Dogwood Cove #4

Truth and Temptation (Dogwood Cove, #4

Rate this book
When my job lands me in Dogwood Cove, I have no intention of pretending to be someone I’m not. I especially didn’t intend to fall for a cautious, small-town bookstore owner who brings out a side of me I was convinced no longer existed. We couldn’t be more opposite, but I can’t seem to stay away from her. The problem is, if Paige knew the truth of who I was, how broken I really am, she’d run in the other direction. My emotional scars run deep, the chains of guilt weigh me down. So when the truth comes to light, will I lose the love that has changed me forever?

Pack your bags we are headed back to the quaint little town of Dogwood Cove for Paige and Wyatt's story.
Paige may have my dream job; she owns a cute bookstore in her hometown surrounded by a wonderful group of friends. She is sweet, a bit quirky, intelligent and just a delight. Wyatt comes from a family that owns a big box bookstore and he is in Dogwood to regroup. The moment that he meets Paige he knows that if she knew who he really was she may not want to get to know him and he surely wants to know more about her, so he tells a little white lie. Get ready for opposites attract, instant attraction, slow burn filled with romance and steam. This couple is sweet, funny, emotional and have that undeniable attraction with the slow burn that I so enjoy!

Paige is a book store owner in town. She is on the shy side and tends, she has asthma and doesn’t really believe that love is in the stars for her. Wyatt, well he is just amazing, caring, sweet, but he also has suffered a tremendous loss.

I absolutely adored the two of them together. I loved their chemistry, the banter, the sweet moments, the spicy moments. From the moment the they first crossed paths there was an attraction. They tried to fight it, but really they can only avoid each other for so long before that attraction comes to the surface.

Paige and Wyatt easily became my favorite couple in Dogwood Cove and they both find something in each other that they truly deserve.

If you’re looking for a small town, opposites attract romance this is one to check out.

I loved Paige and Wyatts story. Paige has my ideal job... a small book shop owner! Wyatt is part of a bigger book shop chain and is on vacation in Dogwood Cove. I love Paiges personality and how she copes with asthma, meanwhile Wyatt is still trying to cope with his twin brothers death. He keeps pushing people away especially if they have health problems. It was sad to see but he sure fell for Paige. I love them together. Plenty of spice in here too! Highly recommend.

Sweet, sexy, touching, unputdownable - all words I’d use to describe 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, but by far the best word to describe book 4 of Julia Jarrett’s Dogwood Cove series is 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡.

As a fan of this series (and all of Julia’s books), Paige and Wyatt’s love story took me on an unexpected emotional journey.

I wasn’t expecting to love these characters more than previous ones in the series, but love them more, I did.

There is something particularly touching about Paige. She is honest, open and more real than she would ever give herself credit for and I for one, could not get enough of her completely spontaneous and unfiltered outlook on life. The world needs more people like her in it. It just does.

And as much as I wanted to judge Wyatt (and his actions) harshly, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. He was hard enough on himself, for the both of us. He won over my book boyfriend loving heart, pretty much from the word go and held onto it, until the very end.

𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 is the best kind of romance read. It will reel you in and give you all the feels.

You’ll laugh, you’ll sigh, you’ll get a wee bit emotional and you are going to love every single moment of it.

I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

Content Warnings: death of a sibling (off-the-page), grief/depression, female MC has chronic illness, hospital scenes

Gawd, I love this series... Like the previous three books in the Dogwood Cove series, Truth and Temptation delivers on equal parts heart and heat!! This might even be Julia's sexiest book to date (*cough* the hero is pierced *cough*) I've been waiting for Paige's book since the beginning of the series - I'm a sucker for a small-town book shop owner. Wyatt, the heir to a bookstore empire-in-disguise, is the perfect counterpart for Paige. He's calm, he's patient, and y'all... there's more than one scene when he puts her to bed because she's unwell. I'm absolute trash for caretaking scenes in romance.

Julia's characters feel sooooo real on soooo many layers. Due to her social anxiety and sheltered upbringing (because of her chronic health issues), Paige has never experienced the "big O" (but don't worry, Wyatt helps her out with that). Wyatt is also harboring some major trauma related to his brother's death over a decade ago (but between Paige and his family, he's able to confront his fears). The two of them together are just #couplegoals at its finest. I cannot recommend this book, nay this entire series, enough!

