This was a very powerful, and difficult, book to read. The author's son spoke at a recent event, and shared how Ed channeled the harm that had been done to him into advocacy, which is so apparent in this book. This is a very dark side of Canadian history.
woah holy shit this book was raw and horrifically real, and yet i was enthralled during every chapter. this book is beyond sad and yet interesting so see a real pov of residential schools and the heinous acts that happened in it. glad i read it, even if im slightly traumatized
This was the first book I read about residential schools and it really opened my eyes and helped to better understanding something that directly effects people in my community
