Things are getting worse and worse as Mr. Sinister's big plot comes together, and is revealed here.
I'm so excited to get to the next issue, and then I'm extremely sad that I have to wait for 17 and 18 to come to Marvel Unlimited, but I've got a year plan.
Once again, hilarious and that makes it not quite as grim as it could be, great character development and fantastic art.
This book just tied in with House of X and Powers of X in a massive way. The dark future glimpsed in that seminal series that gave birth to this version of the X-Men, gets a little more certain when Sinister reveals his chimera.
Meh. This issue had a little more progress in the plot, but it's a plot that I don't care about. I'm not invested in this team of murderers. So I didn't really care when Sinister killed them, nor do I care about the fact Sinister lied to them about stuff afterward. It makes no difference to me whether they find out, or whether they're upset with Sinister and/or Kwannon.
None of it matters.
And, once again, there was YET ANOTHER GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING REFERENCE TO SINISTER'S CAPE.
It's like I'm in some very specialized sort of Hell on the show "The Good Place." I have been damned to read about "funny" Sinister's cape, over and over and over again for all of eternity.
I don't want Sinister to be funny. There's no logical reason why he would be. And from a meta-perspective, the fact Marvel is choosing to make him "funny," or at least this particular type of "funny," is because Marvel perceives its audience as basic. They think we can only find one particular sort of character funny. That character is Deadpool. So, all attempts to make other characters "funny" require that they be made as similar to Deadpool as possible. Irreverence. Pop-culture references. Inappropriately childish humor and flippancy about death. Over and over and over again.
The giant fetus in this issue might as well eat me. I'm already in Hell.
Mostly disinterested in this. Lackluster art and story. Empath (whom I sometimes forget is even on this team) was the best part and he appeared in all of 3 panels. Sinister is beyond annoying. Kwannon has been too pensive and sulky. Greycrow seems to be getting less intelligent. Havok is mostly irrelevant. Nanny and Orphan-Maker are in the on-deck circle waiting for this storyline to end. Outside of Tarn, the Locus Vile is kind of dumb. The characterization and interactions that previously made Hellions so enjoyable has fallen apart.
So I've done another big comic stockpile and will start working my way through again as I found I enjoyed it last time as opposed to just weekly reads.
On this one I seem to be tacking against the majority in that I really liked it.
It pulled a lot of the disparate strands together and revealed to the reader, and the team, what has been going on all this time and I rather liked the reveal and it coming together.
The ending gave Empath a purpose after a long time as a pointless character. The Gor guy, fetus something, is a cool concept.
There were little niggles which spoilt it a bit. Sinister all good butchered.... But the big bads turn into a bunch of dorks because Greycrow gets a big gun.... Felt a weird disparity to the earlier hardcore nature.
All in though I liked it. I still think the title would benefit from a team with more oomph, losing Empath, Nanny and Robo boy or whatever he's called would only improve the title but all things considered it's been a good run with a consistent story throughout which has actually paid off.
I’m not the biggest fan of Tarn The Uncaring and his weird, uncanny grossness, but this is fun stuff.
Sinister’s plans and schemes are fast unravelling as the team finally learn that they’ve been manipulated and used and that Sinister’s secretly been using Arcade’s Murderworld as a cloning facility. Oh, and that he’s been holding Kwanon’s daughter hostage so that she’ll keep his secret.
We also learn that he’s created the first chimera, moving us one step closer to the future world of Powers of X. Although the chimera he’s created isn’t quite what you might be expecting…
Overall, this is a solid issue, and even if it didn’t quite blow me away, it still had some great moments.

Week that was ...unexpected. I would have thought that Sinister saw himself as having the powers of God. And Empath. what was he thinking?!<\I> He could have chosen anyone else in the place and had a better result. Stupid unthinking sociopath
Depois de duas edições até bem interessantes, essa aqui é um nível abaixo e acaba sendo confusa por não trabalhar conceitos e resumir tudo de uma maneira meio apressada. Gosto muito das ideias vindas de Arakko, mas essa desandou
A lot of stuff going on in this one. Though secrets came out I feel the battle was over/won due to a plot device with no foreshadowing or even lead up. Confusing read mostly .
