Well, you have an interview at a company, where is your dream job!!!
Won’t you do a thorough research of this company before your interview? Its products/brands or services, company profile, background and history, ownership, even check out the competition?
Won’t you try to find information about the interviewer, so that you will be prepared???
And since it is your dream job, that means you have read every article that has been printed, whether about the company or its owners/high level managers.

So, I found it beyond belief that when Kiana encountered Asher - the owner and CEO of the company of her dream job, didn’t have a clue of who this person was!! 😳

Also, when one character goes down on another, I do not want to read things like this:
‘You taste like the sea, but there’s a hint of scotch in there, Ant. Guess we are what we eat and drink.’ 🤨

Apart from the above, the rest was an enjoyable romance read yet didn’t thrill me, with interesting characters and topics. Especially the topic of work harassment, which was executed very well.

I liked the absence of ow/om or family drama. Both characters’ families were very supportive, levelheaded and collected people and their bonds were solid.

I will probably give a chance to the next part...

Asher y Kiana son una linda pareja. Tenemos un romance entre el jefe y la empleada que sé resiste porque es el jefe y ya ha tenido una mala experiencia.

Es muy cliché y no lo odié pero tampoco me encantó. Las historias anteriores suena interesantes, le daré otra oportunidad a la autora.

Thought it would be a hit, but was definitely a miss...

This was not good on any level. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because even though the book wasn't great, I really loved Asher. Kiana... not at all. I like a sassy or fiery FMC, but Kiana? She was neither. She had snidely cool remarks that did not fit with how Asher saw her. He described her as warm, sweet, and full of heart, and not once did I get that from her character. I never felt a real connection to her, yet I knew without a doubt that Asher was all in from the gate. As for the spice... NON-EXISTENT. The spice doesn't need to be ridiculously graphic to show intimacy. Never felt like there was intimacy between Asher and Kiana. I won't be reading any of the other books in this series or from this author, because though the writing was decent, I could not make a connection to the story, the characters or the romance.

Well this was a great way to pass a few hours I’ll tell you that. Asher and Kiana were fired from start to finish.

Their chemistry was explosive, and the heat was leaping off the pages. I got to give it to Kiana. Despite everything that happened to her she refused to let it deteriorate her from her goals. She was forced to take a few steps back with problems her ex made, but now she is back and ready to take names. After an awful interview luck was on her side and she met Asher, who she suspects won't see again after their one-night stand.

Asher was such a great man. He was funny, passionate, an excellent businessman and was crazy about Kiana. He was persistent with making her see that they belong together. I loved him for listening and giving her space when she asked him for it. He wanted to be the knight in shining armor but knew she needed to stand up for herself. The whole story was fast paced and it had a hold of me from the very first sentence right up while I read the words THE END.

Since this was my first book by Tracie Delaney you can bet I’m coming back for Kingcaid brothers.

The fmc grated on my nerves. This is a classic example of how a bad main character can ruin an entire book just by their mere presence. What could have been a good book turned out to be a stinking pile of garbage because of the rotten female lead. 💩 She was the worst.

What a cracking first book in this brand new series!

Absolutely loved the concept and story that this author has created.

Yes, I’ve read several other books with this same trope but this book really caught my attention. This author writes a romance in such a way that you cannot help but fall in love with her characters and plot.

Asher is a man that knows what he wants and it just so happens to be Kiana. So much so that he just hides his time and waits for her to realise that all she could possibly want and need, is him. Throw in laughter, steam and romance and it makes for a perfect combination. You’ll totally devour this in one sitting.

I feel it pertinent to say though that I have my eye on the other Kingcaid, Johannes. I’m intrigued by his attitude and personality. What can I say, the a$$holes △⃒⃘Lways did float my boat. And I have a feeling I’m going to be swept away when his story is revealed!

I've read a few of this authors books before but this has got to be my favourite to date. I loved the whole Kincaid family. I mean every family has a tri of siblings where one is the sexy one, one is the charmer, and one is the all round joker of the pack. Well this book showed that we're in for a treat with Johannes and Penn's story. I can't wait to read book 2 when it releases.

Now forgive me.. This was my first read of Tracie's but she did not disappoint for a second.
The fiesty Kiana is everything, she is fire and then mix in Asher and you have a heavenly mix.
This book has depth, fire and a whole lot of everything a one click buy needs.
I have a new one click author and I'm not mad about it.
What. A. Masterpiece!
Buy it, read it and tell your friends about it because everyone needs these two in their life!

