3.5 stars Our heroine is a lawyer & 47 yrs-old, she has been divorced for twenty years & has a grown up son who is never named. Our hero is slightly younger (we are never told by how much but possibly just 5 years or so) and is a Texas Ranger. When an unspeakable crime happens, heroine chooses to defend a man she believes in innocent. She asks the hero who is on leave to help her investigate. Both of them are attracted to each other, but an assault destroyed heroine's marriage and her confidence in herself as a woman. The hero is a man who loves deeply and has been jilted twice because of his commitment to his job. He fights the attraction at first since his life is in Texas. Both the romance and resolution of the crime kept me engaged.
Justice served. Sandy Keller and Garrett Hancock go on the search for justice. Rachel Lee writes a great romance. She creates a great drama with a mystery to solve. I always enjoy her books so much I collect them.
