Blood is important, but it’s the legacy that lives on. My mother tried to deny me both, but when she left me with him, he showed me what it meant to be a Greene and the kind of love that comes with our name. Now I live without you, and she’s done everything she could to erase what you’ve given me, but I can still feel you, the burn of your touch on my flesh. I bleed for those memories, relaxing when the pain comes alive on my skin. It’s so easy, to swallow my tears at the thought of you. Mother thinks I’m wicked…. Ruined. But how can she not see it? I’m not broken. I’m just a little lovesick.
Do I get all giddy with every Green Family book? Yes! I know going in, it will be demented and dark. They will push all my boundaries. Questioning all my morels.
The Inferno series is not for everyone. But it sure is for me.
This review will be vague as I don’t want to give away any spoilers.
Maude is kept prisoner under her mother; she wants to run away and be back with him. She misses their sick love.
Kudos to the author for writing one of her darkest books. I hope you are okay after writing it.
To say the book captivated me is an understatement. It sucked me into the dark abyss. The writing is top-notch, and the author didn’t leave not one iota out. On my dark scale, it’s pitch black.
The book has a unique twist that you don’t read in many books, and I can appreciate it. And that ending! Perfect!
Title: Lovesick Author: C.A. Mariah Genre: Horror Type: Novella from Inferno World collection POV: First Person - Female Rating:
Growing up, Maude was deprived of love until he showed what it meant to be a Greene. After her mother ripped her away from him, Maude was determined to get back to what she craved the most.
I was just thinking I wanted to read more books with a certain dynamic. Lo and behold, this book made it happen.
Though used and abused, Maude found a way to get what she wanted. I loved how the author didn’t hold back on the darkness and depravity yet restrained enough not to be gratuitous.
Lovesick is a standalone story in the Inferno World. It would appeal to readers who enjoy dark and taboo horror.

When Maude Greene visited her uncle, the impression he left behind was everlasting with no one measuring up to his love. But without a path to return, Maude had to deal with her limited circumstances, though it didn’t mean she couldn’t control her fate.
“You’re a Greene. A God. There’s nothing more you could ask for.”
In reading an Inferno world book, my expectations are always high due to themes and set standards. In Lovesick, C.A. Mariah hits it out of the ballpark. Maude is a layered character who can rise above abuse but also fall victim to it. Her actions are fully grounded in the perversity of her life and I could not wait to see just how far she would go to prove herself. Knock, knock…
Lovesick is about survival in an extreme taboo setting. This book may appeal to those without any boundaries.
The book is a novella from the Inferno series. So if you haven’t read them you won’t you should before reading this one.
Maude is the niece of Pater we don’t really see much of him here but we do see how much Pater has affected, Maude’s life. I like who the story flows thru and we see how much Maude has suffered under her mothers hand.
The book is gory and has some incest scenes but that’s not what the book is about it’s about how. Maude takes revenge on the person who has hurt her the most. And all she ever wanted was love.
Lovesick was right on par for Yolanda's Inferno world. C.A. knew exactly what audience she was writing to, and she did not disappoint! While we got little inklings of Pater, his presence was felt throughout the entire story through Maude. Lovesick is a gory novella with many, MANY TRIGGERS as expected with the Inferno World. I was captivated from the beginning and read it in one sitting. This story has made me interested to read more of C.A.s writing.
this novella is dark, depraved, twisted, and extremely taboo. this, the inferno world itself, will not be for everyone.
honestly guys, i have no idea what the hell i just read, but i enjoyed it. i’ve always loved c.a.’s brand of taboo, but this? 𝘱𝘧𝘧𝘧𝘧𝘵. this took the whole damn cake.
especially a certain chapter. that scene lives free in my head, even when i don’t want it to be, because… wow. shook. jaw drop and everything, lol.
i definitely recommend this novella. now, brb. going to deep dive into the rest of world.
Dark, dirty and delicious! Absolutely loved this addition to the inferno series! If you have triggers I do not recommend this book! It’s fast paced and tells a fantastic but gory story!
WTF! I think this is the darkest story I’ve ever read, and I’ve read some pretty dark things. Why 5 stars? It is very well written, I’m not sure I would have read this story knowing what was written but that doesn’t change the fact that C.A. Mariah wrote an compellingly dark novella.
I feel like I have to read more in this world to really understand what was going on?? The ending seemed like it would’ve been a big shock had I known other things. So it’s prob my fault I rated this 3⭐️!
What did I just read 💀 🤯 I’m only rating it a 4 because the author nailed the mark with the twisted disgusted factor of the book and not because I loved it so much. I couldn’t stop reading this train wreck. And with that it deserves the 4
Having read all of Ms.Mariah's work so far I couldn't wait for more of her words! As soon as I found out about this novella and the fact that it's set in the Inferno world I so wanted to read it! I picked it up and finished it all in one sitting. I enjoyed this dark read so much!
