Okay…*claps hands together and rubs* Now we’re cooking.

Phantom Road #3 pulls a Fed shrouded in mystery, a freckle-faced Deputy, and even more otherworldly truck-stop weirdness into the mix. Yup. It’s a good one! :)

Special Agent Weaver gets the spotlight here. And damn! Does she have a story to tell. Can’t wait to see where and how this piece of the puzzle fits in with Dom and Birdie’s predicament.

I liked the grid layout in this book. It flowed, but still made me pause to admire the work. Plus, the colors and shadows added some creepiness and weight to the page and mood to the past and present. I loved the green glow of the Golden Pine Inn.

I’ll be watching for the next installment. Bring on the next infomercial!

Ohhhhhhh shit shit shit! It's getting realllllll good people! Some new characters that I really like with backstories that seem intriguing. Jeff Lamire just knows what he's doing when it comes to writing. Seriously.

This volume goes back in time as we see how it all got started, or at least a different starting point. It's still just as compelling and Walta's art remains stellar. Looking forward to more.

Going back into the 90s and how the FBI got involved makes this story more interesting and deep. I'm liking this X-Files vibe.

Curious where Dom and Birdie's story goes.

the various mysteries becomes less obtuse as answers are given and the loose plots threads start to tie together.

there is still lots left to uncover but an enjoyable read so far.
