This book is awful. The stories are all 1-3 pages, and are extremely insignificant events. The author tends to reuse the same words over and over, which takes away from the experience. The tone of the stories is slightly sarcastic, tries to be funny, but fails, and is too desperate to set the stage for the story that ends on the next page. The original chicken soup books authored by Jack Canfield are incredible and noteworthy. I would not purchase or read another book by Amy Newmark; her writing skills are limited and simplistic. An 8 year old could easily read these stories, but likely wouldn't find interest in them either.

I'm about 13 stories in, and it's unbelievable how insignificant these stories are and how pathetic the tone of the stories is written. Amy Newmark adds her own story, 4 pages (the longest story yet) about how she got a flat tire, but an Uber showed up, and she didn't end up missing the play she was attending. Nothing exceptional, certainly not inspiring, and not worth the time. Find another chicken soup book by Jack Canfield.

Each example of resilience and grit serves as a nudge of encouragement to anyone who is working to overcome adversity or realize a dream. Inspiring book!