Maude's journey pulled me in and kept me on edge from beginning to end! You can't help how your heart feels, something Maude knows all too well. As Maude is ripped away from the grasp of love, will she find it again?
I dived right into the darkness with Maude. There were so many layers to her as well as her mind and she had such strength and fight. I honestly didn't know how everything would unfold and oh did it keep me on my toes and make my jaw drop more than once!
This story and it's characters had me going through all sorts of emotions from start to finish for sure. I was glad to be back in the Inferno world!
With Lovesick, Ms.Mariah has brought all the darkness with this page turner! Got right into my mind for sure. Her writing is not only addictive and paints vivid pictures, but makes the heart feel every bit every time. If you haven't dived into the Inferno world or her work yet, you so need to!
This is a very dark read that touches on certain subjects, be sure to read the author's note/warning.
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this novella from the author*

Oh boy where to even start? Oof this is by far the darkest story I've dived into ever in my life. It's a consuming story of twisted love with no boundaries, where it's not only dark but the blackest of the black 🖤 forbidden isn't even strong enough of a word to describe it.
Our girl Maude's journey is twisted and insanity disguised as something good. When you're left to the care of a man that is like the devil himself it's bound to mess with your mind. When he is the only person to show you what you believe to be love it's easy to give into it, especially when your own mother keeps punishing you for just living. So you get attached to that feeling that only he can give and it turns into something you crave. It seeps inside you like a worm and attaches itself inside your body, mind and soul. Making you love the person, love the feeling of brutality and darkness, it being the right and the only way for you, to show the love.
Gosh this girl SLAYS. The limits she crosses to find her way back to the one she loves and wanting those wicked feelings and pain again is something primal and well, helluva bloody! 👀🩸It's hard to say too much on it without spoiling but damn everything in this honestly messed with my mind as well, I was just staring at nothingness processing everything for a minute.
C. A. Mariah writes all of that mind blowingly well. It takes a special kind of talent to get inside a world like the Inferno universe so I'm once again amazed by her!! 👏🏼❤️ This is for sure one bloody, twists and turns at every turn, all the triggers kind of novella, it's definitely not for everyone, even I don't think it was for me haha although I was blown away and am EASILY giving it the full five stars!!
Someone would call Maude batshit crazy but she's just a little Lovesick...
❤️ Dark Love 🔪 Forbidden ❤️ Twisted Devotion 🔪 Thriller/Horror Vibes
“She calls me sick, but look at her, practically crying for a man who’ll give anything to fuck me instead.”
This book isn’t just dark… it’s dark, DARK, D A R K, and it’s wild af.
Being a romance reader, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I went into this book initially… as this isn’t your typical romance story. While there’s an implied HEA, I wouldn’t say it’s a true one as you don’t get to meet the MMC until the very end of Lovesick.
Our FMC is Maude who has quite literally been through hell and back – this girl just can’t seem to catch a break. She’s found someone who she loves, but can’t easily have… not yet at least. Biding her time until she can be back with her love, she endures a lot in her home. Her mother treats her like absolute garbage, basically not caring what happens to Maude. She has something up her sleeve, though… a plan to get her back to her love and eliminate those that want to cruelly hurt her. It’s rare that a book makes me feel queasy, but man some of the things that Maude did in Lovesick really twisted my stomach up.
This book is extremely taboo… so, if you’ve got issues with that kind of thing, you need to run the other way… now! Lovesick really tested me. Granted her “love” wasn’t the person that gave me the ick. Lovesick will test you and I think that’s a good thing sometimes. If you love gruesome, bloody, horror-esque stories that has an amazing revenge twist, then this book is for you!
Like always, C.A. Mariah produced a beautifully written story. And I wanna know more about Maude and how she’s doing!
Where should I begin with this jaw dropping read!!!
Lovesick by C.A. Mariah was MINDBLOWING!!!!!

If you have read ANY of the Inferno World you will know that this read is dark, taboo and there is a MAJOR trigger warning page in the beginning so if you are sensitive to taboo books please beware.
I finished reading this book within 2 hrs. It kept me hooked from the very start. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole time of reading Lovesick. I was in awe, shocked and so invested in this book that I could literally smell mold, blood, and so much hatred while so deep in reading!!
Thank you for letting me read this book. EXCELLENT!!!!!
OMFG!!! That was one hell of a dark, twisted, and wicked mind fuck of a story! I don’t think I was prepared for how far down the rabbit hole of pitch-black darkness this phenomenal author was going to take us. BUT I freaking loved every deliciously sadistic and unhinged moment of it.
