First known as "ze den Munichen" for the Benediictine Monastery located in modern day Old Town of Munich; as seat of the duchy of Bavaria in 1158, it became known as Munchen. Black and gold, colors of the Holy Roman Empire, are retained. Strong copy of a historic town.
