One of the first books I came across - some time back now - that explicitly forged the links between the Tao Te Ching and the practice of Tai Chi. Before this book, it was personal anecdote and legend, then came this from John Lash that explained how this art could be so practical in so many ways. Coming from a martial arts background, this was an eye opener as I'd been literally translating the moves in a combative way until then. Lash draws analogies and parallels with the timeless philosophy of Taoism to turn your practice onto something other than simply a relief for rheumatism or as a balance to your range of martial techniques. Recommended.