Truth And Temptation, Dogwood Cove series book four, by Julia Jarrett, is unputdownable.
It is an opposites attract/mistaken identity story written in 1st person, dual POV.

For the second time in a row, the cover models look exactly like the MCs, and it was their faces I saw throughout the whole book.
I have never read a character like Page. She is unique, quirky, says what she thinks, and talks in book language.
Wyatt was so sweet, but he was in so much pain. A pain that I recognized, but many others will too. I wanted to help him so badly, it was frustrating.
Wyatt and Page needed some time to get on the same level, but they were so in tune once they did. They had this unique chemistry and understood each other on a deep level. They made me laugh, cry, and swoon.
Page wasn't a virgin but very inexperienced in the bedroom. It was so much fun to see her explore her sexual side. I loved that she asked what she wanted and that Wyatt was respectful and understanding of her. His dirty talking mouth certainly did also help.

Julia Jarrett wrote a story that is easy to read and realistic. I effortlessly could imagine it happening, and the situation the characters go through, and their emotions are relatable.
Every aspect of the story is perfectly balanced out, and nothing is overdone or too much.

Truth And Temptation is a story that will make you smile and cry but will leave you with a full heart. I love it and recommend it to all contemporary romance lovers.

We are back in Dogwood Cove and Paige got her story. Paige is a bookstore owner, she's quiet, observant, unique and she has a innocent no filter personality. Wyatt is in town, secretly a bookstore heir, and a guy struggling with a lot of family issues. These two have a connection, completely opposites but they do gravitate towards each other. I liked these two together. They were a bit awkward yet sweet and sexy together. As their "relationship" heats up, they both are catching all the feelings but he has always known he would never stay in Dogwood Cove. Secrets are revealed and family issues needs to be resolved, Wyatt needs a break from everything! Will they be able to make a clean break?? I enjoyed the story, I really liked Paige's character and how much they connected throughout the story.

I loved all the characters in Julia’s Dogwood Cove series, but I think Wyatt and Paige are my favorites. Paige is quirky, intelligent, outspoken, and sexy (although it takes a special man to bring out her sexy side). Wyatt is sexy, dirty talking but is also caring and compassionate.
Both Paige and Wyatt are complex characters with back stories that have defined them, whether it is struggling with chronic illness or grief. Opposites in many ways, yet they also have so much in common and I love the way they bring out the best in each other. Watching them fall for each other, overcoming their fears and ultimately getting their HEA was a fun, entertaining, and steamy ride.
This was a heartwarming love story, that will tug at your heartstrings while also making you smile and swoon. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Awww this was such a nice one to start with. It had all the makings of a great West Canadian rom-com featuring Vancouver Island and Vancouver. I loved the little 'You've Got Mail' drama with Wyatt being a chain bookstore owner and Paige a smalltown bookstore one. Excited to dive in deeper into more of Julia Jarrett's works.

I really enjoyed Paige and Wyatt’s story. It’s a small town, mistaken identity, opposites attract romance. When Wyatt arrives or Dogwood Cove, he fibs about why he’s really there. Paige is quirky and sweet, thinking love is not in the cards for her. She and Wyatt are so good together. However Wyatt, is still grieving the loss of his twin brother and in the end, does not handle it well. He made up for his mistake and it was heartbreaking to watch him suffer through it. In the end, their hea was perfect!

Julia takes us back to the cute little town of Dogwood Cove for a beautiful heartfelt story of opposites attract.

We have met Paige in the previous books and you can tell right off from her first introduction she has a very unique personality, shy and intelligent. Paige is the owner of a book story in town and as we come to learn as lived a bit of sheltered life due to a medical condition. Her horizons are about to be expanded when she meets a very handsome, charming young man name Wyatt. Paige and Wyatt are the definition of opposites attract. But they end up bringing out the absolute best in each other.

I could not put this down, I was instantly hooked after Paige and Wyatts first interaction. I just needed to see how these two would work out for each other and Julia just hit it out of the ballpark. There were times, I felt their pain and love, I wanted to hug both of them. Their story is just so beautiful and perfectly written. I wish we all could find a Wyatt.

We also get to check in with the rest of the Dogwood Cove crew and get a deeper look into the friendship between these ladies. They all balance each other out. I look forward to my next return.

Truth and Temptation is the fourth book in the Dogwood Cove series and was absolutely one that you will fall in love with. This is a strangers to lovers, opposites attract romance that was a joy to read. The storyline was beautifully written. The characters were easy to relate to. I couldn't put Paige and Wyatt's story down as their chemistry was so interesting and unique.