A few issues, but a good story.

This was an interesting story, especially since the story includes the kind of harassment women can experience on the job. It is sad that we, as women, sometimes don’t fight or tell like we should. I have personally experienced this and was so shocked when it happened I couldn’t believe it. I went to HR and was told “nothing will happen” sadly and never pursued it further. It should not occur, but it does. Still, this is a good story. Recommend.

Asher can drag me into the flames any day of the week. He certainly brought the flames to Kiana.

Despite the fact that this is a billionaire romance, Delaney brings real problems to light!

The pace of the story was fantastic! I never wanted to put it down!

Excited to see where Delaney brings us next!

Not only were the main characters great, but the supporting characters grabbed my interest as well!

Great start to a new series!

❤️Spoilerfreie Rezension für einen genialen Serienauftakt – absolutes Lesehighlight ❤️

Gerade habe ich das Buch „Captivated by You“ beendet.

Ich gebe generell keine Zusammenfassung des Buches ab, weil ich der Meinung bin, dass diese auch durch den Klappentext beim Buch schon aussagefähig ist. Insofern schildere ich hier lediglich meine Eindrücke, da dadurch sichergestellt wird, dass definitiv nicht gespoilert wird 😊

Autor:
Von Tracie Delaney hatte ich bis zu diesem Buch noch nichts gelesen. Allerdings hat mich das Buch mit der Thematik total neugierig gemacht, so dass ich dem Buch – und der Autorin definitiv eine Chance geben wollte. Und wie hat es mir gefallen? Lest selbst! 🥰

Titel:
Der Titel passt wirklich 100%ig zu dem Buch. Und ich finde es toll, dass man den Originaltitel auch bei der deutschen Ausgabe verwendet. Das ist super und trifft definitiv voll auf die Zwölf 😉

Cover:
Das Cover weckt die Neugier sicher genauso sehr, wie der Klappentext! Mir gefällt es echt gut! Und man sieht auch gleich, dass es zu der Kingcaid-Reihe gehört 🥰(hier hatten wir den Serienauftakt, es gibt dann noch weitere Bücher).

Schreibstil:
Was soll ich dazu sagen? Ich war von Beginn sofort im Buch, das Ganze entwickelt eine absolute Sogwirkung und man will unbedingt weiterlesen um zu erfahren, wie es weitergeht! Insofern definitiv süchtig machend! Mir hat das Ganze total viel Spaß bereitet. Warum? Nun ja, auch wenn das Setting nichts wirklich neues bietet (offensichtlich), so war die Umsetzung wirklich grandios. Ich hatte noch kein Buch wie dieses, es war extrem mitreißend und auch die Wendungen waren nicht vorhersehbar! Dazu waren die Charaktere lebensecht beschrieben …( siehe weiter unten 😉) – was will man mehr?

Protagonisten:👍🤗
Hier fand ich die Vorgehensweise und die Dynamik äußerst interessant. Das Ganze wirkt glaubhaft und ist auch gefühlt authentisch geschrieben. Tracie schaffte es des Öfteren, mich auf eine falsche Fährte zu locken. Langeweile mit dem Buch? Fehlanzeige! Liebenswerte Charaktere? Definitiv! Gegenspieler? Pfui Teufel! Also alles rund? Definitiv!

Stimmung/Atmosphäre:
Für mich war es einfach nur passend und stimmig. Das Buch zu lesen macht total viel Spaß und hat mir – zugegebenermaßen – auch super gefallen!

Setting:
Wie bereits gesagt: nichts Neues beim Setting, aber eine Umsetzung, die definitiv wie ein Leuchtturm hervorsticht. Unvorhersehbar – und deshalb auch so gut! 😍👍🤗

Explizite Szenen:
Heiß 🔥😜 – aber definitiv auch niveauvoll!

Gibt es auch Kritikpunkte?
Ja, ich habe durchaus auch einen Kritikpunkt. Im Buch gibt es Kapitelüberschriften. Mir persönlich haben diese zuweilen zu viel verraten. Das sollte man ggf. noch etwas ändern….
Das ist aber nur ein kleiner Teil des Buches, mit dem Rest war und bin ich total zufrieden!


Bewertung:
Absolut überzeugte 5 von 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sternen. Das Buch beeindruckt mich – und ich will definitiv mitbekommen, wie es mit den Kingcaids weitergeht!

