The Harmony Guides are a series of highly practical, illustrated guides to hand knitting and crochet, explaining basic techniques from start to finish. An easy-to-follow, practical guide to this universally popular stitch, this book includes diamonds, cables, twists, honeycombs, textures, panels, and backgrounds.
This is the best aran knitting stitch book, in my opinion, and I've seen many. Yes, they all contain similar (if not the same) stitches, but this one is the best because the way it's laid out. I recently was commissioned to design and knit an aran scarf for a friend. I checked out a number of stitch pattern books from my knitting guild, this being the only one I used because it's laid out by number of stitches. Extremely helpful when you have a set number of stitches in your design and you need to plug in your stitch patterns. You can get by with other aran stitch pattern books, but this one saved me a lot of time and was the easiest to use. It's a shame this particular version of the book seems to be out of print and quite expensive to procure. There are similarly named books to this, including a different one from Harmony Guides. This one is the real deal.