Paige is the local bookstore owner but due to having a serious case of asthma as a child, lead a sheltered life. As a result of her upbringing, Paige is socially awkward and has a difficult time reading social cues. Paige is not afraid to tell it like it is but her way of talking or sharing information is very book-like, the facts only. She is not a virgin but her experiences were limited and not very romantic.
When she meets the new stranger in town, Wyatt, she is taken back by how handsome he is. What are the reasons behind why he is in town? Will he be the one to expand her experiences in a relationship?

Wyatt comes to town to open a new bookstore near town. He keeps his identity a secret as he does not want people to judge him because of the family that he comes from. He has emotional baggage that he has been carrying around for years. Meeting Paige was the light of his life. She was smart,, intelligent but shy and seems to keep to herself. He is intrigued and wants to get to know her more but he needs to keep his identity a secret. What happens when Paige has a medical emergency, how will Wyatt react? Will his past interfere with his feeling for Paige?

The relationship between Paige and Wyatt is one that is sweet and caring. The banter and dirty talk that happens is fantastic. Wyatt brought out the sexual side of Paige and loved seeing her tell Wyatt what she wants was terrific. I loved Paige's character development throughout this book. She grew from a shy and socially awkward woman to a woman that was not afraid to go for things that she wants.

I have to say that I loved Paige and Wyatt's story the best of the series so far. There was something about Paige that drew me to her character, whether it was her matter-of-fact personality or the way that she was stronger by the end of the book. Julia did an outstanding job of writing her character. I definitely recommend adding this book to your TBR list, but I also suggest grabbing the first three books in this series as you get more of an insight as to how all the characters are related to one another.

Julia Jarrett has once again delivered another unforgettable and unputdownable addition to her ( Dogwood Cove Series ) a series that just keeps getting better and better . Truth and Temptation is guaranteed to grab onto all your emotions, pull at your heartstrings and suck you so quickly into Paige and Wyatt’s journey . I absolutely loved the first 3 books ad all well as the couples so much , each book and each couple is so veg unique and intriguing but Paige and Wyatt just might be my favorite so far . Paige is the owner of a local bookstore in Dogwoods cove , do to some health issues ( primarily being severe asthma she tends to stay to herself . She does not has a ton of experience with relationships or socializing . But she is such a likable character in fact one of the things I love most about her was her ability to say what’s on her mind . Wyatt comes into her life when she least expects it .he is new to Dogwood cove and has come to town to open a bookshop of his own ,but there is so much more to his character than meets the eye , he keeps his true identity close to his vest as he is the heir of a bookstore empire and is hesitant to share that fact as he wants to be accepted for who he is and not because of his family’s reputation. From the moment he meets Paige he is completely smitten , she is the brightness in his life . There is no denying the undeniable attraction they share in fact It’s combustible. But can two people who are complete opposites be just what the other needs . Emotional, angsty, heartbreaking, witty banter, heartfelt, intriguing, off the charts Chemistry fun , sexy , unexpected surprises and much much more .

This was such a delightfully heartwarming sweet and sexy romance that I couldn't get enough of....

Paige is such a wonderfully charming mix of quirky, vulnerable, witty, and smart. I loved watching her blossom as her relationship with Wyatt grew. She may have been content in her life before Wyatt, but seeing him bring out the dormant pieces of her heart.... awakening the love and passion in her that she never expected to crave really pulled at my heartstrings. I absolutely adored watching this character being given the wings to truly make herself fly.....

Wyatt is sweet, sexy, rugged, and charming. He’s also
a man lost in grief and responsibilities. The suffocating burden he bears made my heart ache for him. After meeting Paige, he beings to start reclaiming the broken pieces of himself that were once lost. I loved how Paige made him see things differently and brought out the best in him.Not to mention a dirty talking Alpha side that will have you wanting to go and grab a fan 😉🔥🥵.....

This opposites attract story was one of the best I've read in a long time! It's engaging and entertaining read with wonderfully written moments that will give you all the feels! I enjoyed it from beginning to end and can't wait for more from Dogwood Cove!

3.5 stars rounding up to 4.

