Though all the stories in this collection are well-written, some are so sad that I felt disheartened afterward. I love the brilliance of great writing, and there is a place for poignant truth, but a few stories near the end seemed bent on depressing the reader with little hope. I needed a little encouragement, even in a fictional story.
