Creative, wild and nerdy explorations of eternity, inner-space, anime, African culture, The secret culture of DC and more in this debut from this gifted African American author and storyteller.
This is one of the most powerful books of poetry I've read this year. Pages is a brilliant story teller of life through the rhythm and imagery of his poems. Make sure to read/listen to his poem "Piñatas."
This is one of best collections of poetry I've read in a while. I didn't want the book to end. Pages lives in Washington, DC where I live, so some of his poems' references were quite recognizable. One talks about the bullets to wizards and this refers to the nickname of the DC NBA team past and present. He rails against rape, crime, the growing disparity of the poor and middle class.