Welcome back to Dogwood Cove for Truth and Temptation by Julia Jarrett. In this opposites attract romance we finally get to be in Paige’s world. We have seen her in previous books and you can tell that she is a unique personality. I would say she has some social issues especially when reading cues from the people around her which was caused by living a sheltered life because of a medical condition. Paige is the owner of the town book store and her world is about to turn when she meets a very handsome, and charming man named Wyatt. These two are as opposite as you can get, yet they work and bring out the best in each other.

I have to admit that this was likely my favourite in Julia’s series as book 2 and 3 fell a little short for me. I finished in one sitting and was hooked from the very first interaction of Paige and Wyatt. I felt the feels here. I felt the love, the fun and the hurt throughout their story. I think Wyatt is my favourite male in the series.

Beyond their story we also get glimpses of our other friends from the Cove. I love the friendships and I totally connect with the ladies book club.

I am excited about where the story goes next and can’t wait to travel back to Dogwood Cove. If you are looking for a Canadian Author, small town feels, Canadian content and some spice then I encourage you to check out this series.

I've been intrigued by Paige since first meeting her in Always and Forever (Dogwood Cove Book 1). She is very literal, a straightforward individual, a passionate bookworm, and devoted to her friends. She has limited experience in romantic relationships that have not gone well. As a result, she does see their value. But, you know that it will take a special man to open her world.

Wyatt, oh Wyatt. Since losing his twin brother to cancer, he has been running from his grief and carrying so much guilt. The minute he sees Paige, he is captivated. He is supportive, patient, and deliciously naughty. He builds trust with Paige, which allows her to explore her sensuality.

I loved that we got to explore more of Dogwood Cove. It makes me want to travel to Canada's West Coast.

Truth and Temptation is a beautiful addition to the Dogwood Cove series, and I enjoyed reading this book.

RATING: 4
STEAM: 3.5
POV: first person, dual
TROPES: opposites attract, mistaken identity, small town
TW/CW: grief, cancer

Paige and Wyatt have very different relationships with books. Paige grew up sheltered due to health issues and books were her way to explore the world without going anywhere. Her bookstore, Pages, is her dream come true. Wyatt grew up in a family that owned a big bookstore chain. He feels obligated to work there after the death of his twin brother. When they meet, Wyatt has to hold back who he really is, knowing Paige will never see him for who he truly is otherwise. They both have things holding them back from a relationship - can they push through together?

I have read the other books in this series and loved them all - I highly recommend. This would work as a stand alone too but read the other books! Paige is a heroine who struggles with social interaction - so excited to see representation of this sort in a romance book. Their relationship is funny and steamy and sweet. I especially like how all Paige’s male friends make sure Wyatt is a good enough guy for her.

I read an Advance Reader copy of this book.

Title: Truth and Temptation (Dogwood Cove Book 4)
Author: Julia Jarrett
Hero/Heroine: Wyatt & Paige
Trope: Opposites Attract/Mistaken Identity

TW/CW: Death of a sibling, cancer, long term illness

THE GOOD 😀

I bloody love a small town romance, and taking a visit back to the gang at Dogwood Cove is always an absolute joy. This time the focus is on Paige, the refreshingly honest and intelligent bookshop owner.
After overhearing a somewhat private conversation between Paige and her friend Serena in the local coffee shop, Wyatt finds himself intrigued. When he takes a visit to Paige’s bookshop, he’s even more intrigued to find out she’s nothing like he expected, in the best way. What unfolds from this point is a beautiful relationship between two people who believed that love was something that wasn’t meant for them.
What a gorgeous couple Wyatt and Paige were. Both fighting against love and everything it stands for, believing that they didn’t deserve or want it, it’s instant fireworks when they meet. Paige struggles with human connection, which in turn means that she steers clear of men and relationships. When she meets Wyatt, she finally understands what her friends are on about when they’re talking about their relationships. She finds herself drawn to him and he to her, which makes for a truly wonderful connection between the both of them. Julia Jarrett has a talent for writing extremely likeable characters who connect on a deeper level, and Wyatt and Paige were no exception. This was an incredible addition to the Dogwood Cove series, and I loved watching these two characters deal with love and all its complexities.

THE BAD ☹️

Not a thing.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: A feel good, steamy story with two extremely likeable characters

Wyatt and Paige's story was adorable, and I loved seeing their relationship progress from the initial first meeting, to when they finally gave into their feelings. Sure, Wyatt was hiding who he truly was from her, but it seemed to add to the story rather than take from it. Paige was a great character, and I loved seeing her progress throughout the story from who she was in the beginning to who she became at the end.

