It was pretty cool, especially remembering the challenge in Surah 1. I think the authors suceeded in the challenge, and not only did he or they do one Surah, they did a whole book. I think it's impressive.

Best book to come out of the modern Arabic world. The Qur'an issued a challenge. The True Furqan met that challenge with flying colors. Many Muslims think they are reading the Qur'an when they read this book or hear it out loud.

I saw a reference to this book the other day. It has been so long since I read it that I had forgotten about it when I started putting books I had read into goodreads.

I remember in seminary we were reading the Gospel of John and he remarked how “no one could ever produce something as beautiful as this.” Now this was hyperbole on his end, and while it is true that the prologue of the Gospel of John is beautiful one could copy it pretty well if they wanted to. The Book of Mormon is a good example of something that is close enough to the Bible that it is able to trick people through its words. Now, luckily for Christians, we don’t base our belief system off someone being able to copy or make something similar to scripture. That is not the case for Islam.
A part of Islamic theology is something known as “the challenge of the Quran” which comes from the second surah where Mohammed challenges anyone to produce anything like it and they won’t be able to. Well the Christians who wrote the True Furqan (which means True Criterion) set out to do just that.
The True Furqan consists of Christian theology and an apologetic against Islam presented in the style and the format of the Quran. As someone who has read the Quran twice, it succeeds in the sense of copying the language of the book while the theology is obviously very different. It is even presented similarly with English on one side and the Arabic on the other. From hearsay and by evidence in the reviews of this book one can see that they have succeeded in some way. Apparently in Arabic they have even been able to copy the style so that one can recite it and people will think you’re reciting from the Quran.
I don’t think it perfectly does what it sets out to do. For instance, I think it would be better to have arranged it like the Quran where the longest surahs are first and the shorter ones in the back.
Overall, I enjoyed reading it. I’d give it a higher star rating just to offset all the angry one stars but I’m here to review books not get into religious pissing contests.

This book is a the true meaning of the word Bathos, its written by someone with an iq of a goat that has twisted demonic intent, stupid yet evil.

This book in a nut shell a ridiculous and childish copycat of quran, addressing the intrigued and curious with Islam to try keep them away from the real the quran

What pisses me of is the resources and money spent to come up with somthing so stupid like this and every one knows from where it was, the tax payers and the money givin to charity in Sunday church.

When I first found out about this I was a bit anxious what if it meets the challenge
What if I mistake it for the Quran since I only learned a couple of verses from the Quran
But honestly I found it to be raw ,pathetic it was in no way as beautifully written as eloquent as the Quran it wasn't even possible to compare them to each other and that's coming from someone who isn't even religious

i gave this book a one star and if i can give less than that i would .
i just can't understand what the author was thinking when he wrote this book trying to challenge the Quran's challenge , it's just so ridiculous .
the only thing that the author did is that he tried to come up with some sentences and then he make what we call in Arabic (السجع) so the melody of it can sound like the Quran , how stupid is that .
believe me that if someone could have been able to produce a book like the Quran, those people would be the people who live during the time of the prophet Mohamed , because they were the masters of the Arabic language and know everything about it , but no one challenges that , you know why ? because they gonna look embarrassed in a front of their people just like what the author did when he wrote this book .
Please the people who can't read Arabic and know nothing about the Quran there's no need to comment about , go lean Arabic then tell us what you think , and the people who already know how to read the Quran and read it , i know what you think about this book , it's just crazy XD
