Written by Kim Young-jin, one of Korea’s foremost film critics, this book―which includes interviews, a biography, a filmography, and synopses―examines the cinematic world of Lee Chang-dong, widely hailed as one of Korea’s top directors despite having produced only four films to date. Lee’s films embrace the scars of Korean history and reality as well as the illusory nature of the film medium. His latest work, “Secret Sunshine”―a comeback film of sorts as Lee returns to directing after a stint as Korea’s Minister of Culture―has been invited to the Cannes Film Festival. His filmography includes “Green Fish,” “Oasis,” and “Peppermint Candy.”

کیفیت فیزیکی کتاب خیلی افتضاح بود به طوری که من یاد دفترچه مشق‌های قدیمی می‌افتادم.
نشر یکشنبه دست مریزاد با این کیفیت جلد و کاغذ کتابت.

این کتاب در مورد یکی از بهترین کارگردانان احساس گرای سینمای شرق و جهان است‌، لی چانگ دوک که با فیلم هایش مرز فانتزی و واقعیت را از میان برداشته و احساساتی چنان متناقض و مختلف به مخاطب تزریق می‌کند که او سراسر فیلم از خود بیخود است
آرمانگرایی در آثار او بسیار نمود شدید دارد و همین باعث شده که تعداد آثار او در بیش از سه دهه فعالیت ش در سینما بسیار کم و تنها به شش اثر سینمایی محدود شده باشد اما همچنان از بهترین ها هست و خواهد بود