Insofern eine klare, definitive Leseempfehlung! Holt euch dieses Buch! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen! 😉🤗

I really enjoyed this book and I thought the writing was great. I was glad Asher and Kiana got together and I loved how supportive he is of her. And the following does nothing to change my mind that this was a 4-star book with a well deserved HEA. However, I do have a huge bone to pick.

The premise of this book starts with Asher and Kiana meeting each other in a bar after she's just had an interview at his hotel chain (he's the CEO) where she was sexually harassed/assaulted by the manager. She doesn't know who he is and they use fake names and she tells him what happened before they sleep together. Asher realizes who she is and after firing the employee he offers her the job she turned down. But, Kiana doesn't find out who he is until she's walking in for her first day on the job. She wants to set professional boundaries and refuses to pursue a relationship due to previous experience and concerns about the stigma of dating the boss. He pursues her aggressively and ignores her stated boundaries about a relationship between them.

We later find out that Kiana has even more reason to not want to date her boss. She had previously dated her boss at another hotel 3 years prior and his brother sexually assaulted her. When she tells her boyfriend at the time he doesn't believe her, fires her, and blacklists her from the industry in their city. After finding out this information Asher comments that he understands why she was so against them getting together and when he asks her why she decided to date him Kiana admits it's because he "refused to take no for an answer".

This book has a heavy focus on "me too" and "time's up" which is great and important. It also leads to multiple women getting justice after getting harassed at work and covers some important topics. HOWEVER, it feels really weird to do that in a book where the billionaire boss persuades his employee to date him by persistently not accepting no for an answer. I get part of the point is to show that Asher is supposedly different from these men and better than them by holding them accountable. But the situation felt off for me due to the other context. I get what the author was trying to do it just didn't fully land for me.

Despite that, I really liked the book. I liked that Asher wanted to spoil Kiana and believed her and never blamed her for her past/anything bad. I'm interested to read the other books--especially about his brother Johannes who was a giant dick in this book. I want to see if Tracie Delaney can redeem his behavior.

Primera toma de contacto con la autora con el primer libro de esta serie centrada en los hermanos y primos Kingcaid que promete hacernos suspirar y mucho. En "Cautivada por ti" se nos cuenta la historia de Asher y Kiana.
Asher es el mayor de los hermanos Kingcaid, el encargado de los hoteles. Como nos explican en unas pocas páginas, el imperio Kingcaid es bastante grande, y cada hermano se dedica a una cosa: hoteles, discotecas, vacaciones...
Kiana acaba de pasar por una horrible entrevista en el lugar de sus sueños. Obtener el puesto en prácticas para el hotel Kingcaid era su sueño, pero el cerdo de gerente, intenta meterle mano durante la entrevista, así que ella sale echando humo. Termina en un bar tomando algo y se encuentra con un tipo que le llama la atención desde el principio...
Por su parte, Asher, que es bastante perfeccionista en su trabajo, escucha todo lo que Kiana le cuenta sobre el gerente, y esa misma noche pone cartas en el asunto, echándolo y llamando a Kiana para ofrecerle el puesto.
Pero antes de eso, pasan una noche de lo más interesante, en el ático de Asher...
Cuando Kiana recibe una llamada del equipo Kingcaid ofreciéndole el puesto, acepta ir a una reunión, pero...cuando se encuentra al CEO, se da cuenta que no es otro que el tipo con el que pasó una gran noche.
Es una historia que se lee súper rápido. Tiene bastante contenido spicy y explícito, te engancha de principio a fin. Me ha gustado tanto el personaje de Kiana como el de Asher. Él es un tío que no se rinde, le gusta Kiana desde el principio e intenta que ella ceda, sin mezclar una cosa con otra.
No quiero acabar la reseña sin decir que la editorial en esta serie de libro se ha equivocado y mucho con la traducción de los títulos, no sé cuál ha sido el objetivo de poner "cautivada" y no "cautivado" ya que se hace referencia, tanto en este como en el siguiente que los títulos se refieren a cómo les hacen sentir Kiana y Gia a Asher y Penn, respectivamente, por lo tanto, los títulos deberían ir en masculino.

Absolutely Delightful Romance. Being the first of the series, the author has not only given readers a great storyline but she has given us a great segway into upcoming books in the series, and this reader can’t wait. I found the book to be heartwarming, funny and romantic with characters I simply fell in love with. Asher Kingcaid is mega rich, mega sexy and is used to getting things his way - especially when it comes to running the family's business empire. But he is also a down to earth guy who doesn’t purposely flaunt his riches and has a tender side that few see. Kiana is a strong independent woman who is determined to make something of herself in the hotel management world.

