I'm not sure how we got there in our conversation, but a stranger sitting next to me on a flight home led me to the The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken and its sequel, The Revenge Of The Magic Chicken.
I owe her a debt of gratitude because these books are wonderfully funny treasures that will leave your little ones laughing . . . and begging for a pickle wand!
5 stars and thank you, 10B, it was a fun and interesting flight!
This follow-up to The Wizard, the Fairy and the Magic Chicken is pretty funny, maybe funnier than the original. Crazy chicken gets himself and his friends into quite the potential pickle (darn that pickle wand anyway) and misspeaks the incantation that will save them. Thank heavens for visual clues.
Kids will get a kick out of this story, and will probably be yelling, "GREEN!" at the top of their lungs by the time Magic Chicken finally gets it right. Pretty darn cute.
A rather weird story of a magical threesome (a wizard, a fairy, and a chicken) who bicker a lot. The chicken wishes revenge for being turned into a ballerina and conjures up some scary beasties with his pickle wand. All around a kinda strange story.
After how amazing the first one was, this sequel was kind of disappointing and not nearly as charming. The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken is so much better.
