Thalia grew up on a farm on the outskirts of Melbourne with a mum who tried to save battery hens by on-selling them as backyard chickens. Her dad worked as an industrial chemist while also growing strawberries, carrots and Christmas trees on the farm. It was not unusual to find plant shoots in the freezer, or the hair dryer missing because it was needed to heat one of her dad’s experiments. Thalia's childhood showed her the magic that can happen when science and nature combine with human creativity. In 2012, Thalia released her first standalone young adult novel, Silhouette, which follows a talented and determined young dancer as she navigates her way into the adult world of commercial dance. These days, Thalia lives in regional Victoria with her husband, their two children and two black cats.
It is a cute story and fun to read. To summarize the story shortly it was about a girl, Cassie that is nine years old but people treats her like she's still a baby. She has a sister, Hannah who is mean to her because she feels as if she does not have as much attention as Cassie does. One day Hannah asks Cassie if she wants to cut her pigtails off because they heard the lady on The Tv say that your hair can change how old you look. Cassie agrees and Hannah sniped off a pigtail just when her mom came in the living room to she Hannah with scissors in her hand and Cassie missing a pigtail. Their mom tells them cutting pigtails can leave uneven strands, and took Cassie to the hair salon to get it even. Cassie and Hannah are in their own rooms and Cassie find a beam of light coming from her sister's room from inside the closet that was built in the walls like Hannah's in her room. The construction men made a mistake and left a gap from Cassie's closet to Hannah's closet. Cassie then sees Hannah reading some book. When Hannah wasn't in her room Cassie snuck in and found out Hannah's biggest fear from the book. I suggest reading the book to find out. It is a cute and fun story.
I loved it ..Would read the entire series definitely.. This is basically a story of revenge.. Hannah cuts her sister's hair because she hates her ..And then the story begins .. Cassie is able to find a secret door through which she secretly sees her sister and scares her .. Isn't it interesting.. You have to read this for knowing the whole story 😋
And my last childhood reread for the last day of April is done! This one was very sweet and nostalgic, particularly the illustrations and the message. It was surprisingly well-written and despite being 90 pages long only took about 15 mins to read.
The synopsis is pretty much what is written in the blurb. But as a parent I really disliked reading this book with my 8 year old. One of the characters chooses to do a silly action towards her sister, and at the end offers an apology of sorts ... an apology that goes on to blame the sister for why it happened? And the other sister does something silly to get back at her sister, but never apologises at all even when it torments her sister's mind and makes her unwell. After discussing it with my daughter, neither if us are impressed by the general attitude and behaviour of the girls and adults in the story and leads me to believe I won't be encouraging the reading of the Go Girl book series in our household.
Ellie Alexander When you cut your hair in a pigtail"mom said quietly"you end up with some long pieses and some really short pieses.Cassie thinks her big sister hates her.First cuts off Cassies hair. Then she stops talking to her.But Cassie knows a secret about her big sis's fear. Its about a little nine year old girl that her big sister cuts her hair because her sister don't want her to be the cuttest girl in the house because when she was a little girl her mom and dad called her sweetface but her big sister
It was pretty good. I mean, this book is meant for really little kids (come on it was in a package and I didn't even know it was in there) but the story line was cute. :)

Not bad. Not bad at all. Suitable for.. 8 to 12 year-olds, may be? It's about sisterhood and stuff. Yeah. :)

This is by far my favourite in the entire series. The plot line is a bit more complex and the reader learns some great lessons. There is fantastic character development in this book.
