Primarily looking for something proof-heavy, which this isn't, but it might do otherwise. Third edition is more colorful than second, which is probably a drawback for my kids.

I never knew that I liked Geometry until I started teaching from this textbook. I think it is thorough and engaging. It has adequately prepared all of my children for standardized tests and subsequent math courses. In my first year using the book, I sent a desperate email to the publisher asking for guidance on which problems to assign. We were using a program which assigned every problem for every lesson which seemed like too much and was overwhelming my child. Mr. Jacobs promptly replied with recommended assignments for basic geometry and honors geometry and expressed great sympathy for my daughter, explaining that he never intended for any child to do every problem. I will later try to put his assignments here, but after teaching from this textbook multiple times, I now feel comfortable choosing the problem sets on my own. My current student and I do one series of problems together after going over the lesson. I then assign all of Set I that is left and a few problems from Set II that look most interesting, especially the ones that involve constructions or graphs. This student could earn extra credit for attempts at Set III problems, but usually chooses not to bother with those. I highly recommend this textbook!

This book helped me a lot on how to understand geometry. The diagrams and pictures are immensely useful. Fun and related to the topic, the comics are quite entertaining.

The problem is though, the answers in the book
are often wrong. Also, the instructions on how to do the constructions are a bit hard to understand. Despite that, this book along with my teacher made geometry one of my most favorite subjects.

What a lovingly-crafted pedagogical masterpiece. The text contains thousands of attention-grabbing photos, cartoons, and diagrams from fields as diverse as WW2 aerial bombing tactics, ancient Egyptian tax-collecting calculations, snake movement mechanics, renaissance painting techniques, and astronomy.

And, importantly for self-learners, a comprehensive solution manual is available with answers to all ~5000 exercises.