You are not ready for Maude – I know I wasn’t! She has fallen in love with someone she can’t have, as he has molded her into the perfect little morsal of twisted deviousness. Maude’s thinking and actions throughout will warp your mind. What she chooses to do will either make you gag, scream or cheer her on. There is nothing she is not prepared to do in order to bring her back to the happiness she seeks.
The writing is phenomenal, the characters are outstanding, and the storyline is exceptional.
This is a twisted, violent and bloody masterpiece of darkness that you won’t soon forget. You will be outraged at what transpires right before your eyes, but you won’t be able to outrun all of the wickedness you just devoured.
I loved it and could not get enough of the deliciously dark sinfulness contained within!!!
This book is set in Inferno world by Yolanda Olson, so we should not even expect anything less than explicit details of gruesome and f**ed up love Maude is created to be punished by circumstances. She is cut deep, bleeding constantly. Her scars run deeper right down to her marrow. A girl with twisted psyche and fractured morality, she moves in a haze of cruelty and violence. It's queasy at times but that is to be expected. Read it at your own discretion 4 stars for Yes Pater Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
Did I squeal when this landed on my kindle? You're damn right I did, and with every Inferno book it didn't disappoint!
Maude, god this girl, I just wanted to give her a hug, all she wants is to be loved, and obviously when it comes to the Greenes there's only one man for the job 😈
This book was twisted, bloody, and gives you the vibe you only get when coming face to face with the Greene family - if you know you know 👀😂
It just makes me want to dive right back in and re read the entire series because as always I'm left NEEDING more! 🖤
If you've read any of the Inferno books/spin offs then you'll know to heed the trigger warnings, there's no light here 🖤
if you liked the Inferno series or really any of Yolanda’s books then this is right up your alley! super triggering, dark, bloody, twisted, & just a wild ride from start to finish. it’s a pretty short little novella so i don’t want to go into too much detail, but we follow Maude who is related to Pater and we learn Pater’s legacy is still going strong. the dynamic between Maude and her mom was pretty interesting and i feel enjoyed is the wrong word lol, but that part of the plot line was very intriguing!
definitely, check out the triggers before reading!
Lovesick is a DARK and taboo Inferno world novella. If you’ve read any of the Inferno world books, you have an idea what kind of dark and twisted depravity is in store for you. This one has MAJOR triggers! Lovesick follows Maude Greene who just wants to be loved and is willing to do whatever it takes to get back to the only man who can give her the love she craves. The writing in this was seriously top notch and the story sucks you in from the very beginning.
Another unforgiving and wickedly twisted Greene story! I am no stranger to the Inferno World so I know it took a lot for the author to write this very dark and mind melting story. Lovesick not only pushed the author to write the darkest book they have every written, but it takes a tough reader to consume this story. Please mind the content warnings because this book is not for the weak hearted. If you find comfort in dark writing that makes others cringe, then dive right into this excellent novella. Fantastic read for my unhinged mind.
I've never read C. A. Mariah's books, but she takes you on one hell of a ride. I was excited when this showed up on my Kindle! This is not for the faint of heart, so if you enjoy sick, twisted, demented, and pitch black fucked up books, then this just might be up your alley. I was consumed by Lovesick and couldn't put it down. I needed to know what happened next.
Listen, this book has a fuck ton of trigger warnings. I didn't read them because I feel it gives too much away. If you are easily triggered, by all means, check out the ones for Lovesick to see if it suits you.
Holy hell!! First thought… is the author ok after writing this?!?!?! lol it had me gripped from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down!! I don’t want to give too much away but this was BLOODY amazing. It was so dark, twisted and delicious that it will have you questioning yourself and your moral compass because of how much you enjoyed the depravity of it
Received an ARC for this book that is part of my Queen’s Inferno World.
I felt the Greene family immediately in Lovesick and was brought back into the brutal world of the patriarch of this family. Although difficult to get through the imagery and anguish of Maude, I was drawn into her mind and felt all the emotions as if I was there. This is a quick and violent glimpse into the Inferno world and it’s mind altering grasp that keeps you coming back for more.
This was an intense dark twisted violent masterpiece and I loved every single word of this brilliant dark story that feed my dark little heart.
Maude was so unpredictable treated like garbage from her mother longing for the love she once had you kind of feel bad for her. She was an exceptional character and written so well I couldn't get enough, I devoured her story. I love love the Inferno World.
How else would I know true Greene love if I didn't cry from it? Okay really wtf did I just read? Don't care I need moooore. I knew C.A. Mariah had it in her to write a horror book, ever since I read her book The Black House. Now this book is a short twisted, gory, and plain fxcked up story about a love that most people will never understand. I'm not sure if you are ready to meet Maude. If you love Yoland Olson's Inferno World, maybe.
