This 4-book series was compelling to read, as evidenced by the fact that I generally do NOT read series. Yet I kept reading since I already had the boxed set and I was interested to see what happened next. The characters drew me in, and the Game of Thrones type of flavor and plotlines kept me reading (but thankfully, without the sex and excessive gore of GoT that I skipped while watching the TV series). There weren’t annoying cliffhangers at the end of each book, which I much appreciated, and at the end most all of the plotlines were satisfactorily tied up. (Exceptions, unless I missed reading something crucial: what happened to the remaining dangerous Ulezi, and why didn’t the iron shackle placed on Stefan prevent him from turning into a dragon near the end?)
As others have noted, in the second half of Book 4 there were suddenly more typos.