I did find it a little interesting at some of the wording used throughout the book when it came to times where they were intimate together, but as I continued to read, I saw that it was like that because of who Paige was as a character, and now that I think about it more, I'm actually glad that Julia wrote it like that. It kind of gave us a good delve into her mind, and her journey through her relationship with Wyatt.

Truth & Temptation (Dogwood Cove #4) - 5 Stars! - can also be read as a stand-alone.

Paige is a bookstore owner, socially awkward, not a virgin but definitely the last one of her girlfriends to ever buy a sex toy, and an asthmatic. Paige’s experience in the male department has been minimal and she's never believed sexual relations are a worthwhile endeavour for herself until she meets Wyatt and now her pulse or her breath can’t seem to catch a break!

Wyatt is the heir to a massive bookstore trying to chase away his past but when he meets Paige there’s this spark…her innocent eyes and brilliant mind tempts him like no other and when she starts to make a mark on his life will finding out the truth about his small case of mistaken identity change everything?

You’ll smile with how sweet Truth and Temptation is Paige and Wyatt’s story is now a favourite of mine (tied with Mila’s of course!) from Dogwood Cove I was attracted to this story by Paige’s innocence but Wyatt’s vulnerability is what made this story for me just so hot 🥵 and emotional. The way Wyatt learns to finally make peace with his past mistakes and how he cares deeply for Paige throughout and is willing to take our nerdy girl and teach her all she’s been missing out on (I needed an inhaler myself!) they were both relatable characters to myself an also socially awkward human who thrives on book knowledge! Also who doesn’t love a romance that’s set in a small bookstore?! I know I do! The biggest connection for me in the book was Wyatt losing his brother and dealing with the trauma and guilt surrounding it I could feel his pain having survived my very own loss in life. Truth and Temptation is a perfect small town escape and one I can’t wait to share!

I adore Dogwood Cove and the feeling of being transported into a hallmark movie (with some spice) every time I read one of these books. I adored Wyatt and the tell it like it is, quirkiness of Paige. This book really showed that loving and living are far superior to living your life full of fear.

This friend group is amazing and really pulls these books together! I'm a complete sucker for the small town feels and quaint businesses. Also, how can you not love a pair of bibliophiles falling in love. ;)

These books are perfect for me while I'm in a reading slump - easy to read which is what I like

Opposites attract!
This story follows our beloved awkward Paige from the Dogwood Cove series.

I really enjoy reading these books because they are so easy and you are invested in the whole friend group.

We get to know our resident bibliophile more and have an insight into her love for books 😌

This story follows two very different people, in two very different places in their life but both adamant that they do not need romantic love in their lives....well, isn't that the recipe for a good love story? There's some spice thrown in there with an interesting location for a piercing 🤔

Paige is a wonderfully unique character and I absolutely adore her. She is quiet, shy, socially awkward, and definitely tells it like it is. Wyatt is a sweet, caring, yet dirty talking, swoon worthy man. They are complete opposites that try to fight their instant attraction, but they chemistry keeps pulling them together.

This book had my emotions on a rollercoaster that I didn't want to get off of. I laughed, cried, swooned and definitely felt the heat. I was completely sucked in from the very beginning! It's an incredibly sweet story filled with witty banter, plenty of spice, and all the feels.

Another great book in the Dogwood Cove series! I have been looking forward to Paige’s book from the beginning of this series and it did not disappoint! I love her character so much! One of the things that I have loved in this series is that there is no long drawn out drama. Just enough to keep the story going! Another one sit read for me! I was hooked from the very beginning! You will love Paige and Wyatt together! I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait for the next!

I can’t get enough of small town Dogwood Cove! I’m sad knowing that the next book, Then and Now, is the last one of the series. Each time I read a book from the series, I immediately think of Hallmark after dark. They are sweet and swoony but sexy at the same time.

Wyatt was perfection and he fit perfectly with Paige, who said anything that came to mind. I love books that have book lovers in it too. The ending was adorable. Once again, the friend group played a huge part in their story and I adored their strong bond to each other.

I’m excited to read Then and Now when it’s out!

This story took me on a roller coaster of emotions and feelings. At first I loved these two together, then I was mad and thinking no way I don’t even want these two together, then I had tears streaming down my face and my heart squeeze with joy for their HEA!

I freaking love an author that can do this to me! Job well done, Julia!
