The story is incredibly immersive and I got really pulled in throughout the whole of the book, it does end quite abruptly but I suspect that is a part of the pull in order to get readers to read the second book (I hope there will be a second book!).
Very well done, I really enjoyed it and will definitely be looking forward to reading works by K.E Turner again!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Totally Bound Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I usually don't read time travel books as they bug me, but I could not resist this one! I am an archaeologist so love to read what others think we do. I just can't stop myself. Anyway this was a very enjoyable read. A bit convoluted and I think that Gaharet is a rarity of his time. I liked Erin, she is a strong personality. This is not a cliffhanger, but I found there was no real resolution either. This book kept me interested and I liked the main characters. I also liked the bit of paranormal. 4 solid stars
This was so fresh in its approach because of the writing. It was so smooth and easy and the time shift plot so well worked out that I read it in a day. I loved our Were hero and Erin was so delightfully real in her reactions to the incredible situations as they occurred. Afraid, fascinated, confused, smart enough to think and yet feel the attraction, Erin was easy to connect with. Our hero is so likeable and the danger he and his men find themselves caught up with has us wanting him to thrive, them to thrive whatever they are. I normally hate being forced into a next book but I think I can live with this. An easy five stars. Can’t wait for book 2
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 When I started this, it gave me an Outlander vibe but set in France and with werewolves, and as someone who loved Outlander, I was super excited and not at all disappointed! I really liked Erin, and how fisty she was and Gaharet? I think I I liked him even more! The tension between them was amazing, and when they finally gave in, it didn't disappoint! 🔥 I also really liked Anne and her scheming. I really enjoyed the story and can't wait to see what happens next. I'm super excited to see more of Kathryn and Aimon as after only seeing snippets of them, I feel like I'm going to really like their story! Keep your eyes peeled for that review next month!
A Medieval Time Travel book about werewolves, a secret that must be kept at all costs, a spunky 21st century archaeologist who won't rest until she solves the puzzle in this past world she has been thrust into, as well as to find a way back to the time she was pulled from that had all those creature comforts that she misses so much, like running water that fuels toilets, electricity that makes the coffee maker work so efficiently, and coffee, yes, coffee! This was a fun, snappy read, and I am so looking forward to the next one in the series! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Archeologist Erin Richardson is excavating a medieval keep in France when she’s transported back to tenth century France, into the arms of Gaharet d’Louncrais. Gaharet is a wealthy, handsome, powerful chevalier who also happens to be… a werewolf!
Wolf’s Keep is a page turning romance, full of intrigue, secrets and chemistry that keep the reader thoroughly immersed. I loved seeing medieval France through Erin’s modern eyes. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
What a great read! I absolutely loved every minute of it. Medieval anything really kickstarts my heart and this book was no exception. It had me hooked right from the start and I loved every moment of it. From the story, to the romance, to the shifters, this book was definitely written well!
It's very Outlander-like but definitely had new premises to the whole time travel thing that made this really enjoyable to read.
Can't wait to read more from this author!
