Freelance travel writer David Abram was born and brought up in south Wales and the Mendip Hills of Somerset. His first foray into the Corsican mountains came in 1986, during the sabbatical year of a French degree, when he stumbled upon some waymarks and followed them blindly for two days until wild pigs polished off his supplies. Since then, as an anthropologist and author of the Rough Guide to India, he's walked extensively in the Himalayas, Europe and North America but still regards Corsica as a benchmark trekking destination.

An effective travel guide to the beaches of Goa. Nice background section on the history of India and the Portuguese colonization of its west coast. Includes a chapter on Mumbai, helpful since that's the port of entry for most Westerners traveling to Goa.

This is easily one of the worst guides that I have come across. It is definitely a, "rough" guide because the information is highly incorrect, not verified, misleading and portrays Goa poorly. Please fact-check before even attempting to write such garbage. I have lived in Goa for 25 years and the inaccuracy of the guide is deplorable.