Kiana and Asher meet in a Seattle bar and after a few drinks and conversation, they end up spending a magical night together before Kiana flies home to Chicago. Of course neither knows who the other truly are since both used fake names upon meeting. Little does Kinan know this one night just might change the trajectory of her life forever. As for Asher, he may have just met and left sleeping the one woman who can not only match his wit and sass but seemed to see the real him beneath the billionaire image.

Outstanding read. I highly recommend grabbing up Captivated and getting in on the ground floor of the Kingcaid Billionaires series.

I seriously LOVED this story so much, and never wanted it to end (curse of having a reading at lighting speed superpower). Kiana met Asher in a bar one night, and their chemistry is so intense that they of course hooked up. The next day he made his point with a delightful note so she moved along. Turns out, she ends up seeing him again at her new job, and despite the impression when she woke up, he wasn't done. I think the thing that I really loved the most (and there was a lot to choose from that's for sure), is the fact that she made him work for it despite the fact that he was all that & a bag of chips, and I didn't blame her because of that morning after. Of course with the sparks flying like they were, it was only a matter of time, especially since they were absolutely perfect for each other. Everyone needs this delicious & amazing story in their lives, and I can assure you, Captivated By You is on my list of books that I revisit over & over again! I CANNOT WAIT for more of this series & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kiana has an interview and it’s her dream job, however it doesn’t go as planned and she ends up meeting a man. They don’t give each other their names, and both have the best night of their lives.
Asher can’t get the woman out of his mind he has enough information to find her and he does, making sure she’s offered a job with his company.
Kiana can’t believe she’s got the dream internship she wanted, what surprised her was history repeating itself when she finds out the owner is her one-night stand.
She assures him that what they did can never happen again, that her dream job couldn’t be affected by him at all.
Asher can’t believe that Kiana won’t have anything to do with him, but he’s learned that persistence pays off, showering her with gifts he learns that any worth over $100 she returns.
Kiana can’t believe that Asher hasn’t given up, she can’t let him wear her down, but then her friend reminds her that Asher is nothing like her ex, he’s proven that time and time again. Can she give Asher a real chance to prove it.

Kiana is so sick of men. Why do they think they can get away with everything? Kiana goes on an interview and the manager tries to feel her so she walks out. Ugh! The jib would have been perfect. Working for one of the best hotel chains around, the Kingcaid group. She goes to the bar to have a drink and the hottest guy is there. She gets talking to him and tells him what just happened to her. Of course, he is a good guy and sides with her.

Asher is sitting in the bar when he sees a beautiful woman obviously having a bad day. As he is talking to her, he is infuriated to find out how she was treated during her interview. Especially when she names the hotel and it is his.

Such a great read. Also a good setup for what I believe will be a great series. These two have dynamite chemistry and love the brutal honesty and banter. Also love the friends from other books included.

loved this book Asher is a caring Alpha billionaire who cares about his staff Keira went to interview for work on his hotel chain but did not go through with interview due to a incident with manager which triggered memories linked to her ex and we first job she's hidden
She goes to bar to try and forget and is joined by Asher instant chemistry she explained what happened not realising it's is hotel.chain they have one night stand but he can't let her goes and investigated what happened
He offers her a job as doesn't know it's him she resists once she knows but he wears her down
They fall hard then her past hits her full on when her past nemesis appears and causes big issues when Asher finds out the past.
Loved how strong she is and how she fights back. Asher is a darling but ruthless his brothers well they are something else can't wait for them to meet their women

Es una novela agradable. Ideal para desconectar. Se lee rápido.

Los protagonistas son bastante agradables, incluso diria que se muestran bastante maduros para la edad que la autora les puso. Es una relación sana, pues los conflictos van en otra dirección.

A pesar de que un inicio parecía que su vínculo iba ser más hacia los físico, se fue enfocando en lo emocional. La autora no se recrea en escenas eroticas, a pesar de que si tienes bastantes diálogos subidos de tono.

El conflicto que toca el libro esta enfocado en el abuso de poder sobre las mujeres. La protagonista se ve involucrada en dos casos de abuso sexual a pesar de que no se llega a males mayores. Además, el libro crea conciencia en no dejar pasar por alto el abuso por pequeño que pueda ser.

Creo que el problema del libro es que fue todo muy rápido y faltó un poco de contexto. Creo que hubo escenas que se pudieron construir mejor.
