In A Teaspoon of Courage , Bradley Trevor Greive uses his hilarious head-on style to show you how to summon your braver self and press on with life.
"While obstacles, danger, heartache, injustice, and rampant stupidity abound in the modern world, genuine courage seems to be in short supply. From time to time, we could all use a shot of unfiltered courage to get past the challenges that life regularly throws down at our feet."--Bradley Trevor Greive
Even though life comes with more ups than downs, the downs will still be there. The only way to face them is with courage. Not bluff, not bravado, not over-starched underwear, but true courage. A Teaspoon of Courage delivers just the right pick-me-up to anyone facing troubled times--those moments of despair when you'd rather crawl back under the covers than face the world again. BTG acknowledges the universality of fear, loss, heartache, anxiety, and body odor, then with gentle wit and firm resolve marches us down the path to steely nerve, and unstoppable passion. "Whether you know it or not," he writes, "you were born tough enough to tackle anything important in life."
BTG weaves his laser-sharp insights and practical tips for courageous living with fresh and funny animal portraits, further reinforcing his message that no one is immune to fearful feelings. This exquisite gift book is ideal for Monday mornings, dentist appointments, ending lousy relationships, eating haggis, and facing life's difficulties head on.

A motivational speech coupled with cute animal pictures- what more could you ask for? Overall, it was a short, lovely, and relatively uplifting book. Though it may not stay with you for years to come, its a great thing to pick up and read on the go for a bit of a moral boost!
One of those numerous inspirational books that are a dime a dozen, if not a million at this point. As a result some of the thoughts are a bit cliche and overdone from other similar books.
What makes this book stand out, though, is the fact that there is a bit more of a story plot to it thus providing the reader with a bit more wisdom than the typical fare of this genre. Unfortunately some of this wasn't quite truthful and a bit more cheeky such as stating your problems may not be as bad as those on the street who have more right to think their options are out, stealing tender kisses from others & that "hanging in there" should't be an option, especially if someone needs to save you since you can't save yourself. Furthermore it suggests that mean people are "with bad teeth and narrow-set eyes", which as well know isn't always true.
The book itself is provided with a bunch of generic animal photographs as is the general fare of such similar books. They aren't amazingly breathtaking, the don't always match the action or thought on the page and also are without color thus providing the book's focus more towards the text rather than the illustrative means.
There is also a version of this book that is geared towards younger readers with less pages it seems, pretty much the same pictures for the parts that were kept and pretty much the same message although rewritten for their reading level while providing some extra details such as heroes crying mentions Superman also cries in the children's version.
Since it is pretty much a decent book I can see this one being provided as a gift book to some young adults who are preparing to enter into the adult world and maybe the occasional older adult who just needs a reminder about what courage is.
This was just a small book that I gave to one of my grand-daughters. The photos of the animals used tp portray encouraging thoughts were especially good, and she loves aninals and the thoughts were ok too!
A small book the author writes on a theme to match animal pictures submitted to him by photographers. I love animal photos and it helped me through a dark time.
