Writing Turkey, now published by Middlesex University Press, brings together a collection of essays by high profile experts and examines Turkey’s historical and contemporary roles in the shaping of the 21st century. The book focuses on the different ways that Turkey has represented itself, and been represented, in writing such as novels, poetry, news coverage and academic works.
Gerald MacLean is Professor of English Literature at the University of Exeter, founder and co-director of Exeter Turkish Studies, and a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and of the Royal Historical Society of London. He lives in Exeter.
